welcome to my unboxing and first look at the PC power and cooling silencer MK3
0:12
1200 watt this is a very odd way to lay out the text given you're supposed to
0:15
read it in this order I don't know if there's any culture on Earth that reads
0:20
things in this order but you know whatever if the power suppli is good
0:24
enough that it doesn't really matter because this is basically the equivalent
0:27
to like the boyfriend or girlfriend that has it all like looks and brains and
0:32
conversational ability and like the ability to like um you know attract
0:36
ducks with bread and when they throw it just like all can do anything pretty
0:41
much um so yeah it has a seven-year warranty 80 plus Platinum efficiency
0:46
it's got a modular interface that actually looks pretty baller so we're going to have a closer look at this once
0:51
we open it up and it has my favorite thing in the world a silent fan mode
0:56
operation feature the fan does not turn
0:59
turn on until it reaches 600 watts so
1:03
that means this power supply is passively cooled up to 600 WTS it is
1:09
also rated for its full output at a 50°
1:12
ambient temperature it has all Japanese solid caps that are rated up to 105° C
1:18
it uses a single powerful 12vt rail so
1:22
it does have the usual industrial protections however if you are or you're
1:25
not comfortable with that you can always choose a multi-rail power supply but for
1:29
those of you who want that hasslefree no matter what I plug something into there
1:32
won't be any you know overcurrent protection that's triggered this is
1:36
pretty much the way to go up to 92% efficiency although I think that's on
1:40
230 volt AC um and honestly that silent
1:44
mode switch is like the Beall and end
1:48
all of features to me because for a power supply like this where it gets up
1:52
to 600 watts before turning on the fan that means that even a fairly beefy
1:57
gaming system with you know a single or dual even dual GPU cards is almost never
2:02
even going to turn on your power supply and if you're a silence efficient AO
2:05
like myself then that's a big deal for you let me just see if I missed anything
2:09
here large 140 mm fan and active power
2:12
factor correction all that good stuff ah yes silent mode so it gives you a key of
2:17
which switch position is which which is good because on the power supply itself
2:22
it actually doesn't tell you so uh there you go so the power supply itself let's
2:26
have a look at the physical attributes you got your honeycomb mesh on the back you got your power switch here you got
2:31
your silent mode switch here power input very very clean overall look and
2:35
aesthetic we've come become used to this with PC power and cooling silencer
2:39
products so you got your white finish which is extremely resilient and uh hide
2:44
scratches incredibly well because it's very matte and like a matte white finish
2:48
will actually hide blemishes way better than a matte black finish we've also got
2:52
the black and Sil or uh rather Platinum black and platinum accents on it okay
2:58
and everything even down to see these kinds of details make all the difference
3:01
in the world everything down to the quality control stickers uses that same
3:05
kind of color scheme so it'll look really great in your system silencer MK3
3:09
got like a nice shiny badge there there's your 140 mm dual ball bearing
3:13
fan and there inside are all those beefy heat sinks because you can have the most
3:18
uh efficient power supply in the world but it's not going to be able to Output
3:22
600 watts of power to your computer passively unless it's got some decent
3:27
cooling inside so the unit definitely has some weight to it now it's not fully
3:31
modular however I personally don't find that to be the end of the world because
3:36
all the cables that are on here I hope at least I think oh that's rough okay
3:41
almost all the cables on here are ones that everyone will need anyway so you've
3:45
got two PCIe 6 plus two pins you can
3:49
have a look at the sleeving here decent sleeving not the best I've seen but
3:53
definitely far from the worst so you're masking most of the color of those
3:57
yellow cables but not all of it you've got a plus 2 configuration which is my
4:01
favorite by far and these are nice thin wires so you'll be able to tuck this
4:05
away pretty easily if you want if you're only using if you only require a six pin
4:10
um and they've got an additional cap down here so I'm guessing that's helping
4:13
with uh with power stability somewhat and then your 24 pin is a 20 plus4 again
4:19
wouldn't have minded seeing dark cables or somehow uh stealth cables in some way
4:24
but again the sleeving is not bad so that hides a lot of the color there when
4:27
you're doing your cable management now this is uh this is something I would
4:31
have preferred to see just one permanently attached your CPU uh 4 plus4
4:35
pin connectors so most motherboards on the desktop anyway only require one of
4:41
those which means that most people won't
4:45
uh won't need the two preattached so that's one cable that most people are
4:48
going to end up tucking away somewhere let's have a look at what we've got in
4:52
terms of modular cables I mean it comes okay here here let's finish off with the
4:55
accessories first so it comes with a power cable some uh you know zip ties
5:00
you got five of them in there which will sort of go 30% of the
5:05
way to uh cable managing your system it's okay hopefully you can if you can
5:09
afford this power supply you can probably go buy some black zip ties uh
5:13
some thumb screws love to see these included with high-end power supplies
5:16
because not every case includes thumb screws for mounting the power supply so
5:19
it's just uh it's nice to see those little finishing touches dear valued
5:23
customer thank you for this and uh if
5:27
you have any customer support issues please contact us here and finally small
5:30
instruction manual in a variety of languages now let's have a look at some
5:35
of the modular cables so we've got a 6 plus 2 we have a 6 plus two we have a 6
5:42
plus two and finally just to shake
5:45
things up a little bit we have a 6 plus2 so that means you have a total of six 6
5:51
plus two pin power connectors which means you can install either three
5:54
graphics cards natively anyway you can install three graphics cards that
5:57
require two pin two connectors or you can do two graphics cards that each
6:01
require three connectors or I mean if you wanted you could have six graphics
6:05
cards that each require one connector but um I really can't think of an
6:09
application for that um some motherboards though will want like an
6:12
extra six pin PCI for auxiliary power for example and let's have a look at how
6:16
these connect so they've got little rubber dust or silicone dust covers on
6:20
them and then all you got to do is line up the uh the bump here with the bump on
6:25
the inside plug that bad boy in I think oh
6:31
right sorry so this is one of these so some of them have four pins and some of them have five pins so that'll go there
6:37
and then you put this ring on here and it's plugged in very nice looking cables
6:42
so these ones are all black unlike the pre-attached cables which is all the
6:46
more reason why I would have liked to see more modular cables on this one nice
6:49
flat all black ribbon cables uh terminated with heat shrink and then
6:54
again terminated on this side with just all completely black nice ribbon CA Miss
6:59
these are these are fantastic the length is pretty good on all the cables on this
7:03
power supply this is one of the longest 24 pins I've seen in a while it's almost
7:06
exactly one Linus ARM in length and the
7:09
eight pins uh for all their multitud are
7:12
also quite long about one Linus ARM in length if anything that 24 pin could
7:16
probably be a little bit shorter without hurting anybody's feelings now in terms
7:20
of other modular cables um not quite the selection that I'm used to seeing on
7:24
high-end power supplies so you've got a single 4 Mo X cable so let's go ahead
7:29
and just grab this out of here so that you guys can have a look and we'll sort
7:33
of Judge the length and decide if it uh
7:36
if it makes sense so this is one of those uh those five ones so that'll go
7:40
right there okay screw that in so that
7:44
should get I mean most systems don't require much in the way of four pin
7:47
Molex these days and it's more than a Linus ARM length so you should be able
7:50
to reach whatever you need to but if you do need more MOX connectors you will
7:54
have to consider that about this power supply although you can use Splitters it
7:57
does come with one single four pin Molex to floppy connector adapter again nice
8:02
black looks very sleek and then for SATA
8:05
you've got a four port harness a four
8:08
port harness and another four port harness so you can hook up to 12 SATA
8:12
drives up to the power supply natively and then you can run those cables up to
8:16
three different places again these look quite long so in terms of cable
8:20
management you will be able to reach pretty much wherever you go with any of
8:24
the cables that come with this power supply so this is again well over a
8:27
Linus ARM length in terms of of overall length I think that pretty much covers
8:32
it so the things to remember 7-year warranty 80 plus Platinum the fan
8:36
doesn't turn on until you reach 600 watts and it is a 12200 watt single rail
8:41
power supply thank you for checking out this unboxing and first look online as
