beautiful next to me here I have a
0:08
gaming notebook not just any gaming notebook a 17inch class gaming notebook
0:14
not just any 17inch class gaming notebook one with a gorgeous aluminum
0:20
construction but okay hold on a second glus all of this stuff is kind of stuff
0:25
that's out there what about this special
0:28
this is the first ever gaming notebook
0:31
from EVGA something that I didn't
0:35
realize until I heard about the announcement but it surprised me that
0:39
they had never done before they're the
0:42
only company I can think of with the motherboard and BIOS programming
0:48
experience that they have who has never taken that and turned it into a notebook
0:55
so let's run through what this puppy's got going for her we've got a 4K IPS
1:00
display up here like I said before just
1:03
a beautiful aluminum ID with a one
1:06
finger hinge despite the fact that this is quite a large model we've got
1:10
top-of-the-line specs we've got a core i7 Skylake processor 16 gigs of ddr4 RAM
1:16
it's got uh USB 3.1 type c it features a
1:20
256 gig SSD Bluetooth 4.2 all of that
1:24
good stuff but of course because EVGA
1:27
knows Gamers they were able to come in and do a notebook that doesn't make many
1:31
of the mistakes that companies that are new to this stuff make for example the
1:36
keyboard has a really nice and Incredibly solid feel to it the speakers
1:41
are tuned to deliver Great Sound and from closer to the gamer than you would
1:46
normally encounter and this is cool yes
1:49
but wait there's more EVGA has implemented many of the same features
1:53
that you'd find in their Enthusiast motherboard bioses for example you can
1:57
move the mouse around in the BIOS you can overclock from within the BIOS that
2:02
is pretty cool so they've actually got like a superclock profile where you can
2:06
turn the CPU up to I think it's 3.8 GHz or something along those lines and they
2:11
do all of this without it getting too loud that's the thing that they're most
2:15
proud of is how quiet they're able to keep this machine under a gaming load in
2:20
terms of IO you got your power in you've got your gigabit Ethernet you've got
2:24
HDMI and two mini display ports and then
2:27
moving around over to the other side we've got you USB type-c very nice to
2:31
see that type-c connector finally getting popular here another USB 3 port
2:36
a headphone SL microphone Jack and a Kensington lock along with another usb3
2:41
Port now the one thing that I think EVGA
2:46
missed the mark with on this one a little bit is that the GTX 980m graphics
2:51
card that's in here is not hooked up to a g-sync
2:56
display however EVGA says they are looking into release reling a follow-up
3:00
model with a g-sync display later on
3:04
this year so let us know in the comments on this one guys is there a place for
3:09
