0:00 okay so today we'll be unboxing the Arctic cooling freezer 7 Pro rev 2 so
0:05 what does REV 2 mean well for one thing it's got a black and white fan and for
0:10 another thing it is compatible with Intel LGA 1156 so that means we've got
0:15 support for all the latest Core i5 and core i7 processors on LGA 1156 now I
0:22 like the way they've done this packaging it's like a little uh Darth Vader mask
0:26 style thing you uncp it from the back and then you can pull out the actual
0:31 heat sink itself if you can get it out oh there we go okay so let's have a look
0:35 at the heat sink itself first so there's a bunch of accessories falling out of it
0:39 so this is a three heat pipe design and they're all bent in a u you can see that
0:44 the 80 mm fan blows air through the fins I'm actually going to turn it around for
0:48 the cameraman to have a look at the back so the heat pipes carry the heat away
0:52 from the CPU itself and up through the fins now then on the bottom you can see
0:56 we've actually got a very very small contact area now what this means is I
1:01 guess a a uh a cost reduction for Arctic
1:05 cooling but B it means you're focusing all of your cooling right where the
1:09 actual heat is being produced on the CPU die now the way the mounting system
1:12 works you can see we've got a couple different mounting systems here the AMD
1:16 one uses two screws and two little Clips
1:20 to go onto the the stock mounting retention bracket that's that's attached
1:24 permanently here and then clip down onto the bracket that's on all am2 and am
1:29 three motherboards now for Intel you can see we've actually got I'm just going to
1:34 put this down for a minute we've got a bracket here that's compatible with LGA
1:39 775 1156 and
1:43 1366 so then we've got a bunch of these little um plastic Clips to attach the
1:48 bracket to your motherboard and then you use the two screws to attach and I'm
1:53 just going to pick up the fan again here to attach the fan to the bracket just
1:58 like that so that's a pretty cool mounting system it's very Innovative and
2:01 thank you for checking out my blog on the Arctic cooling freezer 7 Pro rev 2
