0:00 So today we're going to be doing a quick unboxing of the ocz stealth extreme 500
0:05 W power supply so the biggest difference between the stealth extreme and the game
0:09 Extreme line of power supplies for ocz
0:12 is the fact that the stealth extremes do not have an LED fan they just have a
0:17 black fan okay I don't think they actually run quieter but the game
0:20 extremes run quite quiet anyway so I don't think it's going to be that big of
0:23 a deal in terms of standout features on this particular unit we've got silent
0:27 operation okay so they have power whisper technology blah blah blah runs
0:31 quiet thank you very much then we have active PFC which is great Superior
0:35 cooling Emi isolated casing and hassle-free warranty now the warranty is
0:40 one of the biggest things for any ocz product because ocz really does take
0:44 that whole hassle-free warranty things seriously before I worked at uh before I
0:49 worked at NC when I was uh actually having to deal with them once as a
0:53 customer I had I believe it was a Power Stream 520 Watt and the warranty replace
1:00 for that was so easy that I was uh sold
1:04 for for life in terms of how how good
1:07 they are at dealing with any warranty claims so I had a bit of a problem with
1:11 it I sent it into them they sent me back a game Extreme 700 watt so they did a
1:15 really great job for me that was a few years back at this point anyway let's
1:19 have a look at what we got inside here it's a pretty basic package actually in
1:23 terms of power supplies but it's quite an inexpensive power supply so you
1:26 expect that a little bit first of all you've got a little manual okay showing
1:30 you how to install it giving you some idea of the pinouts of all the major
1:34 connectors on the power supply unit itself protection okay safety trouble
1:39 and some troubleshooting tips great then you've got an AC power cord okay that's
1:44 terrific it's quite flexible actually feels kind of nice that's great okay and
1:48 then getting down to oh yeah we got five screws oh that's terrific even if you
1:53 lose one you will still have enough screws to plug the power supply into or
1:57 to uh connect the power supply to your case all right so here we will find the
2:01 power supply unit itself it's a fairly basic unit once again like I said before
2:06 so it's not modular or anything like that and you don't find a huge number of
2:10 connectors we've got the little do not eat bag don't eat it all right and then
2:15 here we go so a pretty plain black housing on this unit if I could get the
2:20 bubble wrap off that would be terrific okay so there we go we've got a pretty
2:24 plain black housing it actually uses a
2:27 two rail design for the 12vt rail which combined for 36 amps total so 18 amps on
2:33 each 12vt Rail and you can see that together the two 12vt rails are good for
2:57 481.121 or 240 switch which is quite typical iCal of a power supply of this
3:01 type you got an onoff switch then you've got more black more black and a black
3:06 fan which I didn't mentioned before Oh this is kind of an interesting sticker
3:10 to keep warranty please do not remove so they don't want you taking the casing
3:14 off it really you shouldn't be opening any power supply period because if
3:18 you're opening a power supply you opening up a can of danger this is not
3:23 meant to be used or serviceable on the inside and if you have any problems you
3:26 should contact ocz for their legendary warranty support anyway now in terms of
3:31 connectors there is not a whole lot to talk about so you've got your standard
3:35 20 plus 4 pin or 24 pin ATX connector
3:39 then you've got if I can find it a four
3:43 pin connector okay so that's your like your P4 connector okay then you've got a
3:48 single 6 plus2 pin PCI Express connector
3:52 then you've got two Molex here you've got two more Molex and a floppy
3:56 connector here and then only three SATA
3:59 cables on this particular unit as I said fairly basic thank you for checking out
4:03 my unboxing of the ocz stealth extreme 500 watt
