0:00 today I'm going to be unboxing a military Class 2 motherboard from MSI
0:04 even though it is military class this is not part of their gaming series of
0:08 products it's a cboard which means it's part of their I believe it stands for
0:13 classic series of products so since this
0:16 is a socket 1155 board it means we have full support well not full support hold
0:20 on I'll get more more on that later we have support for Intel's core I3 Core i5
0:24 and core i7 processors on the lg1155
0:27 platform supports Windows 7 it has a p 67 chipset so what that means is that it
0:32 does not support the onboard graphics on
0:36 said CPUs so it does support the unlocking overclocking K series chips
0:42 but no onboard Graphics support it features OC gen2 which will overclock
0:46 your K series CPU at the push of a button and it features USB 3 and SATA 3
0:51 6 GB perss we have super farite chokes
0:55 as well as solid caps as part of the military Class 2 concept and let's flip
1:00 over to the back and see what else MSI has to say for themselves pretty much
1:04 the same stuff we got a couple things that weren't covered on the front such as click bio so that is a ufi graphical
1:09 BIOS and we have winky 3 which is their
1:13 software that allows you to use your computer before booting into the OS and
1:18 that's pretty much it so why don't we flip this over and have a look at the
1:22 board itself in terms of accessories we got a pretty basic package here drivers
1:27 and utilities don't use this download the latest off the MSI website we have a
1:30 quick installation guide a user's guide
1:35 for the software applications as well as a users guide for this board as well as
1:40 a couple of other boards no one other board three other boards we have an IO
1:45 Shield which oh okay on a value board like this it's rare to see it colorcoded
1:49 but here you have it it is color coded and then we've also got two SATA 3 6
1:54 gbit per second cable so well I don't know they could be anything yeah they're
1:58 called 6 G per second cables but there's no actual physical difference between
2:02 these and 3 gbit per second cables one is right angle and one is straight we
2:06 have M connectors which allow you to connect your front panel power speaker
2:12 all that stuff uh more easily and then
2:15 we've also got one for USB environmentally friendly cardboard
2:19 packaging allows us to not see the board yet although we will soon come on ah
2:26 there we go that's pretty difficult to remove there
2:30 all right so what I'm going to do is I'm going to close the motherboard box I'm going to put the board on top and then
2:34 we're going to have a look at the p67a
2:39 c45 sticker comes off and the motherboard comes
2:45 out so we got a pretty standard board layout here it's an ATX form factor
2:50 board it has the full complement of seven slots I'm just going to take off
2:54 the OC Genie sticker as well as the
2:57 military Class 2 sticker so we can see exactly what we've got to work with here
3:03 guys that's a little challenging to remove there we are okay so let's look
3:07 at the overall layout oh once again value board 8 pin connector so MSI is
3:12 allowing for some serious overclocking going on if they're expecting us to need
3:16 an 8 pin connector to deliver all of the potential current we could need to the
3:21 CPU itself so go ahead and throw that back on there remember these little
3:24 Stoppers are here because you can use a four pin connector just by leaving the
3:27 stopper on there so it shows you which set to plug your four pin ATX connector
3:32 into if you don't have the full 8 pin ATX connector we've got a couple of
3:38 military Class 2 themed mosfet heat sinks on here so one on that side one on
3:43 the top surrounding the CPU socket which is pretty pretty bare space around it so
3:48 you should be able to mount pretty much any heat sinks you want on there as I mentioned before this is an LGA 1155
3:53 socket which means support for cor I 3s cor 5s and cor I 7s do not try to put an
3:58 1156 in here it will not work we have
4:01 full support for dual Channel DDR3 memory and then moving down the right
4:06 hand side of the board we've got our 24 pin ATX connector and we have some
4:11 storage so here we have two SATA 3 6 GB
4:14 per second connectors running off of the Intel chipset and then we have four SATA
4:19 2 3 GB per second connectors also running off of the Intel chipset lots of
4:24 fan headers on this board oh no maybe not that many okay four fan headers
4:28 reasonable number of fan head headers on this board moving down the board we've got
4:33 our front panel connectors as well as front USB 3.0 a front USB 2.0 header uh
4:39 front fire wire as well as front audio in terms of slot layout we've got three
4:45 PCI slots this is a more value oriented board so it doesn't surprise me to see
4:49 PCI slots included and you may need them if you have a board like this we've also
4:54 got three PCI e1x slots so one of them
4:57 would be covered if you were to use a dual slot graphics card which would
5:01 leave you with two PCI e1x and three PCI
5:04 E slots finally moving on to the io
5:07 Shield we've got one of those combo PS2 keyboard/mouse ports that I'm a big fan
5:12 of we have eight USB 2.0 ports a clear
5:15 seos button look at that clear seos button on a value board looks like MSI
5:19 does have some overclocking in mind with this guy all right we've got our coax
5:23 seal as well as optical audio out fire wire gigb Ethernet two USB 3.0 ports as
5:29 well 7.1 audio and look at that they're
5:32 even using screws on the back to fix all of the heat sinks happy to see that I
5:36 hate to see push pins on any board that's uh that's that's like pretty
5:41 decent cuz screws are just more secure
5:44 there's no ifs SS or butts about it so thank you for checking out my unboxing
