oh you know guys i kind of came down with a bit of a
0:05
fever today how do you act a fever
0:08
you know it doesn't matter because the cure is tech news and the all-new TechLinked
0:13
hat wow you look hip
0:16
google has dropped a fat load of cash on fitbit and by dropped a fat load of cash
0:21
on i mean of course bought yes the tech giant has acquired the fitness wearable
0:25
maker for 2.1 billion dollars setting a great example
0:30
for kids everywhere oh your classmate arnold is getting better grades than you
0:35
in your wearables class buy him
0:38
facebook was apparently also in the running to make the purchase but they
0:42
were offering about half of what google was that probably made the decision a
0:46
little easier now that fitbit is part of the google combine we may actually see
0:51
some wearables that have a chance at taking on the apple watch with its you
0:55
know life-saving electrocardiogram or
0:59
whatever we also might see google collect
1:03
fitbit's user data so that's neat
1:07
the us department of the interior has grounded its fleet of around 800 drones
1:11
used for monitoring endangered species and inspecting federal reserve land
1:15
because they suddenly realized that they were made by dji a chinese company
1:21
that's only partially a joke though homeland security did express
1:25
concern about the use of dji drones in 2017 saying the company was collecting
1:30
and exploiting sensitive us data the aircrafts have been in use for years
1:34
without apparent issues for their part dji says that they worked with the doi
1:40
for 15 months to develop drone solutions that met the department's needs and that
1:44
the government of china has never asked the company for data but it doesn't look
1:49
like there's going to be a quick resolution for the situation in sight because this is only the latest example
1:53
of the us government cracking down on cooperation with chinese companies
1:57
regardless of what they say about whether or not their government is
2:00
asking them for data hopefully we can avoid situations like
2:05
these by you know hitting the google before buying 800 of
2:09
anything next time where did you get that hat
2:14
uber is facing scrutiny over the way it handled a massive data breach that the
2:18
company suffered in 2016. state prosecutors investigating the case say
2:22
that when uber was made aware of the hack it paid the hackers a hundred
2:26
thousand dollars to delete the stolen user data then uber tracked down two of
2:31
the three hackers involved met them in person but then did not turn them over
2:37
to police company representatives apparently had the hackers sign a
2:42
non-disclosure agreement promising not to reveal the details of the
2:47
arrangement and at this point you gotta kind of ask like
2:52
getting criminals to sign a legally binding document preventing them from
2:56
incriminating themselves
3:00
what even what even is that like if that if the hackers broke the non-disclosure
3:04
agreement what's uber going to do like
3:08
sue them anyways these details came out when uber
3:12
finally publicly reported the hack in 2018 and those two hackers have just
3:17
been arrested and have pleaded guilty to their crimes it remains unclear whether
3:22
this means that uber can also sue them for breach of contract but um
3:27
i mean hey maybe that would be a solution to all the money they keep losing hey now's time for the big quits
3:32

3:54

4:00
more images have leaked of motorola's upcoming foldable razer phone showing
4:04
more angles of what looks like an impossibly thin device with a much
4:09
sharper crease than the samsung galaxy fold there's also what looks like a
4:12
fingerprint sensor and a front-facing camera that you can use even while the
4:17
phone is folded but will we still be able to use it as a ninja star
4:21
only time will tell remember that commercial you're doing it peter
4:25
no no this is the next thing and by peter i mean the youtube community in
4:29
general because hashtag team trees the tree planting initiative spearheaded by
4:34
mr beast and mark rober has passed the halfway mark with 11 million seven
4:39
hundred thousand trees primed to be planted at the time of filming today so
4:44
if you haven't donated yet it's one dollar per tree so like
4:48
go for it plant a tree it's just a dollar
4:52
you know what it's not really tech news is it that's okay
4:56
i love trees except when i kill them here's some tech
5:00
for you Gigabyte has launched the aorus gen4aic SSD an eight terabyte pci
5:06
express storage drive that can reach sequential read and write speeds of 15
5:10
gigabytes per second that amazing speed is achieved using pci
5:14
express gen 4 which is only currently available on AMD x570 motherboards with
5:19
ryzen 3000 cpus installed hard drives
5:25
you're a joke you're done come on you're done bud get over it unless you don't
5:29
have a lot of money in which case hard drives reviews for the much anticipated
5:33
ps4 game death stranding
5:37
is that whatever i don't anticipate ps4 games i don't have one you don't know
5:40
what that is and this being the first game that hideo kojima okay i know that
5:44
is has made free of the restraints imposed by his former studio konami it's
5:50
in a massive surprise to everyone apparently pretty whack
5:54
while the game is undoubtedly brilliant one reviewer also called it a compelling
5:58
mess and the ending sequence alone is apparently over 45 minutes so if you
6:03
like your gaming entertainment with a side of confusion get excited oh and
6:09
it's coming to pc next summer so see that's what i would have heard about
6:13
