0:07 welcome to my long overdue unboxing of the phantom 410 crafted mid-tower
0:12 chassis from nzxt this is basically like
0:15 the phantom but more smaller um and we're gonna go ahead and open this bad
0:20 boy up and take a take a look at it if you guys remember my original video you
0:25 probably already know that i am a big
0:28 fan of the nzxt phantom i think it's a fantastic case i think it is by far out
0:34 of all of their cases so far with okay
0:37 at the time of release i thought it was by far their best case although i would
0:41 say that they shoot what is that one over there because i really like this
0:45 one ah this is the tempest ah the tempest 410
0:50 or four something the tempest for whatever it is is also a
0:54 phenomenal case but because i've loved the phantom
1:00 original so much i am very very excited
1:04 to take a look at this slightly smaller more compact version of it so let's go
1:10 ahead open this thing up it comes in a fairly
1:13 thick oh that's actually right quite a thick foam although this is a hard foam
1:18 i do prefer softer foams because they are more
1:22 resilient to multiple impacts or more resilient to
1:26 more resistant to multiple impacts more resilient against multiple impacts but
1:30 not resilient too um
1:35 and just a second someone's at the door sorry guys that was the crazy russian
1:41 bringing back one of my crazy video cards that he borrowed so here we find a
1:47 very very much well actually i'm very surprised at how much smaller this is
1:53 than the original phantom this is definitely a mid-tower case whereas the
1:59 phantom was more of a full power case and
2:04 i have to say that without looking closer at it which i have not done yet i
2:08 have to wonder if there's enough space in here for the kind of epically awesome
2:14 gaming hardware that i would want to put inside a case that looks as slick as
2:18 this one does so let's go ahead remove all these
2:22 plastic bits and let's have a look at the outside first before we really get
2:25 any further so the front looks pretty much uh very similar to the original
2:30 phantom i'm gonna have to figure out how this
2:33 opens because i'm not really sure
2:37 you guys oh there we go yeah so it's a clicky device okay just press on there
2:41 so we've got three five and a quarter inch base
2:45 okay front ventilation looks really good we've got a 120 millimeter fan that not
2:50 only has full access to this grille in front of it but also has unrestricted
2:54 airflow from the bottom as well so you're not going to have to worry about
2:58 whether that fan is going to be starved and there's also no grill directly in
3:02 front of it so that is going to make it operate quieter as well as making it
3:07 capable of pushing more airflow although it is restricted on the other side of it
3:10 so once we open it up we'll see how much overall restriction there is also
3:15 looking at the bottom you can see it's lifted quite a fair bit off of the table
3:19 or whatever surface that it's sitting on this is an awesome design decision
3:22 because it means that this fan hole right here as well as the fan for the
3:27 power supply are not going to be starved for air because they'll have air coming
3:31 in from both sides here in order to um to cool whatever components are on the
3:35 other side so rubber feet here keep it from slipping around and let's go ahead
3:40 and make our way up the top so here's our power led as well as our hard drive
3:43 led power switch and reset switcher right here we've got our headphones and
3:48 microphone jacks two usb 2 two usb 3 and
3:52 then a built-in fan controller just like the original phantom one two three
3:56 settings and on the top we find tons of
4:00 ventilation space those look like 140 mil fans yep that's a 140 mil fan and
4:04 another 140 millimeter fan slot although this p this case does not look to be
4:10 capable of hold oh no it is okay well we'll get to that after that we have a
4:15 side window which right now has plastic on the other side of it so it's not as
4:19 transparent as it will be as well as side ventilation so you can put either a
4:23 120 or a 140 millimeter fan right here i
4:27 want to take a moment for you guys to have a look at how closely they've
4:30 managed to match the color actually up here is probably a better example how
4:34 closely they've matched the color and finish between the painted surfaces and
4:37 the plastic surfaces this is very difficult to do during the manufacturing
4:42 process and they've done a fantastic job with this one as well as with the
4:46 original phantom on the back we've got a 120 mil cooling fan water cooling
4:50 grommets although most people won't use those a little bit more ventilation a
4:53 bottom mounted power supply seven slots and that pretty much does it so let's
4:58 use the thumb screws here to open this guy up
5:01 and i'm gonna need my screwdriver
5:04 all right so let's get these side panels off
5:09 overall construction feels pretty good that's encouraging
5:12 i mean you can usually tell a little something about the middle of the case
5:16 get it metal
5:20 by taking a close look at the side panels
5:24 oh man i'm funny okay uh let's so
5:28 there's been a few screws rolling around inside this case while we've been doing
5:31 this uh unboxing so i'm gonna try and
5:34 figure out where these came from although oh i think i know where they're
5:38 from wow i think they managed to come out of here
5:41 fascinating so those are your five and a quarter inch drive mounting screws yeah
5:46 you can tell because they use uh they use the smaller threading so you use the
5:50 toolless mechanism and then if you're actually planning to ship the system
5:53 anywhere so here's your tool list
5:57 however it works hold on i think it comes up like yeah okay oh
6:01 yeah yeah you just lift it up and then you slide the drive in and then it pops into place and then you press on here ah
6:05 there we go press on there to lift up the clips on this side so you just put
6:09 your additional screw in here in order to secure the drive in the event that
6:13 it's gonna you know be banged around during shipping or whatever else
6:18 okay now the next thing i want to do is see if i can figure out how to remove
6:22 the top okay you know what we'll do that later we've also got some included accessories we've got an included zip
6:26 tie here we have six three and a half inch bay devices
6:31 and they're loaded from the back fascinating although this top piece can come out
6:36 entirely if you take out these screws um
6:40 wow there's actually a lot of features here so we're gonna have to just take it
6:43 slow go one by one i'm gonna try not to get distracted here guys
6:47 and let's get the last of those screws out there we go
6:50 so three and a half inch bays there we go you can see they are completely
6:55 tool-less you just flex them open like that put the drive in and slide the
6:59 whole cage back into the case they're also compatible with two and a half inch
7:03 drives using these mounting holes here i definitely prefer this system to other
7:07 ones that just use two pieces on either side and don't have compatibility for
7:11 two and a half inch devices on this side you can see the other screw holes for
7:14 the five and a quarter inch base as well as these pressure mounts which uh add
7:18 some resistance when you're inserting the drive so that you can easily use the
7:21 tool-less mounting option here we have our bottom three and a quarter three and
7:25 a half inch drive cages and i'm going to flip it back around
7:29 to show you guys why those are important because this top piece comes out
7:32 entirely in order to accommodate graphics cards that are the almost the
7:37 entire length of this chassis so that is a very very cool feature you can also
7:42 remember i talked about how restrictive the airflow was at the front of the case
7:46 for that front fan so we're going to go ahead and remove the front bezel just so
7:50 that you guys can have a closer look at what i was talking about there here we
7:54 go come on
7:58 there we go two and three
8:02 front bezel comes off so you guys can see what i'm talking about here because
8:05 these cages are a little on the restrictive side however
8:10 you can install an additional 120 millimeter fan which is going to give
8:13 you some more airflow there you are going to be able to push some air
8:16 through them and then in order to get more static pressure going on you can
8:21 also install an additional fan whether
8:24 you want it to be a 120 millimeter or 140 millimeter on this side to give you
8:28 some additional flow towards your graphics card or cards assuming that you
8:34 have the space so most graphics cards i mean look this is a performance card
8:38 this is a 6970 or 6950 rather
8:43 most graphics cards once i install that is going to have just enough room for
8:47 that fan to go on the inside and be installed however if you're putting
8:51 something crazy like a 6990 in there then you're gonna run into trouble
8:54 potentially okay so this is just the piece that
8:58 allows us to pull that out here we have our CPU cutout
9:02 here we have our top mounted 140 mil fan this can be replaced with either dual
9:07 140 mils or dual 120 mils and if you
9:10 wanted to mount a radiator i wonder if you could get away with it
9:14 it looks like you could so check this out so if we remove
9:18 so because i don't have a dual 120mm rad
9:22 handy i'm going to use a quad in order to provide a simulation of how this will
9:26 work so you can see all these different mounting holes they have here that's so
9:29 that you can accommodate either the dual 140s which are these outside ones or
9:34 dual 120s with a radiator so you see this cutout right here
9:37 that is so that the radiator sits with the barb side down right here
9:42 lines up perfectly i can tell from here that it's just fine and then all you do
9:46 is you put your case top back on and the radiator sits down
9:50 there the fans continue to go where they already did
9:54 so that's on the inside of the case and now you are cooling your radiator you
9:57 have a liquid cooled computer and they haven't wasted any space in this case
10:03 overall because like i said due to the small size of it i wasn't sure how much
10:07 hardware we were going to be able to put in here but it looks like the answer is
10:10 a whole lot because you can see they've made it just a little bit bulkier in the
10:14 back so you have that space that ghetto booty so to speak bulkier in
10:19 the back for the dual 120 millimeter uh
10:23 radiator and if you have a 240 millimeter radiator i definitely envy you so uh
10:28 let's go ahead and take a look at the motherboard tray we've got our cable
10:33 management grommets right here here and here we've also got a cutout right here
10:38 for the eight pin connector i wouldn't mind seeing that widened a little bit
10:42 although hey there's one here as well okay there you go so you'll be able to
10:45 reach whether the eight pin connectors more in the middle of the board or more at the edge good thinking nzxt
10:50 uh standard atx seven expansion slots
10:55 i think we're getting pretty darn close to the end of this although it's got a lot of different features hey guys
11:00 all right uh what do we got here
11:04 okay we got power for the built-in fan speed controller we've got
11:08 four leads for the built-in fan speed controller very nice we've got our front
11:12 panel connectors our front usb connector our front usb 2 and finally our front hd
11:17 audio i think that covers it this is an awesome little chassis i'm going to give
11:21 it my gold star of approval and thank you for checking out my unboxing of the
