0:00 it's not the size but what you do with
0:03 it that counts at least that's what I
0:06 keep telling myself and lately you know what I seem to be getting some backup
0:12 here because there's been a lot of love for big things that come in a small
0:17 packages if you know what I mean ITX
0:20 cases and the motherboards that go with them have been growing in popularity for
0:24 some time but there are some inherent
0:28 tradeoffs that come with tiny Computing
0:32 size noise cooling performance and of
0:36 course one of the big reasons anybody wants a small computer in the first
0:40 place looks so we rounded up eight of
0:45 the best small form factor designs for your viewing pleasure come along for the
0:51 ride the package ride you bought the ride package
1:04 cyber power PCS lineup of gaming desktops feature Intel 7th generation
1:08 core i7 processors check them out at the link
1:12 below we'll kick things off with the venerable Silverstone Milo M8 which
1:18 rocks a classic high-fi look this
1:23 particular model comes with a carrying handle along with a vertical stand
1:27 should that suit your fancy taking a peak under the hood reveals a separate
1:32 chamber for a full-size GPU which helped
1:35 with both thermals and Acoustics in our
1:38 testing on the other side we find generously sized front panel cables and
1:44 two toolless 2 and 1/2 in Drive mounts
1:47 for any combination of spinning or SSD
1:51 storage taken all together we think this one's a great choice for a living room
1:56 PC next up fractal designs node 202 a
2:01 moderately sized Media Center style case
2:04 again with a vertical stand if you're into that sort of thing and optional
2:08 feet if you're not one thing you'll notice right away here is that there are
2:13 no screws anywhere on the top or the
2:16 back they're all on the bottom and
2:19 thankfully they use standard phillips heads something apparently you can't
2:23 take for granted inside is a spacious
2:27 clean design with well proportioned cable
2:30 and a power supply Mount that uses rails for additional stability all the fan
2:35 intakes are filtered including the GPU intakes dual 120 mm fans which we would
2:42 recommend using our GPU got pretty toasty in testing and with two 2 and 1/2
2:47 in Drive mounts it's a pretty versatile
2:50 option crowdfunded on Indiegogo this is
2:54 the Dr Zer Sentry a Polish built mini
2:58 monstrosity made entirely of Steel right down to the brackets and
3:03 vertical stand everything from the satisfying power button to the weight of
3:08 the panels exudes Quality Construction
3:11 getting inside past the hex bits we can
3:15 see a fairly sensible layout with a separate GPU cooling Zone and slightly
3:21 long front panel cables if your GPU is
3:24 shorter than 200 mm you can actually make use of a provided bracket to St up
3:30 to four 2 and 1/2 in drives in place of
3:33 one of these mounts for a grand total of up to eight drives of course if you were
3:39 to actually load in that many drives I would suggest taking off all their
3:44 clothes cuz in our testing it got uh pretty hot in there behind the
3:49 GPU not content to provide only one case
3:52 for our Roundup Silverstone also sent in their Raven rvz01 e which I guess we'll
3:59 call Ron another larger case Ron trades
4:03 volume for cooling coming with two slim
4:06 120 mm fans with space for a third and
4:10 convenient magnetic filters for each of them all of which combined to give it
4:15 the top results in our thermal testing
4:18 inside we see an incredibly sturdy PCI Express Riser four 2 and 1 12in Drive
4:24 mounts ample room to maneuver and amount for a full-sized ATX power Supply Ron's
4:31 not perfect though between the too long for Comfort too short for uh reach
4:36 around front panel cables he's a little bit of a pain to service and
4:42 aesthetically we don't think Ron fits in well in the living room making him more
4:46 of a smallish showcase piece for the
4:50 computer Den now where Dr zabber debuted
4:53 on Indiegogo the Dan Case a4sfx burst
4:57 onto the scene by way of Kickstarter it is currently the world's smallest
5:01 computer case it's super light and it's
5:06 really beautiful the panels snap on and
5:09 off easily which actually could be a problem with how jam-packed heght things
5:13 are in there if not for the optional screw holes it's extremely space
5:18 efficient under the hood with the full-size GPU compartment separated by
5:22 way of a plastic flap to save weight while offering darn impressive thermals
5:28 now the a4s sfx's size and lack of dust
5:32 filters do hurt its acoustic performance
5:35 and a single front USB 3 Port is not ideal for the year 2017 but two 2 and 1/
5:41 12 in Drive mounts give you decent options for internal storage and while
5:46 sadly the A4 sfx is unavailable for
5:49 purchase at the time of filming more good news they do have a subscription
5:53 service that will notify you when they're returning to production moving
5:58 along to the NK 1 we see many
6:01 similarities between it and the a4sfx it's lightweight constructed from
6:06 aluminum and feature Snap-on panels though these ones unfortunately don't
6:11 screw down it's wholly get it
6:17 holy ventilated with two 120 mm fan
6:21 mounts that we would recommend filtering and using as intakes to help prevent the
6:26 rest of the case from sucking in dust thanks to its perforated design The m1's
6:31 Thermals were great even if it's a little on the loud side and in spite of
6:36 its diminutive size our unit includes amazing Drive expansion with the
6:41 optional slot loing optical drive that goes where you could also mount a 2 and
6:46 1/2 in drive and even an option to mount
6:49 dual 3 and 1/2 in drives if you like to
6:53 store your media locally and you'll want a small case you'll want to give this
6:57 one some consideration it's probably the most versatile chassis at its size
7:03 support for triple slot video cards is just icing on the cake at that point
7:08 next up I hope you're ready mate's cuz we've got the r agent Tech Mt
7:17 plus affordable with a premium looking aluminum finish this is a more
7:22 traditional looking Cube PC much care
7:25 and attention clearly went into making it look and feel streamlined
7:30 with brackets hiding the slot screws and the bizarre Power Supply Mount sadly
7:35 though this makes working in it a huge pain and each side panel is held on by
7:40 Philips screws rather than you know little quick releases looking inside
7:46 though we find space for up to 4 2 and 1/2 in drives or two 2 and 1 halfs with
7:51 a single 3 and 1/2 or two 3 and 1/2 in
7:54 drive so the storage options are definitely a strong point making it an
7:58 attractive home theater PC option even if I can't emphasize this enough it's
8:03 not great to work in finally a brand new
8:07 chassis to round off our Roundup the bit
8:13 Phoenix portal evoking a certain turret
8:16 design this is probably the most over complicated case we have on hand with an
8:21 inner frame for our parts to bolt onto attached via a rail this doesn't leave
8:27 much room in spite of its size for cable routing but there's plenty of cooling
8:33 which was a big benefit to the portal in our testing it even managed to stay
8:38 pretty quiet for the portal showing off your build is just a window option or
8:44 two thumb screws away and it features twin quick detach 3 and 1/2 in Drive
8:49 sleds and up to two 2 and 1/2 in Drive mounts so if you want something
8:53 absolutely unique you're looking at it as long as you don't mind dealing with
8:58 yet another case that is difficult to work with so then final recommendations
9:05 what to buy for someone with Forward
9:09 Thinking style the bit Phoenix portal at 139 us looks pretty good looks it's got
9:17 plenty of options sturdy construction and head turning appeal but it's far
9:23 from the smallest in our Showdown and really not that small for an ITX case so
9:28 make sure you've got the room for it for those of you looking to build a gaming
9:32 grade home theater PC to store and consume your content we like the
9:36 Silverstone M8 at $79 the dror abber Sentry does get an
9:42 honorable mention here for its stunningly slim and clean design but at
9:46 235 us it's very pricey finally for
9:51 those of you who just want a slick small form factor PC the nm1 at 185 us is the
9:58 Cadillac and the fractal design node 202 at 79 is the similarly functional if
10:05 less luxurious Camry the Dan Cas a 4 sfx
10:09 gets an honorable mention though when it's available but at
10:14 €230 it's a little tough to swallow
10:17 though it should be noted that in spite of their size all of these cases are
10:22 relatively easy to work with and performed very well in our testing so
10:26 there you have it this video was a metric but ton of work so guys drop a
10:31 thank you for Anthony Max and Ivan in the comments while you're at it cable
10:35 mods custom length individually sleeve cables actually did legitimately help us
10:39 complete these builds in some cases and
10:42 keep it real guys until next time real
