0:57 oh there we go being on time was the
1:00 most exciting thing that happened to me this week that was amazing being on time was
1:05 not at all the most exciting thing that happened to me this week unfortunately I'm sorry scrapyard Wars
1:12 man scrapyard Wars scrapyard Wars was sick lonus who isn't here thinks that it
1:18 thank you Taran
1:22 uh uh lonus thinks that it might be the best season yet I'm not sure because
1:28 season 4 was pretty freaking amazing uh that was the one with Bob and Rod yeah
1:33 but uh we'll see cuz it was it was very good the ending was really intense some
1:38 really crazy things happened but I'm going to try to not spoil uh any of it
1:42 because it was just so damn good what did you do all week I wrote
1:48 fastest possible scripts fantastic I did my job I read one of them I think mhm it
1:54 was really good okay there we go I did my job really good should should we
1:58 spoiler the title of one that you which
2:01 one the one that you read today or I read two of them today yeah oh um no
2:06 let's make a white for it yeah it'll be good though John John is not a merciful
2:10 god um oh
2:13 no oh no oh no oh no oh no happening oh
2:17 no get do you want to look onto mine what that sucks a lot do you want to do
2:22 that while I read the first topic uh
2:25 sort of but I can't show it on my yes I can show it on my screen oh crap okay
2:30 I'm just going to go ahead and get started then um reddit.com the build a
2:34 PC subreddit got lzed today yes as you
2:39 can probably oh that's being covered up ah there we go yes so Dynamic scenes so
2:44 lius was made into a deity with some of our usual sponsors on his robes as you
2:49 can see um so epic and this was funny because there was a sticky announcement
2:54 uh discouraging April Fool's pranks on the Forum yes and then this happened so
3:00 there we go you can see it right there H
3:03 I appreciated the the sidebar add in if we scroll down and go see the
3:07 sidebar um this subreddit is a community
3:11 dedicated to our one true God Linus crossed out tals Sebastion and then in
3:17 Brackets Luke fans also welcome here so
3:20 so if he's the one true God what would that make you well it's it's three parts
3:25 right oh so Christian try so there's like like gabin lusas question or wait I
3:31 guess in this weird situation because usually G Ben is the original but that's
3:35 fine keep talking uh gab L of Sebastian
3:39 me I guess there go is what they're displaying in this situation okay
3:43 usually usually I think I'm I'm not included but that's fine how sad for you
3:48 yeah okay yeah the hot Canadian thing as
3:51 well the hot Canadian thing that made that yeah okay let's find that real
3:55 quick so it it even shows in the top Corner as theore
4:00 which I find funny but yeah top thread right now hot Canadian if you vote this
4:04 up this image will show when you Google Search hot Canadian if you click on it
4:09 it's lonus at CES like a while ago I
4:13 struggling you want to move our feet out of way yeah good call wow that was not
4:17 what I intended to do what oh no oh no
4:21 xit crashing xplit is doing bad things
4:24 oh I can fix it we have the technology
4:27 good job it's still lagging okay we've got it we're going to float in the
4:31 middle of the screen for a sec sounds good I'm
4:34 down no it switched which sources what
4:38 that is so weird I'm moving the wrong Source but it's like working and anyways
4:43 cool there we go that was funny anyways
4:47 that's basically it I think there's also one other April Fool's out that wasn't
4:53 ours uh which was Corsair's I didn't even see no NVIDIA's is NVIDIA actually
4:59 live let me take off my scene for a
5:02 second uh this one was really funny it's April
5:06 fools in England G assist pass not they up yeah
5:10 so this is live okay so GeForce G assist
5:14 you can see the video playing in the background right now I'm going to move us again um what it it it does a lot of
5:21 different stuff they're saying that the GeForce GTX G assist takes advantage of
5:26 Cutting Edge Invidia artificial intelligence technology to bring the
5:29 next revolution in gaming uh stay in the
5:32 game so you can like eat in a Rainbow Six Siege match um and it'll like play
5:39 for you is part of the idea it's kind of like the um that old um urban legend
5:44 about the uh dude that bought the RV and he thought that cruise control meant it
5:48 would drive itself so he went in the back to like do his business and bad
5:53 things happened things happen yeah uh crush your enemies that'll like play for
5:57 you uh like sorry boss boost that part
6:00 will play for you envy nurture will tell you when you need to like drink more
6:04 energy drinks or whatever just it is
6:08 ridiculous this thing was pretty cool and it's just like a little flash drive
6:12 mhm I think we've all been at the point at at the point to be fair where we've
6:16 had to be told to drink energy drinks so
6:20 really when have you been told to drink energy drinks no
6:24 comment oh jeez okay I need to fix this thing
6:29 really quick which is actually like going to be a huge issue yeah why is it
6:33 doing that did that just happen again I don't know why it did that well I didn't
6:36 fix it the first time uh do you want to talk about the YouTube ad thing sure
6:40 okay so while Luke gets his horrible login issues fixed um next topic
6:46 YouTube's response to Advertiser flight cost creators hundreds of Brands froze
6:50 spending on YouTube after it was revealed that as reping alongside
6:54 objectionable and even terrorist fact videos yeah so this is not just limited
7:00 to YouTube um apparently companies like
7:03 Walmart and Pepsi so some pretty Heavy Hitters they said they they're not going
7:07 to buy ads anymore that Google Google Places on thirdparty websites and
7:12 Verizon has also said that it was going to suspend All Digital advertising not
7:15 related to search so obviously Google wants to try to do something about this
7:19 and so there are new filters that are now on YouTube that advertisers can
7:24 apply to campaigns that will help them avoid several types of quote unquote
7:28 objectionable content uh so there used to just be two filter
7:32 categories um that if you were putting an ad on YouTube um that you could
7:36 exclude one was called sensitive social issues and the other was called tragedy
7:42 and conflicts but there's now three more including sexually suggestive
7:46 Sensational and shocking while that's a lot of swws and profanity and rough
7:51 language and I'm doing the quotes because it's exactly how it was written on my screen uh so that's a little bit
7:58 um obviously there's some area there uh
8:01 so reportedly some channels that just touch on somewhat sensitive or slightly
8:06 offensive topics are being impacted by this um Ruben report uh h3h3 uh Ethan if
8:12 you know him um Steven Crowder who's a conserv conservative talk show host um
8:17 and several others so what are your thoughts on this Luke I don't know I
8:22 like it's it's not H it gets it gets a little messy
8:28 because like were in the space I feel like it would be a lot easier for me to
8:32 comment on it if it wasn't like our platform that we use and like our going
8:37 to put this video on eventually uh and the announcement is up like right now
8:41 for this stream on YouTube like uh I
8:44 don't know um it's it's a mixture of
8:48 things I can completely understand the companies that do not want to advertise
8:53 on terrorist backed YouTube channels I can completely understand the companies
8:57 that don't want their products associated with certain types of content
9:03 and I can completely understand YouTube making systems so that they don't have
9:07 to have their ads on certain types of content there's a reason why really late
9:13 night TV shows like shows that are on at like 1 or two in the morning get the
9:17 like crazy ads because the other shows
9:22 probably wouldn't even necessarily want to be associated with those ads it goes
9:25 both ways yeah like well yeah on like traditional TV if you to take out an ad
9:30 spot you would know like oh here's what this show is here's like the show is
9:33 rating you would buy an ad spot on the Super Bowl exactly and it would go on
9:37 the Super Bowl and you you know what's going to happen football except for that
9:41 one incident with Janet Jackson but other than that like you know what
9:45 you're getting so but but like that was an issue and like that's knowing what
9:50 content your ad is going to go on matters now the the issue with it is how
9:58 the Filter Works yeah and what what channels are
10:01 completely innocent and get flagged and therefore make tons of less money at the
10:06 same time it's YouTube this isn't like a government thing they can do whatever
10:10 they want YouTube could kill AdSense tomorrow M yeah they're they're under
10:14 suck yeah they're under no obligation um at least for now like to offer it just
10:18 to all comers you know um and and obviously this gets into like the
10:23 age-old question of oh who gets to decide what's okay and what's not like
10:26 obviously that's the scary part yeah and obviously you know oh if there's like an
10:30 Isis recruitment video or something then yes don't advertise on that that's a
10:34 little bit more cut and dry but like for example I I mentioned Steven Crowder a
10:38 minute ago and according to Mr Crowder he was saying that his channel is being
10:43 targeted by this but he's saying that liberal commentary channels are not and
10:49 regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum and if any of you
10:53 guys follow me on Twitter you might know I have a policy I don't tweet like what
10:57 my personal political views are I just that's just something I don't want to do
11:00 um but regardless what side of the aisle you're on um there are a lot of
11:04 commentators um both conservative and liberal that have an abrasive style
11:09 that's part of like their stick like like you said both sides ex exactly like
11:13 like Crowder is a conservative guy who part of his whole deal is I'm going to
11:17 come off as abrasive I think my viewers will like it but there are folks on the
11:21 left wing that do this too so what if he what he's saying is true then you know
11:25 you have to start wondering where do we draw this line as far as being
11:29 objectionable and outside of just concerns about fairness you also think
11:32 about oh if you're an Advertiser and
11:36 where where the advertisers along when would they say oh we're not happy about
11:40 getting our videos excluded like where do you find that balance yeah that's
11:44 that's difficult to do and then then there's the case for h3h3 where they're
11:48 like a comedy focused style Channel and
11:53 for them to get excluded is scary for people in comedy because it brings up
11:58 the whole like like one thing I actually thought up thought of while I was sitting here was I brought up the like
12:02 late night TV show idea South Park doesn't that show it like very normal
12:07 times I think it's I could be wrong about this I think it's now slightly
12:12 earlier than it used to be maybe some of you guys in the chat who were South Park
12:15 fans can tell us but I believe I don't have TV yet yeah it used to be on at
12:19 like I think 10 p.m. Eastern on Comedy Central and in the US I'm PR late yeah
12:25 they it might be earlier now because when it first came out you know people's
12:30 sensitivities were a little bit it was like oh my God this is like so well it's
12:33 not even that it's gotten like less racy it's just more that people seem to like
12:37 not care as much now because back then it was like oh my God this is like so shocking and nowadays it's just like oh
12:42 South Park whatever so yeah I don't know it's for comedy it's it's an issue
12:46 because uh there's the like if anything can be made fun of
12:51 everything should be able to make be made fun of kind of ideology which is
12:54 funny because they brought that up on South Park it's either all okay or none of it is yeah exactly and like I I
12:59 usually kind of go in that camp but then as an Advertiser I can see why you might
13:04 not want to and where do you draw the lines are all comedians in that bucket
13:09 do you have comedy as a bucket and not all ads go on Comedy or is it like
13:13 different types of Comedy if H yeah it's
13:17 ultimately I think it kind of comes down to the fact that a lot of people who
13:21 aren't like technophiles will be watching a YouTube video they might not
13:25 like they see an ad coming up and they don't understand like oh here's how
13:28 YouTube AdSense works works the videos are just kind of put randomly on other
13:33 videos the advertisers don't get a lot of say as as to what they go on but
13:37 people don't realize this and they'll start screaming anyway and I can so I can see why that will be a problem for
13:41 advertisers I sort of wish people just didn't
13:45 care like I feel like that would just be a lot easier for everyone sure I wish
13:49 people would startop would stop aggressively screeching about things too but I also want to toilet me the solid
13:53 gold so not going to happen yeah H I
13:57 don't know I'm I'm
14:01 I just wish it didn't matter so much like I I and I could totally see that
14:05 one person who sends an email to whatever company because they're like oh
14:09 I misclicked on this video and it's against My Views and I saw your ad on it
14:13 so I hate you and I'm never going to buy your products again but like just settle
14:16 down exact extremely quick aside because I know we have to move on if you ever go
14:20 onto the fcc's website they have a section um for public comment and
14:25 usually it's for people who are kind of at least familiar with regulations of
14:29 the law and they kind of give a somewhat informed opinion on stuff they're
14:33 thinking about doing but if you look at the stuff that specifically relates to
14:37 like decency and content or whatever it's just full of the most like
14:42 aggressive people who like clearly know nothing about how it works like this
14:48 sort of content is so bad get it off my TV so yeah and there's a lot of people
14:52 like that so yeah um apparently there used to be two filter categories
14:56 sensitive subject oh I went over this already okay unless did you talk about
14:59 the new ones uh yes I did yeah okay yeah uh YouTube has two statements did you
15:03 mention those uh they said there's a difference between the free exp
15:08 expression that lives on YouTube and that's very too too that's very true um
15:13 and the content that brands have told us they want to advertise a g so yeah I get
15:17 that if you're seeing fluctuations in your ad Revenue that's for us over the
15:22 next few weeks it may be because we're fine-tuning our ad systems
15:27 so yeah I don't know uh it's it's I'd be
15:31 interested if you could see like both Paths of the future to see which one
15:35 actually results in Less ad revenue on
15:38 YouTube you know what I mean because some channels might get completely axed
15:43 in terms of AD Revenue some channels might only get certain types of ads
15:47 because they're creating filters right so some companies should could be like
15:50 we don't care throw it on everything right um maybe some market research will
15:54 happen at one point or or at some point sorry and we'll get to yeah and but like
15:58 like the toal amount of money being invested into YouTube ads will this
16:01 potentially make it go up CU people are like oh okay we can filter more
16:05 aggressively that sounds like a better advertising revenue for us or will it go
16:10 down because they're aing too many things I guess it depends on like who the consumer base is for that company
16:14 you know obviously you have a company like Walmart and a company like Razer
16:18 their consumer bases are completely different so yeah anyways moving on to
16:23 more Tech related subjects because there's probably twitch chat screams
16:27 about that currently uh Ash of the singularity reses reses wow I can't talk
16:32 today happy I did those techque episodes earlier with a z oh yeah that sort of
16:37 worked out receives ryzen performance update up to
16:42 31% Improvement actually freaking epic
16:46 we're going to jump to the extreme Tech article this was posted on the Forum by
16:50 hk5 I'm also going to post this in the twitch chat I forgot that I like sort of
16:54 had to do things while I'm on the show that aren't just only talking all the
16:59 time H giant advertisement in my face
17:02 make that go away jump over to the screen there we go Ash The Singularity
17:07 massive boost it's pretty cool I'm not surprised it's ashes of all things like
17:12 it's barely even a game it it's it's essentially A Benchmark with gameplay
17:16 elements let's let's I want I want to try something out let's go to
17:20 Twitch uh that's our channel.tv but not
17:24 that I want to search up ashes on twitch's playing it right now see if
17:28 there's anyone playing
17:37 it games WAN Show
17:41 yes no channels currently
17:44 live I just I yeah I don't know well
17:48 that's uncomfortable it just it's like it's and it's a wonderful Benchmark I
17:53 love it it's a great Benchmark I just I don't I don't I don't personally know
17:58 anyone let's do a straw poll let's let's do a straw poll I want to see if there's
18:01 anyone who's actually like played through not not just like started a game
18:06 I want I want someone who's like played through the whole thing let's do a straw
18:11 pole have you played through want to check out more of the notes on ash
18:15 Singularity absolutely so while luk is working on
18:19 the straw pole um AMD cided Intel optimization as the biggest reason that
18:25 the ryzen chips uh weren't blowing things out of the water on 1080p Gam
18:28 ging tasks um so we have a game in ashes
18:32 which is uh publicly am I correct it's they're publicly in they publicly
18:36 announced it's optimized for AMD it's optimized for ryzen uh the performance
18:40 boosts are as we said significant up to 31% Improvement um 1.27 X performance
18:47 Improvement in GPU Focus Benchmark and a 12% boost in the CPU Focus Benchmark
18:51 nice mhm those are both really
18:54 significant but that GPU focused one is really intense yeah that's that is not a
19:00 small number and Bethesda has also pledged to work with AMD to improve game
19:04 performance in future titles and so really exciting yeah and so I guess
19:09 obviously that depends on what kind of system you have and what kind of games
19:12 you're into I mean it would be nice if oh the architectures were similar enough
19:16 to where you know you would get similar performance across the board but at the
19:20 same time you know we talk about one competition and we talk about okay we
19:25 want we want chips to have certain selling points and as long as devs can
19:30 optimize their games for either AMD or Intel that's going to be a selling point and I see you're very amused by the
19:34 straw pole no 94% a crushing victory for
19:38 the nose and there's probably a little bit of trolling going on with the yeses
19:41 too yeah like the I'm assuming I'm sure there are some that actually actually
19:46 did it but like I've never even clicked on the play button I've done a lot of
19:50 benchmarking in ashes It's a Wonderful Benchmark scales really well with
19:54 different things not surprised they got this update really quick love to see
19:57 them continuing on with different things their directx12 stuff was really cool to
20:01 play with I like that they have GPU and CPU focused I like that they have the
20:05 performance numbers for both so you can see what's throttling you and stuff it's
20:08 one wonderful Benchmark really really good really really like it um that
20:13 what's really exciting but what you were just talking about while I was messing
20:16 around doing stupid things uh is that that's going to be fun for us and that's
20:20 going to be fun for everyone that owns a ryzen chip because as these things go on
20:26 as a new game that comes out from Bethesda guess that's optimized for
20:29 ryzen will be able to see more advancements in the benchmarking
20:33 comparison because now individual game benchmarks that I used to do back in the
20:37 day will actually matter a lot more because instead of like oh the verses
20:42 between these systems well this one's 10% faster so every single game is 10%
20:47 faster on that system is give or take a little bit games specifically tuned with
20:52 ryzen in mind will do a lot better than just a backlog that all us reviewers
20:56 already had of games that didn't really have it in mind at at all and were made
20:59 for the Intel platform yeah if rizon undercuts Intel um as much as some folks
21:04 are predicting then it's going to continue to become a more attractive
21:08 platform for Dev so hopefully we'll see some more of this stuff and interesting
21:12 yeah absolutely I'm super stoked for that that's very cool that's that's in
21:16 my opinion cooler than the performance that came uh on launch which was already
21:21 like a really interesting story mhm moving on the Oculus co-founder Palmer
21:28 lucky leaves Facebook when asked uh if
21:32 Lucky's departure was voluntary Facebook Representatives declined to comment but
21:36 they cited a policy of not discussing internal personal matters or Personnel
21:41 matters sorry and I actually totally believe that it doesn't seem like
21:45 something they would necessarily hide they've been fairly transparent about
21:49 what's been going on there uh lucky willfully skipped the last Occulus
21:53 conference um after being a major personality at oc1 and oc2
21:58 yeah it's been a controversial thing for a while um because of his involvement
22:03 with Nimble America to be fair like Oculus was sold
22:08 for $2 billion he's a very wealthy dude
22:12 uh the $10,000 investment I is I believe what it was into Nimble America to like
22:17 make memes about Trump I don't think
22:20 that was a lot of money for him well as
22:23 I said a few minutes ago those of you who follow me on Twitter you will you
22:27 might know I do not discuss my personal political opinions and this kind of thing is why I don't have millions of
22:32 dollars to just give the causes but all the same I don't do it so yeah I like I
22:37 don't know the complete like all political
22:42 things aside I kind of feel bad for the dude M because like I'm really into VR
22:46 he did a lot of really amazing things for VR and now whether they are
22:51 commenting or not whether they made him leave or not I feel like he was kind of
22:56 squished out of that space yeah uh whether whether
22:59 through indirect pressure whether through direct pressure however it
23:04 happened we're probably not going to know either ever or not for a long time
23:08 even just cuz it was too public of a position yeah and I I I think he just
23:13 wanted to work on things and he was put
23:16 in a super public position and I don't feel like that was
23:21 uh I do not personally feel like that was the position that he personally
23:24 wanted to be in I have no idea cuz I'm not him but and there's a lot of people
23:29 who you know just aren't necessarily suited to wear both of those hats you
23:33 know you could be awesome at one thing but uh yeah that happens sometimes
23:38 unfortunate you know so and like from from talking to him in person from
23:41 reading some of his interviews from watching some of his interviews from
23:45 reading his own personal Reddit comments he didn't really like filtering like his
23:50 personal opinions and feelings and what not as like as most super public like
23:55 CEO kind of figures do uh so I don't
23:59 know maybe maybe he will enjoy his life
24:02 more now maybe this is a good thing for him I'm I'm sorry to see that he got
24:05 squished out of his space but if this was his move it might have been the
24:09 right one yeah I don't know yeah he he could go off and enjoy his billions not
24:12 a bad not a bad position to be in so I don't think he got all of that but like
24:16 I'm sure he's super wealthy multiple Millions yes yeah I'm sure he's very
24:20 very wealthy in other more funny news Sam a Samsung store caught fire the day
24:27 before uh gal the Galaxy S8 announcement
24:30 which is just sort of hilarious Tru is Stranger Than Fiction isn't it yeah I
24:34 don't even have anything like specific to even say about this but just LOL how
24:40 how does that happen like oh of course there's different
24:45 things this is a CNET video there it doesn't show the store after the fire
24:49 does it I will say they don't know what the cause of the fire is whether it was
24:53 exploding Electronics or something else but uh that would have been hilarious it
24:56 would have been but as of right now the official word is we don't know so but it
25:00 did happen yeah and this was pasted by hey yo on the Forum hey yo hey yo maybe
25:05 a Scot Hall fan for all those who remember him from the wrestling circuit anyway um I have no idea I am super
25:11 dating myself with that reference but I I don't have a clue what you're talking
25:14 about um Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy
25:17 I actually don't the Galaxy S8 and S8
25:21 plus um they have 3,000 Mah hour or 3500
25:25 Milah batteries as you'd probably expect
25:29 they have a rearm mounted fingerprint sensor as you'd probably expect they
25:32 have the Bigsby AI assistant with a dedicated button just in case you didn't
25:36 have enough AI assistants yet maybe you can cue them all up at the same time and
25:40 tell them all to do the same thing and maybe one of them will do it correctly
25:44 that would be a pretty interesting thing to do oh and the feature that they are
25:48 highlighting yeah let's see if I can actually find that on the site um
25:53 essentially they are touting the extensive safety testing their new
25:58 phones are going through as a feature so
26:02 I was saying earlier what A Brave New World we're living in where hey this
26:06 phone won't explode or has a lower likeliness to has a low likelihood of
26:12 explosion as a feature just let that sink in for a second hey your pants are
26:17 less likely to light on a fire so hopefully that's good and your car and
26:21 your house you know no big deal also it has an
26:25 18.5 by9 display which just straight up
26:29 pisses me off I don't even have a ton else to say outside of that no and and I
26:33 was at first glance I saw that and I was thinking oh maybe it's because they're
26:37 measuring how you know it's got the curve screen at the edge but that will
26:40 make it bigger the other way so I have no idea why hey let's let's add another
26:46 2.5 to the to to the to the to the ratio
26:49 just because why not so yeah I like it's so weird the LG G6 had an 18.9 aspect
26:57 ratio which is a little wonky but at least you've got that like 2 to one sort
27:00 of deal going on which is kind of cool
27:03 um they just had to add that .5 I feel I
27:07 feel like internally just because I it makes me dislike it so much I feel like
27:11 they're just trying to be like oh and artist has slightly more numbers and I'm
27:16 think yeah and I'm thinking oh they they could do that they could and I was sit
27:19 here thinking maybe that reduces down to a more common display ratio but I don't
27:24 believe it does it's not like the 2.35 to1 that they use like movies and stuff
27:28 it's not even that so it's just it's just strange the Galaxy S8 has a 5.8 in
27:34 display and the S8 plus has a 6.2 in
27:38 display each has a 2960 by 1440p pixel
27:44 resolution okay the S8 works out to 570
27:48 pixels per inch the S8 plus is 529 hence
27:52 the bigger screen same resolution lower PPI that's a lot of pixels per in Loop
27:57 it is that that that PP um I uh let's see here
28:03 I don't know the phone's right now
28:07 like I'm excited for the pixel 2 I don't
28:12 okay so there's another thing let's see if it's yeah it's right here special
28:15 Galaxy S8 Microsoft Edition to be sold in Microsoft stores and this is just so
28:21 ridiculous this is pretty bad I don't I don't even know what to say this was
28:24 posted by daring on the Forum who's a Floatplane pilot thanks dude
28:28 uh we're working on some really cool stuff that hopefully you will enjoy um
28:34 so Microsoft is unable to sell really their own mobile OS or that's what's
28:39 stated in here they really don't sell very many of them um so they're trying
28:43 to sell a customized version of the
28:47 S8 listen to this the phones are still running Android but with a number of
28:50 differences Cortana instead of Google Assistant offices pre-installed Outlook
28:55 instead of Gmail one drive instead of Google
28:59 Drive okay but did you did you did you tell
29:04 them did you mention the triple it yeah it doesn't say it in here but I'm going
29:08 to jump back to the notes of this part which is even better uh the update
29:13 will where did that go where did it go the update will
29:18 finally someone screwed up the dock someone did I notic because these are
29:22 notes from something else is it further down maybe or is it just no it's not oh
29:29 they kill the link that's maybe that was on purpose I don't know who nbed up the
29:33 dock well this is awkward this is awkward anyways what it said before I
29:38 can't find the it in the dock now but what it said before was that um it would
29:43 happen on the first time you updated the device it would download one drive it
29:47 would download Outlook it would download Cortana all that kind of stuff and
29:51 because of Bigsby being on the phone and Google Assistant being in Android you
29:56 would have three AI assistants services on your phone all at the same time so if
30:00 you get lonely you don't even need to go out and make friends anymore just talk to all three of your phone assistants
30:05 just just CU them all up at the same time how are you doing what are you up
30:08 to today I don't know I wish you could get them to like disagree with each other
30:13 and you could have like a debate you know that would be pretty
30:17 good some people just don't like leaving home what what I what drives me ins
30:22 saying about this is I'm pretty sure you could just extremely easily do this on
30:25 your own cuz you're just download like there's an Outlook app and there's a one
30:30 drive app and I believe there's the Cortana app yes but it's it's Samsung
30:35 they kind of have a history of the shenanigans they just blow tons of stuff
30:40 onto the phone even more bloat Weare yeah gross I don't like it at all makes
30:45 me unhappy very particularly anyways Samsung to sell refurbished Note 7
30:51 phones oh boy this was posted by SC
30:55 gazelle on the Forum we're going to check out the wired article that was
31:00 linked I'm going to drop this in the chat real
31:07 quick the phones will be refurbished broken down for parts or recycled one of
31:12 the three so H it's going to be
31:15 interesting to see like I'm really excited whether from user error or not
31:21 because it can happen from user error yeah but the first one of these to
31:24 explode or light on fire is going to be very fun just how how how news outlets
31:29 take it just how how people freak out I'm really excited even if someone just
31:34 straight up stabs it with a knife yeah don't think it's going to matter oh yeah
31:38 like it if it if it lights on fire it blows up I can see someone doing that
31:42 just for attention like let me dous this thing with gasoline take a match to it
31:46 and don't don't do this don't do this but yeah and and say oh look what
31:50 happened to my refurbished Samsung 07
31:53 man so like who who's that dude on YouTube tech rxs oh the the
31:58 he's gonna make one oh yeah I could see that okay anyways they say the Note 7 is
32:05 recycled and processed in an environmentally friendly manner which
32:09 like that's that's cool thank you that's good I guess um they're going to remove
32:14 semiconductors and Camera modules for test sample production purposes
32:19 basically they're going to try to use them in many ways and refurbish and sell
32:22 them as well which like I don't know I
32:25 know a lot of people that really like note 7s apparently they've had a
32:30 97% return rate this isn't in there either what the heck happened to the
32:33 dock they had a 97% return rate of note 7s in South Korea but significantly
32:39 lower percentages of returns elsewhere and they're also planning on absolutely
32:44 killing I also don't see this in the dock but it was earlier I don't know
32:48 what happened um on absolutely killing any potential for the phone to charge at
32:53 all through a software update they have reduced the total possible charge of the
32:58 phone and now they're just going to make it so you can't charge it um but also
33:01 noted is that they expect clever users
33:04 to just not update so that they won't have that
33:09 issue so at this point I just wonder why you would bother maybe just to be a
33:14 contrarian maybe Fight the Power Man Yeah Yeah with that um speaking of fight
33:20 the power let's let's scroll very far
33:24 down to our sponsor spots oh good lord
33:27 thank you Moss for sponsoring the W show and you can fight with
33:32 power using moss spring cables that might be the worst add tie-in spot I've
33:37 ever done so these guys are various types of USB cables what do you have
33:41 over there C to C C to C so if if you
33:45 have if you have a Nexus 6p like I do
33:48 which I just bought yesterday then you can use one of these because as a USBC
33:52 Port yeah you know what okay I'm going to take a quick aside during this ad
33:56 spot uh but I would I I went to my parents and my phone was dying and I was
34:00 like crap I guess I'm not going to be able to charge my phone cuz I have USB type-c phone and I was like there's no
34:04 way they'll have USB type-c cables my mom has a 6p and thus has a bunch of USB
34:11 type-c cables she has more than me how about and she was ready to go yeah maybe
34:15 with moss cables I'm not sure well there is a person that has more USB type-c
34:18 cables than you that's amazing yes it was it was surprising and odd how about
34:22 that slightly uncomfortable I finally got this box open that wasn't Moss
34:26 Cable's fault that was me being silly but one other cool things about these
34:29 they're braided they're nice they have a little spring thing on the end this is why they're called Spring cables so you
34:33 can like bend them over and they'll snap back in place which is actually pretty
34:36 sweet and that's like to help them not like get screwed up right at the joint
34:40 and stuff which is cool and if you use their organizer things this one is the
34:45 uh sixpack what's that called the MOs menos Minos but the there's a bigger one
34:50 just called the Moss organizer if I pull this out there we go they're magnetic
34:56 and stuff and being metal on the ends
34:59 can snap to them so you can put the organizer on something like your desk
35:05 and then use this to snap the cable down well this end would probably be plugged
35:09 into something else so this end can snap there and when you're not using it it
35:12 can just sit on here so instead of having like weird not very goodlooking
35:18 cable managing thingies like these where they're just like weird white things and
35:23 you just shove your cable in there kind of look like butt cheeks and it's not great yeah you can and it you have to
35:28 shove it back in and take it back and stuff there magnets cool and last but
35:33 not least there's the Moss backpack which has a giant power cable
35:38 coming out of the end which might be a little bit confusing oh I didn't even
35:41 notice that there's little spots for your fingers so you can unplug it from the wall more
35:45 easily I don't think I've ever seen that on a power cable before that goes into
35:49 the bag aesome where you can find one power plug for like your laptop or
35:54 whatever and two USB power plugs which could be pretty nifty cuz if you have
35:58 two USB banks that you have often plugged into your bag I guess and like
36:03 your laptop you could have all those plugged in and then just as you're moving around plug this thing in inside
36:09 your backpack so you don't have to have your laptop or whatever exposed hassle
36:12 free charging if you're not using your device at a particular time yeah that
36:16 magnet looked pretty strong I think even Insane Clown posy would be proud of that
36:19 magnet I think it's amazing moving on we have Zotac so Zotac
36:25 is talking about their en10 otx Magnus
36:28 en10 series is one of the smallest VR ready mini gaming PCs available it is
36:34 pretty wicked I've seen it a few different times and it is available with
36:38 the GTX 1060 or GTX 1070 configuration
36:42 and it features Intel Skylake Core i5 6400t which is pretty wicked those
36:47 things are cool and there's the VR go which is in my opinion probably the best
36:52 implementation of a VR backpack I'm not just saying that because it's during the
36:56 sponsor spot I really like that they have hot swappable batteries and I
36:59 really like the capacity of the batteries cuz you can natur game for a
37:02 pretty significant amount of time while swapping those out it's actually pretty
37:06 cool I just didn't do a dedicated video on it cuz no one is really all that I
37:10 can't say no one there is a very noticeably smaller percentage of people
37:14 that are interested in VR content right now so there you go but it is a it is a
37:19 very acceptable amount of weight for a backpack it feels like like when you
37:23 play a military style game it feels like actually really
37:29 yeah like I don't know it's not heavy enough that it'll actually feel tedious
37:32 but it is heav heavy enough that you realize that it's there which can
37:35 actually help I think the hot SW battery thing is probably the best solution that
37:39 we're going to have until we figure out extreme extremely efficient like gpus or
37:44 like extremely high capacity batteries and there's a couple that are like that
37:48 um but that one had the vrgo has the best capacity I do believe then there's
37:51 the 1080 mini which I have made a video on showing people the different ways
37:55 that you can use it because I didn't think zot actually did a very good job
37:58 of that sorry zot but I did it for you anyways so it's fine it has ice storm
38:04 cooling a 90mm fan for increased static
38:07 pressure and a 100 mm fan for maximum air flow there is actually two different
38:11 fans on the cooler they look relatively similar at first but you can tell that
38:15 one of them is slightly larger than the other anyways that's it for the sponsor
38:20 spots moving up we have a few extra
38:23 things in here that is interesting this was just sort of sad I don't really know
38:27 how else to even say it it was posted by numlock 21 on the Forum uh razor servers
38:32 went down resetting all device settings
38:36 for keyboards and mice that didn't have their settings saved in the cloud and
38:40 that's actually a still a scary thing
38:43 because you'd think at first like oh yeah but the devices have local storage
38:47 that is not a default setting it is not a default setting for
38:52 your device to store your settings locally they are normally stored in the
38:56 cloud so a huge number of people's devices were set to default and that is
39:02 just sort of disappointing because a lot of people have't really dialed in and
39:05 don't necessarily memorize all their settings catastrophe of global
39:08 proportions Skynet screwing up our RGB pretty much RGB is
39:13 important yeah I guess it was RGB profiles
39:18 too no yes I hope my laptops is still
39:21 the same cuz I actually like spent a while fine-tuning it I'm not even
39:24 kidding cuz I call it Haunter and it's black and purple themed so I took like
39:28 the fire preset but made it purple fire and I have like two different tones
39:34 of purple for the fire oh yeah you're so
39:37 see I'm also using fire mine is like it's blue and white but yeah the the
39:41 fire effect's awesome like I'm huge fan of yeah I guess you did that for Duke
39:45 yeah but Brandon has it as the default which actually looks kind of like a
39:48 fireplace at first glance it's it's and the thing is I think with PC
39:52 customization the amount of effort you put into it like it's not like a liquid
39:56 it's more like it's more like a gas it's going to expand to fill what the what
40:01 options are available on your setup so if you have this razor Chrome with like
40:05 oh yeah I get like a billion customization options make it yours I mean you're going to want to do that so
40:10 there you go so actually kind of a catastrophe for some folks speaking of
40:13 it I'm I'm going to hijack this super hard um but if if anyone can help me
40:21 find I want
40:25 stickers that I can put on my lapt laptop that can make the
40:30 face but I couldn't figure out how to do that so basically the back of my laptop
40:34 right now is flat purple okay it is one
40:37 type of purple that looks pretty similar to Hunter's type of purple but I want to
40:41 have face three different stickers one for each eye and one for the
40:47 mouth but I haven't I don't know anyone that sells like individual stickers for
40:53 those things and I don't know how I would go about making that yeah so if
40:58 people want to like tweet me with like telling me how the heck I could do that
41:01 that would be amazing and I would love that because like I want to use
41:05 wallpaper engine to somehow get like an animated wallpaper of like Haunter
41:10 floating there and then I want to have Haunter stickers on the back and then
41:14 purple debrand everywhere sure the
41:17 purple fire like for the stickers you could just find like a vector image or
41:22 just a really high res res image of Haunter and then isolate the stuff like
41:26 in Photoshop is there like websites that you can buy like I don't know anything
41:30 about how I do this is there like websites you can upload images and print stickers from yeah or you could just get
41:34 like a print to do it yeah like I'm I don't see why you won't be able to do
41:38 that and then you'd cut it out I guess I
41:42 got my wife's wedding ring on Etsy I feel like you could do this you know
41:45 like yeah yeah and she loves it by the way the internet is wonderful I wasn't
41:49 laughing at it because of that I was just laughing at because like holy crap modern times no I was just waiting for
41:53 people in the Stream to say in the chat to say things so oh yeah I know I'm I'm
41:56 sure she loves it uh but yeah I like I just I would love to be able to do that
42:00 properly that would be super cool Domino's is beginning to deliver pizzas
42:04 in Europe with robots they've already done this in New Zealand I don't know if
42:07 they've done this elsewhere but the first place in Europe to get it will be
42:10 Hamburg Germany this was posted by Co
42:13 gunnel on the Forum hopefully I said that correctly
42:20 uh dropping in the chat jumping into the
42:25 article which is still loading I guess we'll just watch it load why not oh
42:29 there it is mail on Daily Mail
42:32 online that's the little robot guy it
42:36 sends a code to your phone similar to like a two-factor authentication kind of
42:40 deal and then you have to type the code into the robot in order to get the pizza
42:44 I thing is amazing I hope it's tamperproof cuz what's to keep someone all that crosswalk from just oh yeah
42:48 Pizza well no the code you have to enter the code in order to access the pizza
42:52 what if they have a hammer yeah yeah there's got to be cameras on it or
42:57 something I would really hope so I also wouldn't be surprised if they only run
43:01 them like it doesn't say anything about that in here but I wouldn't be surprised
43:04 if they only run them at like certain times
43:07 Pino What A Brave New World we're living in there's actual Pizza B I love how
43:11 there's like person that got low to the ground with their camera and took it at
43:15 like specific time of day of this like
43:18 little robot what was that line um from um what movie was it I think it was Bill
43:23 Murray in Groundhog Day it reminds me of Rome and how the Sun hits the buildings
43:28 in the afternoon it's like that but with a pizza bot yes yeah look at him go
43:34 that's fantastic he's gone oh there he goes oh
43:37 look we go that is that that's just how like no one even really reacts I would
43:42 be so interested if that drove past me yeah oh well that's exciting I don't
43:47 know why it's exciting it just is it's a pizza bot how was it not exciting you
43:52 shouldn't even have to explain that that's fair that's fair my my favorite
43:56 thing um if I can find it here that happened
44:00 um as right when I say the the name here everyone's going to know what I'm
44:03 talking about this was posted by SC gazelle on the Forum as well along with
44:07 the previous post we're going to use the link from The Verge Elon
44:11 Musk launches neural link to make you a
44:15 cyborg which is so
44:19 exciting so very cool going to post that
44:22 in there El must launch his lur neural link
44:27 to merge the human brain with AI so this
44:30 is like a very very
44:35 early company they're not planning on doing any public things for a while
44:39 they're setting themselves up as a research company in the medical space in
44:43 California I don't expect anything to come from this for quite some time I
44:47 personally view Elon musk's companies in two different categories there's like
44:50 the this is going to make a difference now category like Tesla and like Tesla
44:55 like SpaceX like Sol cities and back in
44:59 the day before he sold it like PayPal and then I see the other bucket which is
45:03 the like Elon Musk likes researching this and is interested and wants to
45:07 drive it further yeah like this might happen one day yeah like his company
45:11 that researches the potential issues and with AI and how to make safe Ai and then
45:16 now this what I like how someone in the chat Twitch Plays Dion already said DSX
45:21 so for you DSX fans maybe one day you could you too can Unleash Your Inner Bob
45:26 Page hope not for world domination purposes but maybe for cool things I
45:30 don't know what that those would be you might have to ask Elon himself but yeah
45:34 yeah so more recently musk told the crowd in Dubai over time I think we will
45:39 probably see a closer merger of biological intelligence and digital
45:43 intelligence it's mostly about the bandwidth the speed of the connection
45:47 between your brain and the digital version of yourself particularly output
45:51 wonder what the bandwidth of the human brain is p wickie
45:55 topic neural lace humans could improve
45:59 themselves so interesting would you do it if someone was like I can put a chip
46:03 in your brain and it will enhance all all all parts of your life you'll be
46:08 slightly better at everything but what what's the risk you're asking me if I
46:12 would do it because the way you describe it there's no reason to say no but
46:15 obviously there's probably some sort of downside you're not telling me so no reason to say
46:20 no how invasive of a surgery are we looking at well they're putting it in
46:24 your brain yeah I guess they'd have to open
46:28 your skull H I think about it yeah yeah
46:31 I could be better at most things I could be better at almost everything actually
46:35 so I would do it yeah if Elon Musk was
46:39 like hey Luke that's all he'd have to say that's
46:45 your standard that's your standard if Elon Musk comes up and
46:50 does that's I'm in I'm done no worries
46:53 I'll sign papers hand them over I'll do it but yeah no if if if I was offered to
46:58 be in some form of program uh I would I would probably engage just like all the
47:03 tweets that I've sent to Elon Musk asking to be the media contact that goes
47:08 to Mars like here's my resume I have
47:11 done the twitters I have done the videos
47:14 send me to Mars I won't be able to do the other stuff I'm too much of a dummy
47:18 I can't do the sciency things unfortunately I'm sorry I Bard a rocket
47:22 but I I will get on that rocket and I will make so many videos but what ever
47:27 is going on and I will be so interested and I will die on Mars I don't need to
47:31 come back yeah you could go up to Mars and like you could estimate because the
47:35 gravity on Mars is different you could drop a GPU onto the Martian soil and see
47:40 okay like what's what's what's the likelihood of damage versus Earth I
47:45 could make holy videos about all the tech that we have uh yeah that would
47:49 be that's something we could do hey um
47:52 portable solar panels even crappier because now we're on Mars and they're
47:56 further away from the Sun Tech Ricky videos there you go yeah how does how
48:00 does solar panels function on Mars Just well the same except except not as well
48:06 like it if you like it dislike it if you didn't so yeah well they you'd be able
48:09 to probably float them more easily you would yeah that's true yeah there's a
48:14 little bit more exposure so they'd probably get more energy Define exposure
48:19 exposure to what would an atmosphere reduce how much and like distance to the
48:23 Sun reduce how much energy you can get from solar panels that's I'm talking
48:27 about because the sun's I I imagine the sun is like less bright on Mars that's
48:31 why I said they probably don't work as well so unfortunate
48:36 yeah which don't quote me on that but I'm pretty sure that's true so I did not
48:41 know that I have not thought about or do dove into that so I'm going to refrain
48:45 from making contact yes and that's why I said don't quote me on that there's a
48:49 quote at the end of this article that says most healthy individuals are uncomfortable with the idea of having a
48:54 doctor crack open their skull that might be true unless you're me and our giant
48:58 Fanboy Elon Musk if he's like this is a good idea I have done it I will be
49:02 like so shall I what if may maybe it's
49:06 not even a chip maybe maybe there'll be like nanites that you can just inject
49:10 right here and they'll just sort of migrate to your brain super see I would
49:14 be down for that too go both arms yeah yeah strap them up yeah yeah that's how
49:19 it works if you have twice as many nanot you'll be twice as good at whatever it
49:22 is you're trying to improve at but yeah yeah no I'm also weird where like even
49:26 before I started having intense knee problems being like really into
49:30 sprinting and stuff I would look at the guys that unfortunately were amputees at
49:35 the knee and get like those those curved metal legs and how they're like so much
49:42 faster with Envy like I want to be that
49:45 fast yeah it's like take them off human
49:48 but better yeah yeah I I'm I'm yeah I
49:52 was talking to John earlier I am not Adam Jensen Adam Jensen up and goes I
49:57 didn't ask for this I wake up and go oh damn thanks yeah like I'm down exactly
50:03 yeah when this body dies hopefully I
50:06 have another I don't care I just want my
50:10 Consciousness I'm trying to think like what the most appropriate application of
50:13 your Consciousness on cyberspace would be probably like adjudicating memes or
50:16 something like that like yes like like like Know Your
50:21 Meme could just like assimilate your
50:24 Consciousness or or maybe even like compensate you somehow I have no idea
50:28 how that would work but anyway um you wouldn't need much compensation just for
50:33 some Digital Services I guess you'd have to pay for the
50:37 storage in some way so like Dropbox or
50:40 AWS storage of some kind probably AWS instead of giving you uh the BC medical
50:45 services plan you would get like free malware scans and stuff like that
50:48 because you would be just code that's a good call yeah yeah you'd probably want
50:53 to pay for certain services like Netflix so you could just immediately watch
50:57 every single movie that they have oh yeah yeah I guess you could do that if
51:00 you were code and what else do we have on the dock anyway I don't think there's a ton
51:05 else we're coming to the end of the show oh this is why this conversation is
51:08 going worse it yes that's actually pretty much it there's a couple other
51:11 things it wasn't a super intense week in terms of news it was a super intense
51:15 week in terms of scrapyard Wars but you guys aren't going to be able to see that
51:19 for a while a while at the least um
51:23 those take a while to edit I believe Ed is already working on it but just like
51:28 ingesting that much footage onto our server is a feat in itself because
51:32 there's multiple days of tons and tons of footage um and then he needs to go
51:37 through and I believe it's called shot logging instead of shot listing because
51:42 they were already done not really sure how that works but he has to like build
51:45 the story arc out of shots and then pick what shots are actually worth using and
51:50 what shots aren't really worth using and then try to chop those out and figure
51:54 out how many episodes we can squish into reasonably figure out the episode Time
51:59 start editing them all get them all into rough Cuts so we can kind of see how far
52:02 they're going to go and so on and so forth so I don't know Samsung 34 foot H
52:09 uh HK 34ot 4K HDR LED display for movie
52:14 theaters super crazy this was posted by
52:17 WM groom AK I guess I chopped in his
52:21 name with it um on the Forum so we're going to jump there I don't know if this
52:25 this we're going to jump to hot Hardware actually I don't know if they have an
52:29 actual picture of it I don't know if
52:32 that is it or not Samsung is tting a
52:36 nearly Infinity to one I'm quoting them contrast
52:41 ratio pretty that's a pretty bold that's a very bold claim it is very bold I
52:46 believe this is the first time that movie theaters would have HDR mhm which
52:50 is pretty cool uh I don't know if I've said this on the W show before but what
52:53 the first time that I ever saw HDR was that the in viia suet and I mentioned
52:58 how HDR can actually make you feel slightly uncomfortable have I talked to
53:01 you about this no um the Nidia guy really didn't like me bringing this up
53:06 um he was notably upset uh but they had
53:11 a very dark scene with a like bright
53:15 light in the middle and it did show off how it's like oh wow that is a bright
53:20 light instead of just a white spot on the screen but because of that it was so
53:25 bright and everything else was so dark that it was actually like whoo yeah and
53:30 like normally in movies like oh you see an explosion you see whatever it's all
53:33 going on but it's not going to like make you pull back it's not going to like
53:38 hurt your eyes really uh this was like a it was an uncomfortable part of the
53:42 screen to look at because it was so bright compared to everything else um
53:46 but yeah anyways it'll be 4096 by 21
53:50 or yeah 496 by 2160 resolution um and
53:56 the its peak brightness and this is what I'm talking about its peak brightness
54:00 will level at 10 times higher the standard cinema projectors at 146 FL
54:06 compared to 14 FL I'm guess guessing
54:09 this is advantageous for like dark scenes where it may be hard to tell
54:13 things apart detail levels quality all kind stuff yeah but like I don't know
54:19 it's going to be pretty interesting because I think you're going to get a lot more of the like something happens
54:24 on screen and the whole audience goes oh kind of effect because if it go if
54:28 there's like if you're in a really dark room and it's like a horror scene and
54:31 someone's like sitting in the chair and they like don't know what's going on then all of a sudden like the lamp turns
54:35 on right beside them like that's actually going to be a really like
54:38 withdrawing moment cuz it's going to be really freaking bright it sounds like
54:42 that um THX noise they used to play before movies but
54:47 like yeah pretty much with that I think
54:51 the show is over so time to roll the intro I guess outro outro yeah it's the
54:56 intro button we're we're introducing the end of the show yeah it's also the exact
55:01 same thing that we play at the beginning of the show that's true I've always kind of thought that we should maybe have
55:05 like a slightly different one for the end of the show MH like maybe we pick up
55:08 the couch and leave let's make that happen holy crap
55:13 that's a great idea that actually totally makes sense which wouldn't even
55:17 be that hard to do because we could just do it in reverse lus finally actually picks up
55:21 the couch and helps me carry it out instead of just dropping it every single time yeah why we make that happen feel
55:26 like that wouldn't be hard to do
55:38 right right right here yes just reverse this or maybe you
55:43 could just keep walking to the end and
55:46 go and just like go out of frame whatever I'm out of here anyways Moss
55:51 cables cables bags organizers get him at the thing so Tech
55:58 they make graphics cards and small computers and backpacks crazy stuff okay
56:04 goodbye I forgot where the button is oh
56:07 God there we
