0:00 today on my video blog we'll be unboxing a new product from Microsoft that's
0:03 actually pretty exciting this is the lifecam cinema and the biggest feature
0:08 on this camera is that it is true 720P
0:12 HD with clear Smooth video so basically what that means is webcams are finally
0:16 HD so let's get this baby open and uh
0:21 actually you know what let's have a look at the back first so here it outlines
0:24 some of the important new features of this particular webcam first of all you
0:28 got 720p which we already mentioned at 30 frames per second world world class
0:32 Optics so they're using an actual glass element lens rather than a plastic lens
0:37 which is what you typically see on a webcam clear high quality video they
0:40 show an example of uh clear versus standard video now one moment we're
0:46 actually going to do our next unboxing using this camera so we'll see exactly
0:49 how good that clear high quality video is next is you got Crystal Clear audio
0:54 so they're saying they've got a digital noise cancelling microphone right on the
0:57 top of the aluminum unit so let's get this baby open and here we go so first
1:03 we're going to find the USB cable covered in a little sticker that
1:08 protects it presumably and it also warns you that you should install the driver
1:13 software before you plug in the webcam
1:17 okay so there's our little genuine Microsoft chiny sticker got love that
1:21 okay what else do we have in here oh I see what looks like a disc so it's in
1:26 about a zillion different languages most of which I cannot read but I found this
1:30 this start here excellent okay so let's open this up kind of a it's kind of a
1:34 clever little box so it of opens up like that and here we go start here again so
1:39 this is your quick start guide and it's going to I'm just going to get up here
1:42 so that I can reach a little bit better so it shows you okay you install the driver you plug in the USB then you
1:48 position your camera and then presumably you use it okay they want you to use MSN
1:53 Messenger that's perfectly appropriate there we go there's your lifecam 3.0
1:57 software you're probably better off to download the latest drivers off the
2:00 Microsoft website however okay then a
2:03 product guide yeah okay so let's get to the product itself so let's pull it out
2:08 of the packaging here if I can yeah there we go and then
2:13 we got a little plastic window so that they can present the product in a retail
2:18 store and then H I'm going to have to
2:22 try and figure out how this comes off wow it's like a four-step process so
2:27 there we go we removed that piece and then uh uh
2:31 H we can go like this and oh oh no there
2:35 we go there we go and then we can remove this no we can't remove the plastic
2:39 piece okay so we're going to just pull the cable out which I can not quite do
2:45 yet okay there okay we finally got it
2:48 out but I still have it in a little oh okay plastic clam shell comes off right
2:53 there and there it is awesome oh this is
2:57 cool actually here it's got a flexible little stand here so you can actually
3:01 hook it onto anything it's got a pretty good feel to it it's kind of rubberized
3:05 so it's really really grippy and that's really neat you know what we got a
3:08 monitor right here I'm just going to get the cameraman to uh point at the monitor
3:12 so I can demonstrate just how this works so you hook it at the front and then you
3:16 just throw the little grippy bit on there and you can aim it at any angle
3:19 you want and it actually rotates here as well so that's that's a really cool
3:24 mounting system I really like that and then there's one button on the top which
3:28 has a picture of a phone and the and a phone okay and then you've got a
3:32 microphone and that is it that is the unit itself there's your little HD logo
3:37 you can see the Glass lens in there just going to turn it around so we'll see you
3:41 can actually turn it all the way around and thank you for checking out my
3:46 unboxing stuck of the lifecam cinema
