0:00 so i signed up for dell's promotional newsletter a little while back because i
0:04 bought something from dell and got signed up by accident thanks dell but
0:10 every once in a while i do see something interesting in there
0:14 a 200 laptop you say maybe that would be great for a back to
0:19 school feature but our rep over there is a regular viewer
0:23 so he was understandably hesitant to send us a base model of anything
0:29 and said he'd prefer if we checked out the 400 version so
0:35 this thing then well there are three compelling reasons
0:40 not to buy it
0:48 cyber power pcs lineup of gaming desktops feature Intel 7th generation
0:52 core i7 processors check them out at the link below
0:57 reason number one not to buy this 400
1:00 laptop this 200 one the best part of the
1:05 little blue inspiring p24t is the price
1:10 the keyboard is pretty cramped the tn screen is kind of poop and it's far from
1:16 fast but it does exactly what it needs to do
1:20 and honestly exceeded our expectations for the price
1:23 like come on this thing is hardly more than the cost
1:28 of the included full copy of Windows 10
1:31 and after a bit of practice i was able to type quickly and easily write word
1:37 documents and forum posts with it thanks to the small but comfortable matte
1:42 surface touch pad i mean i'm not sure that i'd want to use it to write up the
1:46 script of my next big hollywood blockbuster but let's face it if i was
1:51 working on stuff like that on a regular basis i would have more than two hundred
1:55 dollars for my laptop usability wise i
1:59 can live with the single tasking paradigm enabled by the two core celeron
2:04 processor for the most part and i'd say the screen is the biggest bummer colors
2:09 are pretty flat viewing angles aren't great and it doesn't get bright enough
2:13 for use outside but if you plan on watching youtube videos
2:18 or netflix it'll be good enough and i
2:21 wouldn't go as far as to say it's actually terrible like other cheap
2:25 screens i've seen before the only true disappointment came when
2:30 we opened it up i was hoping that it would be possible
2:34 to add a hard drive or SSD in the future and upgrade the RAM but they're both
2:39 soldered to the motherboard with no expansion slots so i guess in a nutshell
2:44 the best thing about this product is that there's nothing
2:48 so bad as to make it a total deal breaker and at 200
2:52 occasionally on sale for 150 that's all i can really ask for i can
2:57 only really recommend it as a secondary
3:01 computer if you spent all your money on a desktop this will work great when you
3:05 need to go out into the real world god forbid
3:08 but it still scrapes by with a recommendation so why doesn't its 400
3:14 dollar cousin get the same treatment reason number two
3:18 the inspiron p25t is pretty much more of the same
3:23 and sits right around the amount of money that lots of people think they
3:27 want to spend on a laptop but our problem is that we don't feel
3:32 like they're getting twice the experience for something that costs
3:36 twice as much upgrades on this guy include a 500 gig hard drive
3:41 double the RAM a two in one capable touchscreen and a slightly better
3:46 processor the issue though
3:50 is that the 5400 RPM hard drive is slow
3:54 as molasses and i mean maybe this is
3:58 microsoft's fault but Windows 10 chugs
4:02 on a mechanical drive
4:05 simple stuff like switching modes
4:08 hitting the start menu opening files or really anything is just such a slog plus
4:15 with almost everything done on the internet now the need for large amounts
4:20 of local storage is becoming
4:24 very limited except in gaming rigs
4:27 workstations or desktop computers with a large amount of
4:31 storage because you put all your stuff on them so when you consider that the
4:35 biggest problem is that we still need a
4:39 primary computer just like the 200 laptop but without the
4:44 practically disposable price tag to make it more palatable i mean to be clear
4:49 tablet conversion and touch will be important to some folks and the
4:54 performance is better but performance is
4:57 better in a way that's only really noticeable if you compare them side by
5:00 side like you're still buying the type of computer where you type in a web
5:05 address and then you take a sip of coffee while it loads
5:08 so what do we recommend then for someone who's on a budget but with more than two
5:13 hundred dollars to spend reason number three for not buying this
5:18 the inspiron p69g i mean sure this isn't the be-all and
5:23 end-all of 800 laptops but it represents
5:27 the kind of improvements in productivity that you can get by increasing your
5:31 budget to the bang for the buck level everything gets an upgrade with a core
5:37 i5 processor 8 gigs of RAM decent i o
5:40 including HDMI and usb 3 an SSD and a
5:44 full hd ips touch display
5:48 it checks all the boxes that i would consider for a computer that i would
5:52 actually recommend to somebody that i like provided they don't need faster
5:56 than one by one Wi-Fi i do realize that eight hundred dollars
6:00 is a big jump from four hundred dollars but these can regularly be found for
6:05 under 700 and functionally speaking it's not even in the same ballpark as the
6:10 other two it's not startlingly fast sure
6:13 but i never got annoyed at it you don't have to worry about running out of RAM
6:17 just from opening a few tabs and the processor is fast enough for some
6:23 programming work some basic image editing matlab or even some light cad if
6:29 you want to view small assemblies this kind of stuff is simply not possible on
6:34 the cheaper laptops so for this one then the outside is simple but the keyboard
6:39 is satisfying enough that this whole review was typed on it without annoyance
6:42 the brushed plastic finish looks pretty smart and chassis rigidity is overall
6:47 very good though i think the wobble on the two in one convertible touchscreen
6:51 could be better and this model isn't available without it at the end of the
6:55 day though the choice is yours battery life was decent across the board seems
6:59 that problem has pretty much been solved with low-end laptops the webcams on all
7:03 three were comparable and surprisingly good although Windows hello on the 800
7:09 model is a really nice touch and all of them feature speakers that are
7:13 comparable to a decent smartphone so not that great
7:18 wrapping this up though honestly i don't really have a special
7:22 relationship with any of these exact models from dell and the main goal of
7:26 this video was to hopefully help you narrow down your search in terms of
7:30 pricing and the features that we think
7:33 matter when you're looking for a secondary laptop or a back to school
7:37 machine so you don't want to spend too much
7:41 but you also don't want to spend too little but then also spending even less
7:44 might be even better than that optima is one of those brands that
7:49 unless you've been seriously shopping for a high-end projector you might not
7:53 have ever encountered but
7:56 they're worth encountering now if you're looking for a high quality
8:00 projector at two thousand dollars the optima uhd60 is not especially cheap but
8:07 what it is is an incredible value up until now 4k projectors have been much
8:13 more expensive and the uhd60 features an
8:16 abundance of image quality technologies including high dynamic range
8:21 compatibility for enhanced color and black and white
8:24 dynamic black for amazing contrast and ultra detail for a clear crisp picture
8:30 basically in a nutshell it's got stunning picture quality for movies
8:35 sports and gaming with great color black
8:38 levels clarity and detail pretty much no matter how big your
8:42 screen is as to risk it actually does matter how big your screen is so bottom
8:46 line it's a great bang for the buck with one of the best pictures available today
8:51 lots of features including lens shift which makes installation super a lot
8:55 easier and it's the best price per inch
8:58 compared to any other 4k product tv or projector check it out at the link in
