0:00 now here's a product category that hasn't really seen any innovation in the
0:04 last little while I mean yeah they've gotten smaller they've gotten bigger but
0:07 this is finally something cool this is the Patriot transporter XT
0:14 rage no I don't think it's XT at all
0:18 yeah transporter XT rage I was totally right okay this is a quad Channel USB
0:23 flash drive it's available in a bunch of different capacities and it offers up to
0:27 25 megabytes per second right speeds so
0:31 that is way faster than pretty much any
0:35 other USB drive that doesn't have quad Channel
0:39 performance comes with a 25e warranty from
0:44 Patriot and I guess let's open it up shall
0:47 we okay so if I can I I've been turning
0:50 it over trying to figure out how to open the box and I still actually don't know
0:54 so I'm going to resort to using my trusty knife and maybe you split it
1:01 that looks dangerous oh hey look there's a USB plug on the back oh no that's the
1:05 front oh
1:10 wow there okay so we sliced something
1:14 I'm not sure if we sliced the right thing okay transporter XT rage
1:22 rage come on up come on up little
1:27 guy when it comes out there might be much rage
1:33 Fury all right there we go we've
1:36 extracted it from the packaging always be careful when opening packaging not
1:39 everyone is a professional unboxer do not attempt this at
1:42 home oh there that's how it works cool
1:46 so that's the transporter XT rage it's got a little Loop for a key or for a
1:51 little piece of string that you put through there and then you can hang it
1:54 off your keychain or whatever else you want and then it's also got uh a US B
2:00 interface here and it's 8 gigs and how
2:05 about this here's a stunning new
2:08 development I'm going to test it there's an idea okay so I'm going to
2:14 plug it into my computer here all right plugs in just like that
2:20 now it is a little bit on the big side it was detected right
2:26 away okay just a second let's close close all my Windows
2:31 you never know what kind of personal information might be there someone saw
2:36 my uh my personal MSN a little while ago
2:40 and I had a bunch of people adding me to MSN I apologize to everyone who added me
2:44 to MSN and I did not add them back but
2:47 uh my MSN is strictly for RL friends and
2:51 family so don't be offended
2:55 please okay so let's try and find something here why don't I copy my audio
2:59 search surf music folder over to the rage XT wow that's fast okay so 17 megab
3:06 21 megab per second 16 megab per
3:10 second and that was with a bunch of small files okay okay forget that forget
3:14 that let's find uh let's find something that's
3:18 um like bigger okay here here here we'll
3:21 find something okay I'm not going to show you as I browse all my folders and
3:24 files so you can uh you can look at my g15 keyboard for now and and uh let's
3:32 find what can I find there has to be
3:35 something here okay yeah yeah yeah we'll just do
3:40 like a big Blog video file
3:43 because Blog video files are not
3:47 downloaded from the internet and they are completely legal I
3:51 own all of the rights to these I think okay so it was up to 23 megabytes per
3:55 second there for a sec oh this is highly inaccurate I I hate this stupid thing
4:01 it's never right anyway we saw when we were transferring the music it went up
4:04 above 20 megabytes per second but I don't know if it's actually measuring it
4:08 in any meaningful way anyway you can see that I am transferring a 2.7 GB file and
4:16 I'm transferring it to this USB thumb drive and it's going pretty
4:20 fast and uh yeah I guess that's pretty much it there you go that's what you can
4:24 expect out of real world performance it's possible if we formatted it
4:27 properly and didn't just plug it into to the computer and go that we might get
4:31 slightly better results and this may not be accurate at all in fact it might be
4:34 transferring at 150 megabytes per second for all we know but Windows doesn't seem
4:38 to measure things the same way that everybody does so it's impossible to
4:42 tell thank you for checking out my unboxing and quick performance test of
4:46 the Patriot transporter
4:51 XT rage
