welcome to another outdoor unboxing today we have from the allnew Logitech G
0:05
Series which is different from the old Logitech G Series because all of the
0:09
part numbers except for this one have an S at the end but the other ones do the
0:13
mice and the keyboard do um I guess that sort of fell flat H the g230 so this is
0:20
their new headset from the new G Series which is a little bit different from the
0:23
rest of the G Series so the selling point for the mice and keyboards is
0:27
their new sort of scientifically engineered coating that they're using to
0:32
reduce the like or well increase the sweat resistance of the products and
0:37
make them less susceptible to just sort of General greasy grossness whereas this
0:43
one looks like more of an evolutionary change for their headset line they've
0:47
definitely changed the overall look of it and they've tried to make it a little
0:51
bit more I guess uh travel and land friendly it's a lightweight uh
0:56
headset and instead of having things like um
1:00
one of those things that I I either love or hate depending on the implementation
1:04
is like the pleather ear cups that you often find on headsets these ones have a
1:08
mesh a mesh implementation so what mesh does is it allows it to uh breathe more
1:14
in terms of air so if you're sitting somewhere for a long time and you want
1:18
to make sure that you're not getting like you know sweaty all on the side of your head and stuff then that is helpful
1:24
but what it does do is it makes a little bit more open so you're able to hear the
1:27
the noises around you a little bit better so check this out so they've got
1:31
um very very very deep cushions here and
1:35
this is something that I wish more companies would do see the shape here
1:39
it's actually shaped like an ear how many times have you seen a pair of
1:42
headphones that are supposedly intended to go around your ear that are round and
1:46
so small that they either interfere with the top of your ear or crush your
1:51
earrings against your head if you wear earrings you know for the girl gamers
1:54
out there or the guys with earrings it's not not manly to to wear earrings
2:00
so going for a lightweight design they've definitely achieved that the microphone is adjustable so you can go
2:04
ahead and see that I can put it up here I can put it down here I can put it here
2:08
I can put it here we have people walking past which is obviously hilarious right
2:12
now so let's go ahead and see what Logitech has to say for themselves on
2:16
the outside of the box here we go
2:20
performance sport cloth ear cups are removable for cleaning oh I didn't even
2:25
notice that check this out also they fold completely flat which is convenient
2:28
for packing them into a bag and waa there goes everything we'll be back in a moment stop
2:33
it there we go
2:37
okay yeah we're back so uh that was that was fun uh so they fold flat which is
2:42
nice if you're going to pack them in a bag or something like that I wish they folded up a little bit more because what
2:47
you can see here is that the constructions I mean the construction
2:50
feels very solid the bands here are metal which is nice I don't really like
2:53
to see these made of plastic because I just don't really trust it in the longer
2:57
term they've got nice little rubber O-rings in between here so they've got a
3:00
nicer feel when you're twisting them than the ones that don't have that they
3:04
they'll feel very plasticky without that whereas these feel very smooth but when
3:08
I'm packing them flat I would worry a little bit about the fact that this
3:12
doesn't fold flat so it's a minor quibble I mean always be careful with
3:16
your electronics anyway but there you go um I do like the width of the headband
3:20
itself up here but what I noticed was that the padding is actually not that
3:24
much wider so in practice when you put
3:27
this thing on it doesn't really feel like it's that wide however it it's not
3:32
that much of an issue because they are extremely light and it's difficult to
3:36
find that balance between light and cheap feeling but I think Logitech
3:40
Struck it again with nice little touches like the O-rings here that make it feel
3:44
a little bit uh a little bit more solid now in terms of Aesthetics Logitech has
3:48
always been good at this on their G Series they've got nice Little chromed
3:52
G's on the side as well as red trim around the outside of the headset this
3:56
is kind of a red pleather and then these are the removable uh removable ear
4:02
cushions that they were talking about so all you have to do uh there's no cheap
4:05
plastic Clips I've seen that a number of times where the uh where the optional
4:09
ear cups are attached with these little plastic clips that just break and then
4:13
the Pieces come off inside the headset and uh then they're in there forever and
4:17
they rattle around unless you open it up so these are super easy to uh to remove
4:21
and put back on uh presumably you just wash them with some detergent and sort
4:25
of just scrub them out and get them all cleaned up leave them somewhere to dry
4:29
so so that would be recommended uh the microphone is noise cancelling I don't
4:32
think I mentioned that before so that's why there's a port on the one side as
4:36
well as the other side and the cord is a red braided cable that's actually quite
4:41
striking and nice looking in terms of the length um let's go ahead and have a
4:46
look at how long it is because they've got inline volume control which I
4:51
personally really like I mean I don't I don't think I like it as much as on
4:56
their more premium headsets where it's built into the side of the headset but I
4:59
think it's an necessity for for any kind of a gaming product so there's a volume
5:02
knob here and then a microphone mute button right here so there's your mute
5:06
there's your not mute and then it Clips on to whatever you pretty much want it
5:10
to clip on to length looks like it can very comfortably reach around to the
5:13
back of your computer haha reach around um so it's about here we go one Linus
5:20
armspan about two full Linus ARM span so it's about a 10t cable and at the end
5:25
you've got your typical headphone microphone jacks and you've got a little
5:30
built-in velcro piece here that you can use for cable management let's go ahead
5:34
and see if there's anything else that I've missed that's probably slick
5:37
calling again to tell me the power's out now this is kind of a cryptic thing for
5:41
Logitech to call out it's got a three-year warranty but check this out what you need Windows 8 Windows 7 Mac or
5:45
Linux operating system headset and microphone
5:49
inputs really that's just sort of bizarre because because it just uses
5:53
standard 3 and 12 mm Jacks it'll fit in pretty much anything so there you go uh
5:57
impedance is 32 ohms if that matters to you and the drivers are 40 mm neodium
6:03
drivers so I think that pretty much wraps it up so I'll just uh I'll just
6:08
wrap up with a little bit of you know strutting showing you guys what it looks
6:13
like when it's installed on the uh the user's head there's that microphone
6:17
flexibility so you can put it you know if you have a particularly large head
6:21
then you can put it like down here oh I never showed sizing so maximum size look
6:26
at that actually that's pretty good so maximum size is going to look like this
6:30
on me which is obviously kind of ridiculous and then minimum size is
6:34
probably more suitable for like small children than for adult Gamers so I have
6:40
a a medium I wear a mediumsized motorcycle helmet so that should give
6:43
you some idea and I end up pulling it around halfway down before they actually
6:47
get comfortable so thank you for checking out this unboxing and first look at the g230 from Logitech don't
