0:00 so today for my unboxing I have a relatively low-end product from steel
0:05 series now we recently had a look at their 5H V2 as well as their Siberia V2
0:11 headsets now this is the plain old 4
0:14 there's no V2 it is basically a slightly
0:18 cut down version of their successful 5H
0:21 product it does come in a little bit less expensive but it also doesn't have
0:26 all of the features of the 5H so let's
0:29 get this out of the box here it doesn't
0:32 come in nearly as nice of a package this thing just kind of rips apart whereas
0:36 the 5H you can slide out of the box all
0:39 nicely and it comes out all fancy and this one we just have to kind of like
0:44 rip it open here in order to get at it now it's a pretty similar looking set of
0:49 headphones but you'll see that there's a couple key feature differences first of
0:54 all okay let's get to the accessories actually let's do that very first of all
0:58 so this is actually here okay so we have a steel series brochure showing you all
1:03 of their other products okay that's very nice then you have a steel series
1:07 sticker as well as a warning about not turning up your headphones too loud okay
1:13 inside here we will find the cable that comes attached to it now here's where we
1:17 will encounter The First missing feature the 4H has the same uh mic and headphone
1:24 volume control knob that we find on the 5H series with a metal clip that looks
1:29 nice and durable but what's missing is the shortened cables with extensions so
1:34 the 4 is not going to be as easy to plug into the back of say for example a 7g
1:40 keyboard from steel series because you'll have to have all of this wire hanging about now the wire itself is
1:45 actually not nearly as long as you can get with the 5H V2 either okay so as
1:51 soon as I get this detached here I'll be able to pull out the
1:55 headphones and have a look at those so
1:59 the first thing I notice about them well okay I've probably said first thing a
2:03 few times now but another thing I noticed about them that is missing
2:06 versus the 5H V2 is the
2:10 disassemblable headband for lack of a better word the 5H V2 comes apart at
2:15 these two Junctions so you can actually fold up the whole thing and throw it in
2:19 your bag another small difference is the fact that the cable comes in from either
2:24 side which is a little bit more awkward when you're gaming because it means that
2:28 I it comes down the middle which can get in the way of your keyboard or anything
2:32 else when you drape it around to the back of your computer um the 5H V2
2:36 actually comes with one cable in the side and then it's connected via the
2:40 headband now these are quite comfortable the ear cups are actually very similar
2:45 in style to the 5hv 2 and I'll get the the camera person to have a look at
2:49 those they're nice and spongy and they also fit nice large ears in there which
2:54 is pretty good I mean steel series headsets are all about comfort so if
2:57 you're not comfortable while you're gaming then you're they're not achieving
3:01 their goal okay now they've done something slightly different at the top
3:04 there is a little bit less padding but I do like the way that it's constructed
3:08 because you've got kind of a non-slip material here that will I mean I
3:12 shouldn't say stick to your hair it's not going to stick to your hair but what
3:15 it does is it grips the headphones in place and makes it hard for them to
3:19 slide out of place okay the last thing that I should point out about the 4 is
3:25 that it has much like many other steel series headsets a little retractable mic
3:30 in the side here and I love this feature because it makes it so you can actually
3:33 use them as headphones should you desire without looking like a tool with your
3:37 mic hanging up the side of your head so there you have it it's the flexible
3:40 little mic that we've come to know and love from steel series headsets so thank
3:43 you for checking out my unboxing of the steel series 4 headset
