0:00 so today I'm going to be having a quick look at a new product from ASUS it's
0:03 kind of like a random product I don't know where this came out of total left
0:07 field here but it's called the assus cross link and I haven't tried it yet so
0:11 I don't know exactly how it works but supposedly this is a way to easily share
0:16 internet and optical drive functionalities between two computers
0:20 you can instantly sync and transfer data between two
0:23 PCS it is USB 2.0 so I'm assuming the transfer rate is going to be 480 megabit
0:28 per second which is USB spe 2.0 speed now here is a quick overview of what
0:33 you're able to do so it is a data link remote share folder link Outlook link
0:38 and Flash share so this is a 2 gig flash
0:41 drive as far as I can tell and then the other piece is a USB A2 mini connector
0:48 so okay they've got system requirements or pretty much anything running XP okay
0:53 so that's that's pretty straightforward and then they show you okay data link
0:57 optical drive share so they show you you you use the cross link functions over
1:01 view blah blah blah you connect two computers with okay let's just open it
1:04 up and have a look at this thing because it's wow that just came right off it's a
1:09 very cryptic product because to me it's always seemed obvious that there should
1:14 be some way to just take a couple computers and just kind of plug them
1:17 together and just transfer data over and it comes with absolutely no user guide
1:24 whatsoever so I guess all we're going to be able to do here is have a quick look
1:27 at the Crosslink product and then I'll have to to post my thoughts on the uh
1:31 annotations in the video so if you watch this before I have a chance to do it
1:35 then I apologize for not having as much detail as I'd like but oh okay so that's
1:40 that's kind of neat so you can kind of you can do this with it and I'm not sure
1:43 what the point of that is but there you can hide the uh the USB connector if you
1:47 want and then you can see that this is just a USB mini connector here plugs in
1:52 there and then that's just a standard cable so as long as you have this piece
1:56 you should be able to transfer data from one computer to another effortlessly
2:00 including sharing Optical drives which is really cool because personally I
2:03 don't really have a reason to have an optical drive in my computer anymore I
2:07 rarely use it so it'd be kind of Handy to be able to just kind of like plug one
2:11 in whenever and use my laptop as an optical drive whenever I need to thank
2:14 you for checking out my unboxing of the ASUS cross link
