0:02 so who knows are we live now it is wednesday show time so we've got a great
0:07 show for you guys today lots of good topics actually every time yeah people
0:10 died which sucks because like no no i mean that sucks too but i meant the
0:15 having great topics sucks because we burned through a bunch of time with
0:19 inexplicable audio issues because yeah wait what is going on now what
0:23 what even is this is this crashed what is what
0:26 this uh oh that's pretty neat are we even are
0:30 we even like pictures frozen nice that's
0:34 real too ah never seen it real cool uh go back to
0:37 maine hold on that's working hold on go back to maine yeah click on camera right
0:42 click properties can we refresh it uh you have to do it in properties which is
0:45 hilarious out loud uh oh no property is available so i think
0:52 i think
0:55 oh my goodness i think the whole wait wait hold on hold on oh yeah i
0:59 don't know people are just saying the screen share worked oh man
1:04 oh man feels good feels good
1:08 everything feels good right about now i love this uh it's blink oh did we get
1:13 something no no i got i got an i got nothing i'm just gonna i'm just gonna
1:16 like i'm just gonna add a new one i'm just gonna add like a new a new uh
1:22 hold on what am i looking for media source is that what i want no no i don't
1:25 want that i want a new
1:30 um a new
1:33 new video capture device there it is okay add existing
1:37 uh avio camera blip blop and
1:42 um okay yeah oh i know what that properties
1:46 thing didn't work that didn't work okay new idea yeah click on the camera scene
1:51 not there yep yeah uh now do it there
1:56 yeah oh brilliant brilliant yeah uh no
1:59 no no no no deactivate activate yeah sure
2:05 okay all right forgot that you had to
2:08 nest it so that it would keep its dimensional properties so do we leave
2:13 this in the show at this point
2:17 or do we spam people's twitch with yet another
2:20 notification these are the hard questions
2:24 these are the tough questions this is what you guys don't see behind
2:27 the camera that we tackle here on the WAN Show to make the best
2:32 show all right the greatest show yeah my friends called me
2:36 i'm kidding i have no friends
2:40 nobody calls me my friends called me they said look you never show up on time
2:45 you talk so quiet we can't understand a damn thing you're saying and every once
2:49 in a while we're in the middle of a conversation and you just
2:58 all right so uh we've got a lot of great topics for you guys today um apple
3:03 responds to the iphone slow down fiasco
3:07 so does i fix it dropping their iphone battery replacement price oh they're not
3:11 a sponsor today to 29.
3:15 uh what else we got um so somebody got
3:19 swatted which resulted in them dying uh
3:23 yeah swatting's not funny by the way no and this was like the person that got
3:27 swatted gave a fake address but it was a real address
3:31 and then that person that lived at the fake address died so they actually had
3:34 nothing to do with the entire situation but we'll talk more about that later and
3:38 then someone fell down while playing games in vr
3:42 and hit their head on a table and died great week
3:46 uh yeah stay tuned after the intro talk about it more
3:50 wow that was dark yeah
3:57 it's gonna be good
4:12 in 10 minutes
4:16 on a bot we would script that
4:20 like for sure
4:23 at like the end okay cool thank you
4:27 sponsors
4:31 fresh books why why see why is this you have to get the line just above yeah no
4:35 i have it it's above it's just not working because
4:40 whatever oh you probably have to refresh that too
4:46 holy crap obs is not better than xsplit it it
4:53 never said it was bad maybe it is better they're they're both they're both not
4:57 they both have at this time glaring issues like
5:03 they just have different glaring issues we need to just
5:07 yeah we need to combine them
5:10 yeah except that then we'd end up with all the glare
5:16 if you took the automatic game detection from xsplit and you took
5:20 most but not all of the ui design from xsplit yeah and put it on top of obs i
5:26 think you'd have experienced audio ui is off that's what that's why i said most
5:30 abominable this audio ui pretty good adding gain
5:36 terrible like here's what i want to know why is it that only vlc
5:42 can figure this out okay a volume slider that just goes to 150
5:49 why is it that vlc had that going on a
5:53 decade ago and literally no one else
5:58 has clued into this now people are saying it's quiet except if i laugh it's
6:01 really loud yeah that actually just kind of makes sense because my life is really
6:05 loud yeah not nothing nothing we can do about that at this point all right yeah
6:09 well clean recording suite 2018 at this point you know what
6:16 i mean could it come to that maybe like honestly probably not 2018 but maybe not
6:20 2018 okay i will promise you it is not
6:24 going to happen in 2018. i'm also certain there's people
6:28 on the team that would have a hoot trying to make one of those i'm certain
6:31 that there's people on the team who are already working on it
6:34 stop we need to get the site launched first
6:39 okay it's coming it's coming there's some
6:42 great things that happen you guys are crazy they're they're awesome you guys
6:46 are crazy oh oh first topic this week is
6:50 yeah i know i know some people get frustrated with this but there's
6:53 literally nothing i can do about it right now um it is a Floatplane topic
6:57 because this is officially luke's last week oh
7:03 as a lioness media group the employee unceremonious day ever
7:08 actually yeah well you got hold on a second nothing
7:12 happened you got your you got your five-year award at the christmas dinner which was
7:16 a silver medal and i'm not getting a gold one because he's firing me i'm not
7:20 firing you yeah i'm being forced to quit if i fire you and i have to give you
7:25 several references so he's doing it even the worst way
7:29 so he was like here's your silver medal bt dubs can never get a better one
7:34 hey hey you can make your own you can make your own medals i'm going to give
7:37 myself a gold mine yeah you can make yeah i mean
7:41 every float playing medal will be a gold medal Yvonne and i talked about it we
7:44 were like like do do we get five-year
7:48 like company theoretically you're an employee of the
7:53 company because of how it works so you should actually so strictly speaking
7:58 yeah i've been employed by Linus media group incorporated yeah for five years
8:03 but i was like who awards it to me who awards it to you i think you would award
8:08 it to each other but yeah yeah but the come on no i know that's
8:11 like i mean the optics of that are like giving yourself an award essentially i
8:15 would i wouldn't do it ceremoniously i would just put it on a shelf at home
8:20 you know what i mean i see i see it so i would want it so that i could have my own representation of like whatever
8:24 right but i'm not gonna like go up to stage and be like i'm such a wonderful
8:28 person you know congratulations me
8:32 for sticking it out for five years for not quitting myself yeah yeah for
8:37 putting up with my horrible boss
8:41 for so long he wants to have meetings on mondays and fridays what a crazy person
8:45 crazy person um
8:48 so no what were we talking about okay so so right so
8:52 actually this is a great time to do a little bit of q a about what this
8:56 transition means because i know a lot of people have been asking um so the first
9:00 question that we have in the chat actually i don't see it there but i'm sure it's coming is luke are you gonna
9:06 be on rancho anymore uh sorry i have to interrupt for one second somebody said i
9:10 don't think the ceo gets any medals works for me still get medals at float
9:13 plane owned uh and that means you don't
9:18 brilliant perfect um sorry what what was your what
9:21 was your question are you still going to be on WAN Show yeah yeah i'm going to be
9:25 on WAN Show next week um i'll almost certainly be on the wen show the week
9:29 after that although the week after that is the wench of when we're at ces so
9:32 it's always kind of yeah that's that's how it works is
9:36 always kind of who knows uncertain but there if if i'm not on that one it's
9:41 because of like some random reason not because i don't work for LMG anymore i'm
9:45 still gonna be doing LMG stuff i'm still gonna be managing their security that's
9:48 lol random um i'm still going to be doing WAN Show um and i'll probably be
9:53 on a video here and there we have one that we have planned to film yeah the
9:57 year the year-long conclusion yeah you can
10:00 stop tweeting me about it oh my god we
10:04 know it's just let me it's a low priority yeah i mean okay cause it's
10:08 like i had some actor tweet me about it like
10:12 they're high profile enough that like i got a notification that they followed me
10:15 and they followed me specifically to be like yo when the hell are you doing that
10:19 i don't i don't remember who it was but it was like
10:22 it was like mr actor the conclusion is install filters where you don't have
10:25 fans no no no no hold on it was like no it was like someone like significant i
10:30 can't remember because i don't really i don't i'm just saying like if you don't have time to wait for the thing and
10:34 you're trying to build a computer just install filters where you don't have fans i don't really know actor people uh
10:39 james allen mccoon i'm super bad with uh james in blair
10:45 maddie on shameless and jimmy on the walking dead wow yeah oh no i recognize
10:50 this guy yeah oh that's cool no so like so so so guy tweets me and he's like yo
10:56 yo at Linus tech whatever happened to that year-long pc airflow experiment you
11:01 said you were up to last year i'm like we are going to do it just been
11:05 busy i'm gonna be that guy gonna be that guy ride you all about it
11:08 so giddy up cowboy you spell giddy up wrong but that's okay his skill set is
11:12 not about spelling yeah and i'm like okay may not be after ces and he's still
11:17 writing me okay i'll allow it this time looking forward to it also oh if you all
11:22 need a guest host for ces i know a guy whoa cool i didn't even see that
11:26 give them that'd be super cool yeah see jay's two
11:30 cents isn't the only youtube tech show
11:33 that can like talk to real celebrities
11:36 bam yeah it's a really funny thing like how
11:41 like like it's weird because we're
11:44 clearly like known like you were talking about going to
11:47 twitchcon and people being like yo what up
11:51 but then like we're we'll never be real celebrities
11:54 internet celebrities the only way to be a real celebrity is
11:58 to actually do crossovers with mainstream media like a pewdiepie and
12:02 his featured episode himself of south park for example and you know what's you
12:05 know what's kind of weird is i actually think there might be more
12:10 obsessive tendencies for the like not real
12:15 celebrity youtube people they're like attainable they're they're attainable
12:18 they're more attainable yeah there's less security yep because there's less
12:22 money going around yeah they don't live on like a 15 million dollar estate
12:26 probably some of them live in like an apartment or some normal house that has
12:29 no additional security if you go to events you probably have no security
12:33 you're you're much more public in terms of like this guy's he's in some huge
12:36 stuff i recognize him from multiple different things that he's in
12:40 his twitter account is not that big yeah it's the opposite of someone who's like
12:43 a youtuber who will have a giant twitter account even though they're less
12:47 recognizable exactly and i'm not trying to dig on you dude if you're watching
12:50 that wasn't the point um like there's lots of different things
12:55 and they probably see you a lot more
12:58 if someone's in a movie and they're a big movie star you see them for like
13:02 two hours-ish but it's more memorable it's more memorable yeah but two hours
13:06 ish every once in a blue moon youtubers often
13:10 really really commonly if they're a twitch streamer potentially like eight
13:14 hours a day like it's way more personal there's a lot more obsession apparently
13:18 it was on sugar pine seven uh just from what was in his twitter bio
13:22 he's yeah no it's crazy
13:26 um apparently people prefer LTT internet
13:29 celebrity over kim kardashian but we weren't really talking about kim
13:34 kardashian specifically that's another weird people are like can we do a
13:37 patreon to save luke that's awkward um no
13:41 uh-huh what else someone also asked if you're going to be doing alliance media
13:44 group stuff from time to time can you be retained as a part-time employee that uh
13:49 would be really weird yeah and it'd be complicated and expensive too so if he's part-time at
13:55 both companies then both companies have to pay like canada pension plan
13:59 separately um and i don't i don't remember how benefits works as well but
14:03 there's like and it would be like a really low amount of hours of part time
14:07 and then really randomly it would be like a bunch and then it would go back down to really low like it's it's
14:12 actually easier if we just keep it clean and lucas just like a guest on the
14:15 lanchow or like guest hosts a video here and there and he is
14:20 the ceo of Floatplane media that's his job yeah um
14:25 so is it the ceo of Floatplane nope nope nope technically that's me jokes
14:31 um but actually this is something that neither luke nor i had looked up
14:34 beforehand but c o o basically means you actually run the company yeah
14:39 which i totally didn't know but yeah if you look up the actual
14:43 definition of ceo is more what did it say
14:46 i it was like it was like it was like large-scale strategic decision maker
14:51 yeah and then ceo was like operationally speaking actually runs the damn thing
14:55 yeah oversight of operational procedures
14:58 and efficiencies it had a really broad description that was basically like the
15:02 guy that actually does the stuff so it actually works really well in terms of
15:06 like definition of what i want to do at full plane it makes way more sense so um
15:11 is Floatplane a different building no no it would be tape on the floor for
15:16 now for now yeah someday though if all goes according to plan it it will need
15:21 to be Floatplane will totally need its own building it'll have its own it's
15:25 have its own like quite a few employees and it'll like totally explode and we've
15:30 had a lot of people tell us uh Floatplane is going to be a failure like
15:35 you know the failing Floatplane
15:38 is already failing um my favorite one is when they spell it wrong yeah these
15:42 people have no no access to internal numbers that
15:47 already exist and it is not failing and is not going
15:50 to fail and we're actually like really excited because sometime in the next
15:55 hopefully we would measure it in weeks not months
15:58 we're going to have an alpha site up well technically you could go on the
16:01 site now if you really wanted to i've i've yeah
16:06 sort of i've said like it's not open in any way
16:10 unless you're inquisitive enough to figure out how to get in there yeah um
16:14 and then uh and then hopefully not that long after that we are going to get to
16:18 the point where we would be able to invite on more creators i don't know
16:22 what you're changing unless it's white balance no i'm just joking oh you're
16:25 just checking you always check you do not always check no it's very rare he's done it before
16:30 though he has done it before yeah okay we'll defend him on that terence i think
16:34 he comes in this way with ripped underwear every time see you
16:37 wow that's what i needed i needed terran ripped underwear before my long repair
16:42 so i'll have lots of time to reflect on that
16:47 dang oh dang someone asked so i'll bring it up right now
16:51 someone said are you doing your charity stream after this no that is tomorrow
16:55 oh i'm doing it tomorrow i was like what well then why did you why did i why were
16:58 you like no it's yo can i promote the charity stream on the lan show and i was
17:02 like yeah go for it like are you doing it no no
17:06 yeah i know it's happening tomorrow it starts at noon pacific standard time why
17:09 do you waste my time that's what i want to know is this funny tv well i won't anymore
17:14 because i'm leaving you can't leave because i'm sending you
17:18 wait wait i can't do it yes yeah yeah yes he
17:22 said i don't care no severance oh man that would be great all right
17:27 but yeah i know it's starting tomorrow at noon we've raised 21 000 for extra
17:31 life so far this year wow i want to see if we can make it to 30 making it to 25
17:36 would be super great uh making it to nothing more than we have is also
17:40 fantastic yeah show up if you can dang man yeah that's a luke underscoring afr
17:46 yeah okay on twitch all right outside of the charity streams
17:49 i'd probably recommend not watching it's a terrible stream but the charity streams are great the charity streams
17:53 are planned out we do like one game per hour this year is going to be uh 2017 in
17:58 review we're gonna do 20 different games through 17 and talk about what impact
18:02 they had on the gaming industry sometimes there's cool stuff it's pretty uncommon like when you're like like like
18:08 uh uh um testing Floatplane livestream
18:12 breaking twitches
18:16 are there any twitch staff in the chat right now probably not hope not
18:22 literally breaking twitch's terms of service
18:26 in your attempt to create a service that
18:29 could allow people to break twitch's terms of service
18:33 literally but we would never encourage people to
18:36 do that no um like seriously we would we would not
18:40 encourage people to do that okay probably not yeah so posted by dr
18:44 mcintosh on the forum we have our first
18:47 news item of the day a mere 20 minutes into the stream
18:53 apple apologizes for iphone slow down
18:56 drama will offer 29 battery placements for a
19:01 year batteries are apparently consumable components now
19:05 this is a stroke of
19:08 absolute and you'll have to pardon the pun here genius
19:13 oh oh because for the price of people who would have
19:18 been sitting in their stores earning an hourly wage
19:22 anyway and batteries that are just
19:26 basically being sold at like not a markup at this point or a very small
19:30 markup at this point so apple actually gives up next to nothing here
19:35 though they do create some additional bottlenecking in there in their queues
19:39 in all likelihood for the cost of basically next to
19:42 nothing apple is hoping it looks like this is my perception here is all based
19:47 on what i think it looks like they're hoping to avoid a lengthy expensive
19:53 class action lawsuit and a bunch of bad
19:56 pr by doing something super duper temporary
20:01 yeah so apple's basically going whoa whoa
20:04 whoa there's a lot of people complaining about a thing you know what here's some
20:09 goodwill also we are not actually fixing
20:12 this problem in any long-term way so
20:15 yeah go eat crap yeah am i am i missing something here
20:21 yeah no um it's pretty ridiculous so just in case
20:25 people didn't know uh france as far as i know possibly other places i don't
20:30 actually see this in the neighborhood it's it's different yeah it's a different topic so we can talk about we
20:35 can talk about that now if you want well i think it ties in really well because
20:38 you mentioned to avoid getting started so let's talk about the lawsuit in
20:41 france so a group in france called stop planned obsolescence has filed a
20:45 criminal complaint in the french court alleging that apple has violated
20:49 france's energy transition law and to be
20:52 clear um yeah this is the first criminal charge
20:57 against apple related to this dispute because it
21:00 is officially against the law to do this in france
21:04 like specifically um the group believes the law on the energy transition of 2015
21:09 prohibits the practice of planned obsolescence which is defined by the use
21:13 of techniques by which the person responsible for making of for the
21:18 marketing of a product aims to deliberately reduce lifespan in order to
21:23 increase the replacement rate the complaint is therefore criminal the law
21:27 provides for a maximum maximum sentence of two years in prison
21:31 and up to 300 000 euros in fines and 5
21:35 of the annual annual turnover
21:39 big deal like specifically stated in the law that it is illegal um apple can try
21:45 to contort their pitch for why they did it
21:48 in terms of like the uh reducing shutdowns and stuff like that but that
21:53 changes nothing yeah because the end user experience yes
21:57 because you are still more likely to replace the phone because you have less battery and it is specifically happening
22:02 because of reducing lifespan in order to increase
22:09 replacement rate because the proving the in order to replace uh increased
22:13 replacement rate is difficult but all that really needs to be proven
22:17 is the deliberately reducing lifespan and
22:21 you could make a fairly strong argument that it's done to increase replacement
22:25 rate if you can demonstrate that the replacement rate is higher which
22:29 anecdotally from testimony from users
22:33 should be fairly easy to do yeah
22:36 especially for a product like the iphone where so many people run out and buy the
22:41 new one every year because it's faster
22:44 this is something that i've been kind of curious about
22:47 so i don't think you were involved in this
22:51 video but we did a really interesting piece um oh my goodness it must have
22:56 been like a year ago anyway it was a long time ago actually where we took
22:59 swift tech's flagship CPU water block
23:04 over 10 years i think it was eight years or something
23:07 yeah so Jake worked on it yeah yeah so over a
23:11 span of many years and we tested them all on a modern
23:15 flagship high-end processor and what we observed is that every year there were
23:20 these claims of 20 better performance or two degree better performance or
23:24 whatever it was and if you added them up
23:27 it was nowhere near the difference between the first one we tested and the
23:32 last one we tested now with the water block you could make
23:36 the argument that every year those improvements were more to do with
23:40 optimizing for the generation of CPU that was being released at that time
23:44 yeah so the die size probably the hot spot actually the CPU just generating
23:49 less thermals no no no not that that's a thing because on the same CPU on the on
23:54 the news the new block would do better than the old one every time because they actually
24:00 did design them around them yeah okay
24:03 now let's go back to the iphone for a minute here when we're comparing
24:06 performance on a year on a brand new iphone
24:10 a year old iphone and a two-year-old iphone as often happens whether it's a
24:15 you know a written article like a non-tech or whether it's
24:19 us just holding up phones and going which one's faster
24:23 how much of apple's marketing then has been affected by this
24:28 when they talk about the performance improvement generation over generation
24:35 think about it when people do independent benchmarks to look at
24:39 apple's claims no i'm sure we would have heard about it if
24:43 there was some huge discrepancy there so is apple using decayed performance
24:49 numbers to talk about their generational improvements oh oh scathing
24:55 oh i don't know this is actually not
24:58 something that i think i have the capability to test because you would
25:02 have to you would have to get apple to create
25:05 for you a non-degraded you know iphone
25:09 6. okay so someone said there's no improvement on apple that's not what
25:13 he's saying he's saying the difference of improvement would is probably in
25:17 reality a little bit smaller yeah than what they're claiming like if apple says
25:21 okay from the iphone 6 to the iphone 6s
25:24 we improved 30 CPU performance and then
25:28 if they actually degrade this one and then they say okay now with the seven
25:33 we've got 30 better performance it's not a 60 improvement over that first one
25:38 it's not 30 plus 30 which actually wouldn't be 60 yes i know just don't
25:42 worry about it the point is that it could be significantly smaller than what they
25:46 were advertising i don't know there's not an accusation there's no allegedly
25:51 even there's just just asking questions just asking questions um
25:57 Floatplane data on LMG petabyte no
26:01 sorry oh no someone's asking who owns
26:04 the servers and all this kind of stuff oh okay it's it's not Floatplane is its
26:08 own company its servers are hosted elsewhere yeah
26:12 um now i think there was a backup of something on like your nas at some point
26:17 but that's dead yeah and that was that was uh not like very early stages
26:24 so we i'm not we're not we're not going to say we haven't done
26:28 anything janky that wasn't customer stuff no to be
26:32 clear and we also at this time okay the i think the only
26:37 customer data we hold is actually through the forum not through the flow
26:41 plane site at all yeah and it's not it's not like your credit card info
26:45 because we don't take credit card yeah that's right it's coming though but
26:48 then even then we won't store that information it'll be stored by stripe
26:52 all right so actually let's go back to what apple's offering here so the offer
26:56 continues through december 2018 for the 29 battery replacement um they're also
27:01 planning to issue an iOS software update early in 2018 that gives users more
27:05 visibility into health of their iphone's battery so they can see for themselves
27:09 if its condition is affecting performance we've got a few people
27:12 asking about the 30 plus 30 thing it's it's because we're talking 30 above so
27:16 item b is 30 above item a item c is 30
27:20 above item b that doesn't mean that item c is 60
27:25 above item a yeah or even approximately 60 because if item
27:30 b got degraded by 10 or 15 percent
27:33 yeah and item c is now 30 faster than that then it's only 45-ish percent
27:38 faster than the original one yeah okay um you're adding percentages of two
27:42 different things and trying to come up with one it's not it is really
27:45 interesting to see apple the like the pioneer of built-in batteries that you
27:49 can't replace really changing their tune on what a
27:52 battery is to try and avoid any legal ramifications here so they said in its
27:56 le in the letter that batteries are consumable components
28:00 but then in 2007 this is actually a really really great quote apple vice
28:05 marketing vice president uh
28:09 hold on yeah this is great their their vice president of marketing
28:13 said that most iphone users will realize as most ipod customers as ipod customers
28:19 realized that they never needed to replace their batteries
28:26 yeah um okay
28:31 so based on their experience they originally okay we began to receive
28:35 feedback about people are seeing slower performance we now believe another
28:38 contributor to these user experiences the continued chemical aging of the batteries and older iphone 6 and 6s
28:42 devices many of which are still running on their original many of which are still running on their original
28:47 batteries yeah as opposed to what other battery
28:50 that you're supposed to put in it yeah well i fixed it has been able to do it
28:54 the whole time my frame on my iphone 6 is bent it got bent in my bag because
28:58 hashtag bendgate so i don't even know how easily i would be able to pop the
29:02 screen probably not put the battery in and then get the screen back on because
29:06 it's actually like buckled on the side probably not that easily no i haven't
29:09 seen it it's bad
29:12 all right anyway um
29:16 so the ifixit just to bring this up i fix it drops its
29:20 iphone battery replacement to 29 we don't really need to like post this link
29:24 and stuff this would be a very short thing to talk about yeah um but it's
29:27 it's a kit i wonder if
29:30 they take another jab i'm sure you get the battery but is that
29:34 do you get like tools and stuff um
29:39 yeah it's not any cheaper so the only benefit is that you don't have to wait
29:42 in line at a genius bar but i think that
29:45 having your phone yeah okay hold on so the like the iphone 7 plus replacement
29:50 kit comes with all the tools you need to do it and the battery
29:54 so if you buy it once and then you're able to just source the
29:58 batteries then it's cheaper you can keep doing it for yourself repeatedly and you
30:02 can do it for your friends and stuff and you just need to acquire the battery
30:06 yeah but there is something to be said if it's the same price for just having
30:09 it done at the store where if they screw it up they owe you a new phone
30:13 yes so i personally if it was 29
30:17 versus 29 would just take my phone to the apple store with that said part of the problem
30:22 is that not everyone has easy access to an apple store and have you seen what
30:25 comes in this kit oh that's pretty sick they're pretty
30:30 sick it has one of the nice screwdrivers and it has like the like a has the pry
30:35 tools that's a nice one for the iphone se cool okay but like
30:39 there's there's different kits just so they make sure you actually have everything they're all
30:44 pretty much the same actually but there's slight variations probably
30:48 just the battery in the instruction manual but like you get some nice stuff
30:52 you get three bits you get the really nice screwdriver which i actually like a
30:55 lot i don't know tweezers esd tweezers little suction
30:58 cups speaking of ifixit who by the way isn't sponsoring the show today
31:03 actual people who are sponsoring the show today madrina's coffee
31:07 i don't oh that actually smells really good berry
31:11 lemony nutty yeah they've got all kinds of like really cool like does that not
31:16 smell like it does just smelling that could wake
31:19 you up so madrina's coffee is coffee for fuel
31:23 they've got big cans of their cold brewed coffee with a flavor for everyone
31:26 they've got cafe mocha cafe vanilla they've got an entire thing over here
31:31 they must have sent a new shipment because i'm pretty sure that ed's had
31:34 his drink consumed literally everything they sent last time within like two days
31:40 before anyone else got a shot at it um so their coffees are delicious and
31:45 they have specialty grade blends of cold brewed coffee given to you in a convenient ready to drink can and you
31:50 can also just buy their premium roasts in little
31:54 baggies and from now until january 5th you can get 60 percent off all madrina's
31:59 coffee orders with code Linus oh thank you
32:03 um just go to madrina's coffee dot com slash Linus and the instructions for
32:07 adding the free six pack to your cart wait what no i think it's a 60 off code
32:13 not a free six pack so sorry sorry
32:16 no the first 100 people to use offer code Linus get a free six six pack of
32:21 cold brew i feel like i'm doing like a qvc spot right now where i'm like really
32:26 a free six pack that's an unbelievable deal but that is now until january 5th
32:30 you get 60 off which is huge using off-code lines and the first
32:34 100 people i'm sure you have to buy coffee i'm sure you have to buy like
32:38 over a certain amount or something but holy crap
32:42 coffee orders with code Linus the first one apparently these guys are taking
32:47 like the uh the addictive substance approach here like the first one's free
32:52 you know am i right first one's free first one's free baby your additional 60
32:57 off wow okay oh also in the chat
33:01 uh is from adrina so feel free to bug and pester him as much as you need if
33:05 you have any questions that is sick um all right well i don't know how uh
33:12 freshbooks is going to top that because
33:15 freshbooks does actually they do a 30 day free trial too so freshbooks if
33:18 you're a small business owner and you're looking for a way to keep
33:22 track of your finances that's not complicated that's something that you
33:25 can understand without having an accounting degree or paying someone a
33:29 fortune to go through all that stuff for you freshbooks is the cloud-based
33:32 solution that allows you to save time and be more organized and if you play
33:38 your cards right and you manage your time well even make more money so it
33:42 allows you to manage your expenses it allows you to manage your timesheet
33:47 it allows you it has a feature that tells you when your clients look at your invoice for the first time so you can
33:51 put an end to the guessing games and the entire platform is available on mobile
33:56 on both iOS and Android so you can do all these things at your desk at night
34:01 when you get home or on the go as you go
34:04 so that you don't have that pile up when you get home and you can spend that time
34:07 with your family instead if you have any questions about
34:11 freshbooks you can reach out to their support where you will talk to a real
34:14 human being that will just pick up a phone and
34:19 answer it isn't it kind of mind-blowing like whenever you call those kinds of
34:22 companies and you just and someone just picks up the phone
34:26 it amazes me that they have the ability to do something where like
34:31 there's no phone chain there's no waiting you call in and you just get a person especially for a product that's
34:36 like accounting and a lot of people use it which is like you think inherently
34:40 like freshbooks is huge anything accounting based you think about how good and the average person is at math
34:45 and you kind of go wow they must get like a lot of support calls yeah
34:49 so they they must have just like the most ball in support center so go check
34:54 it out it's freshbooks.comwhen we've got that link below you can get a 30 day
34:57 free trial give it a shot and uh yeah
35:00 just give it a shot and see how it works for you that's the first one's free
35:05 all right last sponsor for today this one's not
35:09 free you save ten percent but you can take our word for this it's delicious
35:13 it's really good you know it's funny
35:16 did you take the mojo yeah that's right i got moho too oh damn
35:20 you know what i'm just i i'm not oh is it dang it the maple buffalo bacon is
35:25 still in here apparently so i can just hold up the package because it's empty i
35:29 think i ate all of that on our uh the first day this shipment arrived
35:33 dang it you know what there's a package
35:37 traditional traditional is really good too i'm not going to subject myself to
35:41 the hottest stuff today because let me tell you guys if you are into hot jerky
35:46 i have had multiple people go out of their way to contact me and say you know
35:52 what i love hot jerky i can eat hot jerky all day when you guys said savage
35:56 jerky is really hot i was like yeah it's probably not that hot i ordered some
36:02 it's that hot i wonder what mape thinks mape so mape doesn't have
36:06 um a sense of smell as far as i know or it's extremely
36:10 really reduced i don't remember it's one of the two that's good so it actually
36:13 helps him deal with spicy food like a lot and he can deal with like insanity
36:17 levels of spicy food and he ordered some
36:21 i would love to hear from me but i haven't i haven't heard from him all right
36:24 so savage jerky is made with the best ingredients without nitrates or
36:28 preservatives the goal is to create a snack that's full of flavor and spice but that isn't bad for you
36:32 we've got 13 different flavors my personal favorites are the maple buffalo
36:36 bacon the mojo is really good traditional is really good the cracked
36:40 pepper and sea salt really actually got a lot of great flavors yep and if you're
36:44 into the hot they've got jerkys that are made out of carolina reapers ghost
36:48 peppers um there's another super crazy hot one
36:52 those ones are not for the faint of heart for real
36:56 um they've also got barbecue sauce hot sauce and a spice rub their carolina
37:01 reaper hot sauce is made using one of the hottest peppers in the world the
37:04 jalapeno no i'm just kidding the carolina reaper it's like right in the name should have been fairly obvious
37:08 anyway you can use offer code LTT to save ten percent on their products
37:13 over at savage jerky.com
37:16 what can i do for you i'm gonna just do a thing here don't worry about it are
37:20 you adding more i am okay all right let's see let's see if it distorts
37:24 oh oh oh risky right that's good i think it'll be fine
37:28 all right so what else we got for topics today i
37:31 feel like there's got to be some i want to talk about people dying oh yeah i
37:35 guess we can try to keep them fairly short but that really i think they're
37:38 pretty important it's worth talking we do have to talk about it
37:41 yeah so oh i want to talk about this too it'll be fairly short but yeah yeah for
37:45 sure i'll keep it condensed all right um
37:49 where is the first one geez uh breaking news there we go uh this was
37:54 posted over on pcgamer.com
37:59 so i don't know if we want to put like the guy's twitch account or
38:03 anything on blast um definitely not going to talk about who
38:08 did it because i'm very against the last thing these people need is more
38:12 attention exactly um very against making celebrities around terrible people but
38:17 um andrew finch is the person who
38:22 passed away in this whole thing so we can talk about him because he had
38:25 absolutely nothing to do with this and it's very sad
38:29 that he was involved in this at all anyways
38:33 someone was harassing a twitch streamer to some degree saying that they were
38:36 going to swat them as a prank and all this kind of stuff um
38:41 so as far as i know there was kind of a like bring it on bro that was
38:46 proposed and super dumb by the way yep
38:49 and a fake address was given but this wasn't an actually fake address
38:55 it was somewhat fake street yeah it was someone's actual home and that home was
39:01 swatted uh the swat team apparently um
39:05 oh here we go yeah in this case one gamer essentially dared the other to
39:09 swat him but provided an address that wasn't his own but was nearby so that's
39:14 apparently what happened police believe they were responding to a report of a murder and hostage situation
39:19 at finch's home when andrew finch came to the door he was shot and killed
39:26 these situations are always hard because if if he say
39:30 had his hands in a sweater or something like that it could look like he's trying
39:33 to conceal a gun i don't know what's going on um i'm not
39:37 blaming anyone except for the people that were involved and i don't want to
39:40 name them um the the two main people that were
39:44 involved is what i'm saying i don't want to name them very very disappointing situation
39:49 swatting in its own is is
39:52 terrible um and
39:57 causing it to happen to someone that that
40:00 someone that isn't even remotely involved is even worse so yeah this
40:04 whole thing not good uh the officer who killed finch when he answered his front
40:08 door has been placed on administrative paid leave so which is probably good see
40:12 what happens with that hopefully he gets some psych help as well um
40:17 because he's probably traumatized which is another
40:20 side effect of these things happening which is why they shouldn't be done
40:24 swat calls for hot current hostage and
40:28 very recent murder like the the guys on the swat call
40:32 that yeah hard situation to deal with moving on
40:37 there's another one we'll just get rid of this one while we're at it um a 44
40:40 year old russian man was playing a star wars vr game the game that was being
40:44 played has nothing to do with the actual story um he fell and he hit his head on
40:49 a glass table apparently based on the medical
40:52 examinators report the man continued playing the game instead of seeking any
40:56 form of immediate medical attention and lost a lot of blood in the process he
41:00 eventually succumbed to his injuries and died there has been no toxology information
41:07 done so there's no knowledge of whether he was
41:11 like potentially under the influence of drugs or alcohol
41:16 which may have promoted him not realizing how much
41:20 blood he was losing well depending on how you how deep you
41:24 get cut you can actually like not feel it very much yeah like
41:29 that's that's the thing that your nerves are mostly at the surface so he could
41:33 have had a like pretty egregious injury and he's in vr so he wouldn't be
41:37 able to see it i would assume that if you're not drunk or high in any
41:42 form that you'd be able to feel it
41:45 like losing enough blood to die but then it's also coming from your head
41:49 and it's warm and warm is is uh harder to really feel depending on how into the
41:54 game you are you might be sweating already so it could be yeah and if you're
41:58 wearing like a sweater like to be clear i'm not saying that you know um
42:02 i'm not saying that he probably shouldn't have known to like
42:07 pop out of the game for a minute and like check himself if you get hit if you
42:10 get hit in the head any any like if you fall and your head hits something it is
42:15 bad there's no like there's no thing around that you should get yourself
42:18 checked out to a certain degree make sure that you're not mildly consuming i'm a football player yeah yeah actually
42:24 um i know a lot of people have concussions the only concussion i ever
42:27 had was in rugby and i thought i was completely fine and my coach like
42:31 demanded to drive me home and then part way on the drive home i was like uh
42:34 something's wrong and we had to stop and i puked all over the side of the road because i thought i was fine but had a
42:38 concussion um so yeah check yourself out
42:42 if you hit your head on anything head injuries are brutal
42:45 very sorry to hear that this man passed away
42:49 on to different news yeah all right
42:53 this one kind of interesting do you want to do gaming disorder is now a mental
42:56 condition according to the world health organization
43:00 supposed by hey yo on the forum
43:03 the original article is from forbes here
43:07 and i will just click continue to article because that's not a parasite
43:10 did you post that in the chat already i did not okay do you have gaming disorder
43:15 a newly recognized mental health condition
43:18 um probably well let's find out let's find out yeah
43:22 let's see let's diagnose me okay gaming disorder is characterized by a pattern
43:26 of persistent or recurrent gaming behaviors yep okay okay so far i'm
43:31 screwed digital gaming or video gaming okay both
43:34 which may be online over the internet yeah or offline not
43:39 over the internet okay still screwed okay all right manifested by one
43:43 impaired control over gaming uh for example onset frequency intensity
43:49 duration termination and context okay
43:52 i'm screwed okay yep um two
43:55 increasing priority given to gaming to the extent that gaming takes precedent
43:59 over other life interests and daily activities
44:02 all right all right all right it doesn't say how many other life interests that's
44:06 the problem so if it takes precedence over anything yeah i mean would you say
44:10 gaming is more important than running to take a crap sometimes
44:15 i've never i've never actually pooped myself
44:20 but i have been in situations thank you i'm glad no but like but gamer bladder
44:25 is a thing oh totally a thing where like you won't go pee for like a whole day
44:29 because you've just been sitting down the whole time you brought all your supplies to wherever you're gaming
44:33 you're eating you're drinking you're gaming the whole day goes by you stand
44:37 up and all of a sudden you're like whoa and that puts pressure on your bladder
44:41 and is actually not a good thing so so sure okay number three continuation or
44:45 escalation of gaming despite the occurrence of negative consequences okay
44:49 yep yep i'm still screwed okay um okay
44:53 okay but there's a few other things here okay so the behavior pattern needs to be
44:56 of sufficient severity to result in significant impairment in personal
45:00 family social educational occupational or other important areas of functioning
45:03 okay i don't think i've had uh
45:06 one of them previously in my life but not now yeah okay yeah i i told my
45:10 girlfriend that i was grounded on tuesdays and thursdays so that i could raid
45:13 oh but that was a long time ago okay that was a long time ago
45:19 yeah this sounds like some of the uh some of the um
45:23 some of the like celebrities and stuff who have been accused of sexual assault
45:26 where like the defenses that was a really long time ago
45:31 you know what you're disordered man that's it that's all there is to it you
45:34 are disordered yeah there's no denying it
45:38 um okay the pattern of gaming behavior must be oh maybe continuous episodic or
45:43 recurrent see maybe so you're not off the ground if it occurs then you're done
45:48 all right but yeah yeah but it said may may so the gaming behavior and other
45:53 features are normally evident over a period of at least 12 months in order
45:56 for a diagnosis to be assigned although the required duration may be shortened
46:00 if all diagnostic requirements are met and symptoms are severe so what what
46:04 happens if you're diagnosed with so this inclusion basically means that in a
46:11 could you be forcefully hospitalized in a more socialist country like say for
46:15 example yes i think some people would argue canada is pretty darn socialist
46:20 in some ways yeah um it could be that your tax dollars
46:26 oh could be spent rehabilitating someone from
46:32 gaming disorder
46:36 so the the inclusion you're gonna have to rehabilitate me in
46:40 the who guidelines will mean that it will officially become a health
46:43 condition a diagnosis that can be used by doctors official healthcare other
46:47 healthcare workers and insurance companies so you can't be
46:52 because there's some cases where you can be admitted to like a mental health
46:56 hospital by someone who isn't yourself right that's a thing right
47:00 uh i can speak from not my own personal
47:04 experience being admitted but i definitely know someone who has admitted
47:07 okay not of their own could you be admitted
47:10 to a hospital for gaming addiction that's like it not of your own accord to
47:14 be clear this is not gaming addiction this is gaming disorder gaming disorder
47:18 gaming disorder gaming disorder because it's broadcast could someone bring their
47:21 kid and be like my kid likes league of
47:24 legends so the league of legends
47:28 the legal sergeant yes if you're going to be the ignorant parent
47:32 okay my kid is addicted to law uh to the law
47:36 yeah okay the lol the wall the lol yeah okay could you put them in a hospital
47:43 imagine this like that has its own like essentially
47:46 like white padded cell that doesn't have video games could you have gaming
47:50 disorder so bad that you need disability
47:53 pay i was talking earlier oh my god
47:57 oh my god
48:01 the twitch chat's like they like league of legends that's a disorder
48:07 god damn burn that was pretty good i like that uh so wait but do they take
48:12 away your gaming stuff if you have disabilities i don't know
48:17 because then then wouldn't they just be paying you to indulge in your house yeah
48:20 but like that's like um like okay i don't know what the the what amendment
48:24 it probably is there's probably some amendment where it's nobody's business
48:27 what you spend your money no seriously which is like in much the same way that
48:30 you can like be disabled and
48:33 you can be getting um like you can be
48:37 okay like you can get this i don't know what the government money is called
48:41 because there's all kinds of different government money for different like there's disability and there's
48:46 out of work but not disabled and then there's out of work temporarily and then
48:49 there's like mental health disorder out of work and then there's like welfare i don't
48:54 even know what welfare is exactly but like it's something to do with is it
48:57 called welfare in canada i don't even think so yeah yeah like i don't know
49:01 some kind of social services some kind of there's lots of different names but
49:04 like i don't think they're allowed to tell you hey by the way the reason that
49:08 you're not very functional is that you've like been super addicted to drugs for a long time and your brain is adult
49:13 um you can't spend this money we're giving you on drugs like i actually
49:16 don't think they can do that so if they can't do that how do they prevent you from spending money on a graphics card
49:20 and they're not going to take things from you so they're not going to take
49:23 your computer they're not going to take yeah like i don't think they can repo you're going to take your place and
49:27 they're not going to take your expertise so you just get paid to
49:32 play video games i mean if we're gonna do this like if we're gonna you know if
49:36 we're gonna do this then let's just have a minimum
49:39 guaranteed income and get it out of the way which we're working on to be fair
49:42 canada's working on that there's a pilot project somewhere in ontario some little
49:45 town is looking because it is time like if if
49:49 if if we're the the only option here appears like if you're gonna go
49:52 socialism then you go full socialism okay
49:56 oh man this is this is this is going to be
50:01 there is going to be some lawsuits
50:04 and there is going to be some well like some public debates
50:08 admitting in order to get disability insurance or
50:14 disability money yeah and like whatever can you imagine like it said
50:17 specifically insurance companies can you imagine insurance companies being able
50:21 to charge you a higher premium because you got diagnosed with gamer disorder
50:24 when you were like a kid or whatever like can you imagine
50:28 what my goodness
50:32 oh man and this is so vague can we can we
50:35 pay attention to that too like it's really vague holy cow like if i if i
50:40 like update a little mobile game under the
50:43 table at dinner one time is that like impairing
50:47 my my like family if grandpa doesn't like it then you just impaired your
50:51 family function man yeah like holy cow
50:56 all right this is cool this was posted by tomorrow on the forum the original
51:00 article is from tech spot here and this was something you said you really
51:04 i'm 100 certain that i played everquest or wow or something when my mom didn't
51:09 want me to like did i did i like interfere with family function yeah i
51:13 think so but we moved on to a different topic anyways okay so this is over there
51:17 this is sorry i'm pointing at this oh that makes sense
51:23 don't worry about it awkward um so okay so proposed dmca
51:27 not an actual thing yeah not yet anyway proposed it's a dmca exemption
51:32 uh would allow people to resurrect dead online games this has been brought up
51:36 this is pretty good by the museum of art and digital entertainment my biggest
51:40 reason why i like this yes is because honestly gaming companies have been in a
51:44 really weird spot yep it's not even entirely their fault they don't really
51:48 have a choice no so like blizzard going after the private server guys um anyone
51:53 else taking an online game that requires
51:57 server login to some kind so it's just wow is an easy example for
52:02 this and it's like been very recently largely it's also not a perfect example
52:05 though just because it's like technically still supported even though it's just like newer versions of it
52:10 let's use the matrix online sure let's see
52:14 oh terrible game but let's use the matrix
52:17 online someone still wants to play it someone is actively trying to
52:21 essentially rebuild that game but the people that made the matrix
52:25 online and the people that own the rights to the matrix online or the
52:29 matrix in general can't allow them to
52:32 spin up their own servers because under like copyright style law that would be
52:38 not defending your copyright or something it's it's not defending your
52:41 something i think it's copyright
52:44 so with this exemption that would mean that
52:48 you don't have to go after these people to defend your copyright
52:51 you don't have to that's no longer a thing so these gaming companies would be
52:56 able to just let people build small tiny little communities
53:00 around their games that they don't want to or can't support anymore and it says
53:05 in here ea
53:08 the electronic arts online services shutdown list includes more than 300
53:15 titles and servers dropped out of service in the last four years
53:21 and so anyone who tries to resurrect any of those things is going to end up with
53:25 a seasoned assistant notice from the copyright holder because otherwise if ea
53:29 themselves 10 years down the line and we have seen
53:33 gaming franchises get resurrected after 10 years of inactivity
53:38 that's the thing i mean look at okay serious sam
53:41 yeah would have been an example of that i don't know if it was 10 years but it was a lot yeah anything valve does
53:46 yeah anyway the point is if they ever want to
53:52 resurrect that iep the fact that they haven't been defending at all this time
53:55 weakens their copyright claim yeah against all of it um
54:00 so it's a big problem now something like wow is confusing
54:03 because with wow what people are trying to resurrect is like wrath of lich king
54:08 bernie crusade and classic with our three different versions of wow
54:12 but wow is still running and still exists so it's in a very gray area i
54:18 don't think i don't think you'd be able to win with
54:21 this one because then how do you define a patch versus an expansion and how
54:25 quickly can someone actually do this and et cetera et cetera so the last time this was brought up in 2015 it was shut
54:30 down because the proposal uh because the specific games mentioned
54:35 in the proposal could still be played over a lan but the new request argues that local
54:41 multiplayer is not really a thing anymore yeah
54:44 so if you don't have the option it's almost never to play it
54:48 on a lan nintendo's still doing it and the servers are shut down
54:53 then effectively it's just gone
54:56 you can't have that experience anymore yeah and why for what
54:59 doesn't make any sense i i'm a huge proponent of this and i
55:03 don't think this is gonna stop companies like ea from being dick bags
55:08 but um it will allow people to ignore that
55:13 anyways and be like well this is a dmcx
55:16 exemption i'm just going to run this anyways what's up oh
55:19 sorry i just um oh yeah yeah okay so last last topic sure posted by
55:24 aluminium tech on the forum um netflix adds HDR streaming to Windows 10 in the
55:28 uwp app and microsoft edge um which we actually think we might have
55:33 a better understanding of why 4k and HDR would be exclusive to
55:37 microsoft edge it actually does there's some there's some things
55:41 like especially in this that are a little bit more complicated
55:44 to figure out why than what we did but in general
55:49 edge seems to handle color color and some other video stuff better
55:53 than other browsers which is weird because there's a lot of stuff that
55:57 doesn't do that sucks in like so many different ways but it's good at that so
56:03 you can get HDR netflix if you have a premium netfix plan use microsoft edge
56:08 or the universal Windows app if you have Windows 10 with the fall creators update
56:12 if you have an HDR display if you have an Intel 7th standard newer CPU AMD not
56:16 supported and if you have integrated graphics or a gtx 10 series with three
56:20 gigs of vram or more AMD not supported
56:23 that's a lot of that's a lot of stars and asterisks
56:26 and asterisks yeah what okay what is a premium netflix
56:31 plan is there non-premium netflix plans yeah you just uh like 1080p or 4k or
56:36 whatever like i have a premium one oh so that means you have a 4k streaming plan
56:40 yeah it costs like another six bucks a month or whatever oh wasn't that included at some point
56:44 i have no idea i got on the netflix bandwagon like super late okay yeah
56:49 all right so that's pretty much it for the show today thank you so much for tuning in we'll see you guys again no
56:55 no no Floatplane we will never see you guys again because he's going to float
56:59 planes sorry about that
57:03 oh yeah we've actually got a bunch of really cool stuff over on Floatplane right now should i go on to the actual
57:07 site uh i want to do it on the site sure i
57:11 want to do it on the site gonna be confusing for people again
57:15 i already wasn't able to do support quests for this week sorry if you
57:18 sent in a support ticket and you're like what the heck it will be responded to this weekend um
57:24 probably not tonight so i have to prepare for the stream probably not tomorrow because i'm doing a big 24-hour
57:29 charity stream probably not sunday because i'll still be doing the 20-hour
57:33 charity stream and sleeping but either sunday or monday and it's a
57:37 long weekend so i'm including monday is in the weekend you're gonna have to stop doing those 24-hour streams we've talked
57:41 about this i know you're getting it it's 20 this time is it 20. it's 20. yeah
57:46 it's we're saying like 20 ish so it's like 20. we're talking about it and he's
57:49 like yeah like i don't know what it is every time i do one of these 24 hour
57:53 streams i get sick yeah and like even if i sleep enough hours like i
57:57 still feel like crap i'm like yo dude you're old yeah it's happening it
58:01 happened to me at like exactly the same age i specifically asked so the the
58:05 theme with this one so the stream that does the best is my like birthday
58:08 charity stream and i think why is because i do a whole
58:12 bunch of games but i do each game just for an hour and there's a reason why
58:15 it's there it's it's my favorite game from that year and we iterate one game
58:18 every year so i was trying to recreate that idea and someone suggested what if
58:22 you just do games in 2017 so i went okay i'm going to do
58:26 interesting not necessarily good not necessarily bad but interesting games
58:30 for 2017. so like battlefront 2 is going to be involved oh yeah because we'll
58:34 just talk during the stream about the loot box controversy and what actually
58:38 happened with the game what happened at ea all that kind of stuff so it'll be games gaming disorder confirmed
58:42 yeah pretty much uh yeah no yeah exactly
58:46 uh good call um but yeah like games that are discussion
58:51 worthy is what we're going to talk about so so i asked a whole bunch that were
58:54 actually discussion worthy because i was like nope nope nope nope nope i need to
58:57 get this stream shorter so i cut it down to 20.
59:02 all right i am loading it up
59:05 boom floodplain okay so that's a placeholder thing right
59:09 there don't ignore that yeah but it looks like kyle has a video up
59:13 USB-C all the things if you are subscribed to bit wit specifically but
59:17 with ultra yeah kyle also has a thing here
59:21 um wait have we been pushing stuff live on this still uh yeah oh no i don't
59:25 think we have oh lol people aren't clicking public then dang it
59:29 hooray okay i will i will they're your employees now
59:33 yeah well still i guess i guess
59:36 okay so there are did you ever actually tell people how to do it
59:39 um i don't think you did yeah nick did
59:43 super late but you never did did you you told me not to make that video that i
59:47 had already fully planned because you would do it no i didn't do that i should
59:50 have just done that um i told you i should have done it too
59:54 is best case under 35 bucks that's already live on youtube oh dang okay
59:58 so no one's been pushing public great all right i did i did i published this
60:04 which also has a description this thing's sick by the way cool uh 144
60:08 hertz 300 bucks us wow ips 1440p wow uh 28 inch
60:15 wow killer absolutely killer that's cool
60:18 like the crushinator um we got it from an ebay seller the same
60:23 guys who sent over that uh that pretty cheap um ultra wide like a while back
60:26 interesting that's pretty cool handy wake up tech
60:31 this video this video was done did you school oh you are not you're currently
60:35 not logged in oh brilliant oh i'm on the oh
60:40 well reasons why we don't use the site that's still being developed on um okay
60:45 so that's fair that's fair what you said just there you were fair to me just now um so to
60:50 explain to the viewers who are probably like what the heck um he's on his
60:53 creator account so his creator account isn't technically subscribed to himself
60:58 i think yeah i thought we fixed that but that might have been overwritten or
61:01 something no no you fixed it for kyle oh yeah but like it was like it was a
61:06 temporary fix like a dumb fix like not a real fix wait what is this
61:11 oh yeah why you do this to me
61:15 well they needed it so what you can do my other test account
61:20 is also not working i hate you so much
61:25 i hate you with all of my heart and soul that's great all right that's fine this
61:28 one's fine okay all right so what do we got over there
61:33 this is a cool video oh that's i've been waiting to see this
61:37 thing for seven years the chiller resurrection
61:41 is real um there it is
61:45 check this out that is a CPU cooler right there that thing you're looking at
61:49 that i'm lifting up onto the desk so when did you originally make that thing
61:53 um it was the first
61:56 oh man hold on did i work at ncix yet
62:01 just trying to think i think it was my first summer with
62:04 Yvonne so it's been like 13 years ago
62:08 yeah so he resurrected a CPU cooler from
62:11 13 years ago yeah that's like actively cooled and all this kind of stuff it's
62:15 it's like it's like refrigerant cooled it's pretty sick um we've got a tech
62:20 quickie on dolby atmos and dtsx because a lot of people actually didn't really
62:24 know what they were by the way tyler suggested today and i was very surprised
62:28 that we haven't done it uh we should do a Techquickie on cryptocurrencies
62:32 oh we have done it oh was it just like a long time ago that
62:35 was a long time ago is this does it move maybe do a new one john's working on it
62:39 oh okay yep cool Yvonne was giving me crap about it
62:43 it's just like austin did one i'm like yeah so did we she's like well he did
62:47 one recently like okay fine
62:51 we'll make a new one um
62:55 what else we got oh the beginning of this video is sick
63:00 like it's actually awesome
63:09 it's like epically cinematic and stuff
63:14 what
63:17 this is the lenovo 25th anniversary edition think pad
63:24 what like isn't this just way over the top
63:28 but why did
63:35 oh my goodness
63:42 that is ridiculous it's all just for fun yeah yeah yeah um
63:48 we have uh the review of the dankest ergonomic keyboard the ergodox ez
63:53 that's got led lighting on an ergonomic keyboard
63:57 because why not dale the sleeper is live nice this has
64:02 been really well received this is um not
64:06 i think strictly speaking as powerful as the last sleeper pc but it's super small
64:11 six core processor and it's in this
64:14 epic epic chassis really cool build uh tech showdown part
64:19 three is up and the conclusion goes up tomorrow um for those of you who have
64:23 been watching tech showdown but have been a little disappointed um feedback
64:26 on part three is a lot better part three is kind of where it picks up
64:31 so part three is where you're going to want to go watch it over on floatplay
64:34 i'm surprised it's gonna be four parts
64:38 um i didn't expect four parts when we were shooting long story okay um okay so
64:43 i think that's pretty much it for what we've got going on right now
64:47 yeah cool there we go although i thought i had
64:50 like uh like an exclusive behind the scenes that maybe i forgot to post oops
64:55 yes i did i think i did oops
64:58 okay so that's a thing just you know remember to mark it public
65:01 well no no i see it's confusing because there's no there's marking it public in the cms
65:06 which we have to do and then there's like remembering to like post a thread
65:10 in the forum now when i i just want everyone to move over to the site i'm i'm like it's not ready yet i know it's
65:16 not ready don't do that all right so thanks for watching this week see you
65:19 again next week same bat time same bad channel thanks boy
