so today I'm going to be taking a quick look at kind of a neat product from Ben
0:04
Q it's the Joy B gp1 mini projector and
0:08
I guess the first thing I apologize I'm not unboxing it today it's already set
0:12
up so I'll just show you a quick overview of the accessories it comes
0:15
with first it comes with a remote take special note that the top buttons are
0:19
for the projector and the bottom buttons are for the card reader that's going to
0:23
come in handy when you're trying to control this thing oh oh I knocked it oh
0:26
well whatever okay it comes with a little case that houses the project
0:30
itself but not the not the AC adapter so
0:34
it's kind of not quite there yet you'll need another another holder if you want
0:38
to hold the whole thing so inside the box I actually haven't even looked at
0:43
what's in here it's probably a manual and probably okay so you've got a
0:47
users's manual on a dis then you have a quick oh this is kind of neat you have a
0:52
quick little chart that shows you what formats are supported what resolution is
0:56
supported so ntsc goes up to 720 by 480
1:01
and that seems to be the highest resolution supported by the gp1 okay
1:04
you've got your warranty information card your safety manual you know safety
1:09
is important when you're projecting things at a wall and then there's
1:14
something else in here yeah there we go okay so this is a quick start guide so
1:19
there is the quick start guide for The Joy B so the thing I have it set up with
1:23
right now is with the USB card reader so I'm going to go ahead and use my little
1:27
remote here to show you that I can show
1:30
you uh pictures okay these aren't
1:34
particularly great pictures I apologize for that basically it's a okay select
1:39
there now it'll play back my pictures I'm going to turn down the lights so you
1:42
can get a better idea of what the joy be here is capable of okay I'm going to go
1:46
turn off the other light as well and then I'm going to skip ahead to the next
1:50
picture there we go so you can see that in the dark and I hope you can see that
1:54
yeah you can see that in the dark The Joy B is actually quite quite bright and
1:59
I can make shadow puppets okay so this is my first attempt at UV Lighting in a
2:04
computer you can see that I wasn't quite there yet and the other one is my
2:08
parents cat Batman wearing a Christmas hat so uh he's quite enjoying that as
2:14
you can see now that's not all the joy be can do I mean first of all oh yeah I
2:19
haven't even showed you the here come look at the projector okay so you have
2:23
uh buttons to control the projector up on the top these are all touch sensitive
2:26
buttons and I I touched one I hope I didn't do anything okay and then you have a focus wheel right here which was
2:31
quite easy to dial in in terms of inputs you've got the power input on this side
2:36
and I you can you see that enough okay good and then you have a USB port on the
2:40
back which is where I'm viewing these uh these photos off of and you can also run
2:44
video then at the back you have a little proprietary Port here which is good for
2:49
composite as well as VGA in which I have
2:52
plugged in right now and then there's pretty much nothing on the other side can you come around and have a quick
2:56
look at the front of the unit here I realize it might be a little bit bright
2:59
but there you go go you've got like a white finish and the fan is a little bit
3:03
loud the exhaust comes out the front it's a touch loud but it's not going to
3:06
be too obnoxious if you're giving a presentation or whatever else it is
3:09
you're doing now in terms of the other mode here I've got it hooked up to my
3:13
laptop so if you were into okay so I'm going to pick a source oh yeah and
3:18
there's a coming support for an iPod dock which is kind of cool so you can
3:22
either use uh went away so you can either use VGA composite the USB reader
3:28
or an iPod doc so I'm going to select this one
3:31
enter all signal searching and there we go we got
3:35
Warcraft 3 so on the PC it says the max
3:39
supported resolution is 800x 600 anyway I think that pretty much concludes it
3:44
thank you for checking out my unboxing or well I didn't really unbox it thank
3:48
you for checking out my product Showcase of the BenQ Joy
3:53
gp1 so one thing that we didn't really talk actually two things we didn't
3:57
really talk about three things first of all the V gp1 has built-in speakers
4:01
they're only 2 watt but they are there in case you need them for the composite
4:05
input another thing is how big of an image can you get out of it well you can
4:09
see we have a very bright very satisfying image right now it's uh about
4:15
I guess it's about three three something feet tall okay and then however many
4:20
feet wide and we're still we still got our Warcraft 3 running the colors are
4:24
quite Vivid and uh I am actually looking forward to playing around with this with
4:28
some gaming test particularly driving games thank you for checking out my
4:32
video blog
