0:00 this is a very cool product this is uh I believe the second fanless power supply
0:06 that I have unboxed but what's really special about this one is the fact that
0:10 it achieves its fanless design not by
0:13 the use of extremely heavy heat sinks but rather through incredible efficiency
0:18 so this is a 400 wat unit from seic and it is 80 plus gold certified we're
0:24 starting to see more and more 80 plus gold certified power supplies but this
0:28 is the first one that uses that incredible efficiency now remember
0:32 efficiency means how much power it can produce versus how much excess random
0:38 heat that it outputs so it uses that efficiency to Output so little heat that
0:42 it can just run without a fan at all so
0:46 you can see here we have a summary of the connectors oh this is also really
0:50 cool single 12vt 33 amp rail so this is
0:53 a single rail design 80 plus gold
0:57 fanless power supply let's have a look at the back here so seic has a uh a
1:03 slightly different design for the output
1:06 uh okay you know what I'll just let you look at the diagram because I haven't
1:10 really studied it ahead ahead of time but uh basically what they're able to do
1:15 is by keeping the amperages lower within the power supply overall they're able to
1:20 lose less efficiency that way so they have high current goldplated terminals I
1:24 guess we can start the unboxing Now High reliability 105 degree grade A
1:30 capacitors conductive okay so solid
1:33 solid capacitors and a fiveyear warranty
1:36 on this unit it is fanless 0
1:40 DB so this would be great for a media PC
1:44 for uh you know what this would be great for almost any PC because the reality of
1:49 it is if you're running uh a single graphics card like single PCI E six pin
1:54 or8 pin connector and you're running like almost any almost any CPU on market
2:00 like if you just need a computer with like good CPU lots of RAM you throw an
2:04 SSD in there a hard drive in there and you don't need like uh a high-end video
2:09 card or anything like that this is like perfect because you can just have
2:14 perfect silence for your power supply and 400 watts really is enough for
2:18 almost any PC unless you start throwing like overclocking and high-end graphics
2:23 cards into the mix so for okay and only
2:27 should operate in a well-designed system chassis that provides good ventilation
2:30 for modern computer components so you don't want to throw this in a sealed box
2:34 is basically what they're saying you need to use a proper case that has uh
2:39 probably at least one fan in it to provide some incidental air flow to your
2:43 power supply so here's a summary of some of the extra features wow special
2:47 features gets all of two pages in this in this manual out of eight in English
2:51 so go ahead and pause the video and read through that if you so desire uh here we
2:56 are a little bit more about it their whole X Series so it goes all the way
3:00 from 400 watt for fanless units all the
3:03 way up to 12200 WTS just
3:07 incredible okay let me see warranty and disclaimer some safety notes very nice
3:12 is this a modular power supply too oh look at that it's modular Okay cool so
3:18 why don't we have a quick look here at what we get in terms of
3:22 accessories some seasonic cable ties very nice we get some uh some zip ties
3:28 and then we get a nice little uh seic sticker powered by
3:34 seic all right let's have a look at the power supply first for a change I
3:37 normally look at the cables first but we're going to do it the other way around o nice sticker it's a very nice
3:42 sticker feels like quality okay so I actually don't have my tripod propped
3:47 against me today so um maybe I'll just pause the video for a sec all right as
3:51 soon as we take the power supply out of the satiny sleeve that it comes packed
3:54 in we see a sticker on top that says install with the ventilation top cover
3:59 facing up and please remove this label before use so let's go around to the
4:04 side where we also have some more ventilation here at the front we have
4:08 the modular interface we're going to go ahead and remove that label on the other
4:12 side we have some more ventilation holes so I guess presumably the way this works
4:17 is simply via convection so as components in here heat up the heat gets
4:23 uh exhausted out here just because of the simple fact that heat does rise and
4:27 then seic has strategically plac placed the intake holes which are presumably at
4:33 the back and here along the sides so and
4:36 the front so that the air comes in cools the most critical components first and
4:41 then once it's heated Rises out the top of the power supply so it's very cool
4:45 looking you know it's not nearly as heavy as uh as the other fanless power
4:49 supply that I had a look at which is kind of uh kind of refreshing in some
4:53 ways because it means that your system doesn't already weigh as much as a like
4:58 wheelbarrow full of brick before you even start putting other components in
5:01 it so there's the full specs there I think we already showed this on the side
5:05 and you can see even at the bottom of the unit there are a few ventilation holes so these are likely strategically
5:10 placed so they can get a little bit of air flow to some critical component that
5:14 needs to get a little bit of cooling done so let's have a look at the modular
5:18 cables that are included with the uh X
5:22 Series 400 W fanless power
5:25 supply okay I might have to pause CL again here
5:30 actually here I'll just get someone else to hold the camera uh Rumble can you hold the camera for me thanks
5:37 bu all right so inside here we will
5:40 find uh okay one modular to two four to
5:45 four plus 4 pin power connector so that's either a four pin or an eight pin
5:49 depending on what your motherboard requires then we have a PCI Express 6
5:54 plus2 pin as well as a 24 pin power for
5:59 your mother motherboard in the next bag
6:02 in the handy dandy cable holding bag we
6:05 have oh okay we've also got a power cord for the back of the
6:09 unit and then in here we will find SATA and Molex
6:16 cables okay so we got one single Molex Conn no two Molex
6:22 connectors and then we have uh you know what let's just here let's
6:26 just crack this open here so I can
6:29 clearly see what I'm
6:33 doing all right what do we have so this one has two
6:38 SATA this one has this is a Molex to two
6:41 floppy adapter so you can use that if you still require one of those
6:45 connectors we have a a triple SATA connector and then we have a three Mox
6:51 and a two MOX so that's all the modular cables now I'm just going to check
6:55 really quickly if you can actually plug in all modular cables at the same time
6:59 time and it looks like you cannot so you're going to have to decide uh which
7:05 which three of these four connectors you
7:08 are going to want to plug in so you can either have uh five SATA and three Molex
7:13 or five Molex and three SATA so thank you for checking out my unboxing of the
7:17 cic X Series 400 wat 80 plus gold power
7:22 supply and I love those gold heat sinks in there just a nice little accent
