0:00 all right guys so I'm going to take a slightly different approach to my
0:03 temperature and Acoustics testing than I
0:07 normally do this is with the HD
0:10 6990 so what I'm going to do is instead of holding my camera here close to the
0:16 fan I'm actually going to hold it above
0:19 the card right here and the reason I'm
0:22 going to do that is because there's two things I'm going to compare it against
0:26 I'm going to compare it against a single GTX 5 80 and I'm going to compare it
0:32 against two GTX 580s in SLI so that'll
0:35 give us a comparison against a high
0:39 powerered single card as well as two high powered cards running in tandem so
0:45 here's our idle temperature reading which is 39 to
0:51 38° in this particular room all right so
0:54 we've got our load temperature for the radon 6990 and uh that is 8 2° and oh man you
1:02 guys can't see this at all can you focus focus focus focus come on focus on my
1:07 hand focus on the screen whatever you'll have to take my word for it 82° and 87°
1:13 on each of the gpus so I'm fairly certain that the 82° is on this GPU and
1:18 the 87° is on this GPU and I think the reason for that is that this Grill at
1:23 the back is more restrictive or uh at
1:26 yeah than this Grill at the front of the card because as soon as I go like this
1:30 this the cooler GPU starts to heat up to the same kind of temperatures as the
1:35 less cool GPU so uh that's something
1:38 maybe they uh if you installed an aftermarket less restrictive Grill on
1:41 your card you might have some success keeping down your GPU temperatures a
1:46 little bit all right so right now I'm running only one of the gpus uh at its
1:51 fan speed uh at its load fan speed so this is at
1:55 91° in furmark so this is the EVGA card
1:58 that's running because remember wind openg GL programs will not run in SLI
2:02 mode and for my two card Acoustics test
2:05 I'm just going to take both cards I'm going to turn them up to the same percentage fan speed manually because I
2:10 can't be bothered to run it and open our in full screen mode and change the exe
2:14 and all those little tricks so the fan speed's around 80% so I'm just going to
2:19 turn both fan speeds to 80% and take a
2:23 reading
2:31 and just for last guys here's 100% fan
2:35 speed on the 6990 although it never ramped up to this speed during my
2:39 testing so I'm going to be turning off auto in After Burner go away cat turning
2:46 off auto and after burner and watch the piece of paper on the wall when I click
2:50 apply okay bear in mind the card is here so it's about yay far away from the wall
2:57 okay oh watch the cat too this might be funny
3:05 see it's lifted away from the wall so in conclusion the Radeon 6990 is
3:12 pretty darn loud but it's also pretty darn powerful don't forget to subscribe
