0:00 so today I'm going to be unboxing the blue ant S1 this is a Bluetooth car kit
0:05 and it is a handsfree device that basically just allows you to drive in
0:09 your car without using your hands on your cell phone now with the local laws
0:13 changing these have become a very hot product category because come the New
0:17 Year everyone will be required to use one legally in order to talk on their
0:22 phone while they're driving so let's have a look at some of the features that make the S1 a particularly good value
0:27 first of all you can talk handsfree okay very good it supports voice dialing as
0:32 well as voice answering it is multi-point so that means if you have
0:35 one of these in your car you can actually have two different people with
0:38 their phones uh mounted to it and then whichever one Rings you can answer that
0:42 phone that's very convenient has noise and Echo cancellation Bluetooth 2.0 you
0:47 can stream music from your phone it operates up to 10 M from the phone and
0:50 if you have a 10 m long car then yeah I
0:53 mean okay that should basically be all you really need okay up to 15 hours of
0:57 talk time and8 hours of sorry 800 hours of standby so let's get this open and
1:02 have a quick look now I also want to do a quick video outlining the uh setup
1:07 procedure for this but let's have just a short look at the unit itself if I could
1:11 just get the Box open then that would work really really really well okay so
1:18 I've actually used one of these before although it wasn't an S1 but I found it
1:22 was uh these visor mounted kits are an incredibly effective way of mounting the
1:28 handsfree in your kit in a way that it can actually hear you and you can hear
1:31 the speaker clearly without window noise affecting it okay so first of all it
1:35 comes with a charger so this is just a standard wall jack to USB 5vt charger so
1:41 that means you could probably charge it and I'm going to say with 99% certainty
1:45 you could charge it if you just plugged it into your computer with a USB cable
1:49 so let's have a look at the documentation that comes with it first
1:52 of all we have okay wow there's like four different things in here S1 okay so
1:57 this gives you a brief overview of the unit itself s so you can see that we've
2:01 got the speaker the Bluetooth light the microphone the charger port and/ reject
2:06 button volume up and down and the multi-function button so this is onof
2:10 pairing answering calls voice dialing Redal and audio transfer Okay so we've
2:15 got all that then you've got a basic manual showing you how to do pretty much
2:19 everything you need to do so it's a quick start guide then we have that but
2:23 in French all right and then we have a warranty information card and then
2:28 finally last but not least we have the S1 itself so let me just see if I can
2:33 figure out how to get this out of here oh that's um I may not be able to get
2:39 this out because I'm just not that clever some days and oh there we go okay
2:44 so the clip comes off here at least it's
2:47 supposed to I think yeah clip comes the
2:50 clip comes off and
2:55 then the clip comes off awesome I didn't
2:59 break it okay so the clip comes off and this is the clip that you use to mount
3:03 it to your sun visor so that it basically sits above your head right
3:07 about here and you can see that the mic is conveniently positioned on this side
3:10 so that it's going to be away from the window and here we can have a look at all the different features that we have
3:15 here so we've got the speaker and then there's your Bluetooth light there's the
3:18 mic there's the charging port that was mentioned in our quick start guide and
3:22 then here are all the pertinent buttons so there's your your main confirm okay
3:27 button volume up and down as well as your cancel reject Etc button so it's
3:32 quite it's quite a light unit and I look forward to showing you guys how to set
3:35 it up
