0:07 today I have the lynus e3200 high performance dual band and router so dual
0:13 band is mostly useful in scenarios where you have a lot
0:18 of wireless networks lying around and there's actually oh you know what I'll
0:21 be back in a minute okay guys so here I have a pretty cool little app called
0:26 Wi-Fi analyzer this is an Android app so I want to explain why dual B and is
0:30 often necessary so if there are a lot of wireless networks in your area then you
0:34 can definitely benefit from Dual Band so check this out this particular app only
0:38 analyzes the 2.4 GHz range and you can see that where I live there's actually
0:43 only a couple of Wi-Fi networks so you
0:46 can see these two curves are centered over Channel 6 so that means that both
0:50 the cornerhouse 2 which is my Wi-Fi and Tellis whatever this is which is I guess
0:55 a neighbor are are both running off of Channel 6 so what you can do to get away
1:00 to get the best P performance is to take your Wi-Fi network and put it on maybe
1:04 Channel 11 or 12 which will get you away
1:07 from interference and incidentally that one's also some Wi-Fi network called
1:11 Library so what happens is once this starts to get really crowded with
1:15 different Wi-Fi networks running on the same channels performance can be
1:19 affected so that is when it might be
1:22 useful there we go put that away for now to get a dualband router so what you
1:27 want to do is you want to configure your router then and you'll have to make sure
1:31 that you have dual band compatible adapters and devices but you want to
1:34 configure your router to run in the 5 gz
1:38 band so what that means is you can remove yourself from all that
1:42 interference that's occurring on the 2.4 GHz band and get the best possible
1:47 performance out of your router so inherently 5 GHz does not perform better
1:51 than 2.4 GHz but in a scenario let's say
1:54 you live in an apartment building or in a dense densely populated area in a
1:58 scenario where lots of the 2.4 GHz band is already taken up with other traffic
2:03 you can get away from it and you can get the True Performance that you are trying
2:07 to achieve now this is not a concurrent dual band router concurrent dual band
2:11 means you can take those both of those channels and you can run them send and
2:15 receive data on both of them at the same time and get a performance boost that way this is more of like a a an a which
2:21 which one you want to use so 300 plus 300 megabit speed that is on both of the
2:27 available bands uh Superior range speed boost gbit ports a USB port that's very
2:32 cool to have included as well as an H it's hd3d ready that basically means
2:36 it's fast parental controls and easy setup this is a big one because linkis
2:40 routers are out of all of the ones that I have seen oh hold on give me a sec
2:46 guys cuz out of all the routers that I've encountered lyus ones are the
2:49 easiest to set up things like parental controls and guest networks and things
2:53 like that now I made a mistake this is a dualband concurrent router so that means
2:58 the scenario I gave you guys where you want to get away from interference that
3:01 is still true but the scenario I gave you guys where you want to use both
3:05 bands to send and receive data at the same time for performance boost that
3:09 does apply to this router so let's have a look at the back and see if there's
3:12 anything else there you go simultaneous dual band double the network bandwidth
3:15 to avoid interference and Max and maximize th throughput so that's a
3:19 shorter way of saying that long story that I gave you okay fast data transfer
3:23 rates enhanced mimo antenna array so like uh all of the recent linkis
3:28 products it has an internal antenna array but it does support multiple in
3:32 multiple out that is mimo okay speed boost plus yeah yeah signal strength
3:36 across greater distances all of this I think we've pretty much covered so far
3:40 gigabit Ethernet are import are included this is something that I would consider
3:44 an essential feature for any modern router because if you are using the
3:47 wired connections which are here then you're going to want to achieve the best
3:52 speed possible out of them in 1000 just doesn't cut it anymore we're getting
3:56 internet plans that are getting close to 100 megabit per second so want your
4:00 internal network if you're transferring large files watching HD videos over the
4:03 network whatever the case may be to definitely be gigabit so on the back
4:07 we've got our USB port which supports storage so you can uh set up a storage
4:11 device on there for your home network as well as for remote access gigabit
4:14 Ethernet ports times four as well as your Wan Port your WPS so that is your
4:19 one but OneTouch Wireless setup your power indicator and your 12vt input on
4:25 the sides you see ventilation holes so these are just for p passive cooling you
4:30 can actually see can you see those heat sinks in there yeah you can so you can
4:34 see the heat sinks in there so those are just going to be passively cooled from
4:37 air coming up through the bottom of the unit and then coming out the top of it
4:41 you also have included uh an AC
4:44 adapter one network cable as well as a lyus eer setup CD um this is one of the
4:51 cases where I actually kind of do recommend running the CD especially if
4:54 you're not experienced setting up routers it can be kind of Handy it just walks you through it it takes you to the
4:58 correct IP right off the bat and then walks you through the setup wizard
5:04 so I think that's pretty much it thank you for checking out my unboxing and
