0:05 adata xpg V2 memory kits are optimized for the latest Intel gaming platforms
0:10 check the link in the video description for more details now we all know ssds
0:14 are pretty much the ultimate in terms of performance on a desktop system for your
0:18 storage but what many of you probably actually do know is that you can run
0:23 multiple ssds together in raid zero kind of like SLI for ssds to get even better
0:29 performance out of of them particularly in sequential read and write operations
0:34 now it doesn't much like SLI it doesn't
0:37 necessarily scale perfectly it's like if you run 16 ssds in a system will it
0:42 perform 16 times better the answer is no but without getting into expensive fancy
0:48 Hardware raid cards or other Exotic Solutions we wanted to find out where
0:53 exactly is the limit in scaling for ssds
0:57 running on a regular Intel Desktop PC we
1:00 this platform because it has six SATA 36 GB per second ports running off of the
1:04 Intel chipset the last generation z77 only had two so it was really hard to do
1:10 this kind of an investigative thing so we decided to run four different
1:14 configurations by the way big thanks to adata for providing these sx900 sand
1:18 Force based ssds for our test we ran single drive two drive three drive and
1:25 four Drive I lost the last box I have no idea where it is so don't worry trust me
1:28 we definitely ran four Drive drives they're all there um and we wanted to
1:32 see where the differences in performance really start well disappearing so to
1:38 speak so we ran three different benchmarks we ran PC Mark Vantage so we
1:41 ran the storage subsystem test and what you'll see here is that it becomes quite
1:46 clear very quickly that just because you double the theoretical performance of
1:50 one aspect of your system doesn't mean that you're necessarily going to double
1:54 the real world performance because PC Mark is more of a real world oriented
1:58 test we also Alo see that that small performance difference even continues to
2:04 diminish as we add more and more drives giving us that sort of well aderes to
2:08 the law of diminishing returns just like you'd see with adding more channels to
2:11 memory operation or adding more graphics cards to an SLI or Crossfire config now
2:16 when we move on to a synthetic test we ran both reads and right speeds using
2:19 the black magic disc speed test which we found to be quite repeatable and quite
2:23 realistic in terms of theoretical maximums you'll see that once again we
2:27 see a very clear doubling of performance going from a single drive to a two Drive
2:33 configuration but once we get into these multi-drive configs three drives still
2:38 scales extremely well but adding a fourth drive really doesn't do a whole
2:42 lot for even theoretical performance so
2:45 while you'll still get extra capacity when you run four 256 gig ssds in raate
2:51 zero you get effectively 1 terab of capacity you won't necessarily continue
2:56 to get a speed Improvement and you should also be aware that every time you
3:00 add another SSD you are adding to the
3:04 points of failure that exist in your system and increasing the risk that just
3:09 by a single Drive failing you will lose
3:12 all of your data if you aren't doing very regular backups so thank you for
3:16 checking out this raid Zero Performance investigation with the adata sx900 ssds
3:22 don't forget to subscribe to lus techtips from unboxings reviews and other computer videos give the video a
3:26 like if you liked it give a dislike if you disliked it or you're having aad day
3:30 or you didn't like the cereal your mom bought from the grocery store and you
3:34 just wish you bought something else and leave a comment let me know your
3:37 favorite kind of cereal
