0:08 welcome to my unboxing and first look at the GoPro be a hero Motorsports hero
0:14 this is a true HD video camera that is
0:18 designed with a mounting system that allows you to mount it to your car or
0:22 your motorbike these are the pictures they have on the front let's go ahead
0:25 and have a look at this very fancy box from the side you've got it mounted on a
0:29 dirt bike there it's waterproof to 180 ft okay this is a
0:33 takes 5 megapixel photos included mounts
0:36 are right here supports suction cup two
0:39 curved adhesive mounts three flat adhesive mounts three-way pivot ARM and
0:43 cables are included all right uh you know what let's do this side first where
0:46 we've got it mounted on what appears to be a go-kart then we've got a dirt bike
0:50 again and here it is mounted in a car all right on the back we see the overall
0:54 specs so in terms of video we can support up to 1080p at 30 FPS or 720p at
1:01 30 or 60 FPS light sensitivity video for
1:06 okay the video format is h264 and it also supports mp4 file
1:10 format cool all right mono audio so it
1:14 does capture audio it uh has a 5 megapixel resolution
1:19 okay for photos that's good storage is done by SD card up to a 32 gig Max and
1:24 average record times are here so if you're recording at wow it looks like
1:28 you actually don't get much additional recording time for stepping down from
1:31 1080p to 720p so 12 minutes at 1080p
1:34 with uh per gig and 16 minutes per gig
1:38 at 720p okay USB 2 is included and it has a
1:44 battery that runs for approximately 2.25 hours per recording supports OSX as well
1:49 as Windows uh Vista but I suppose it will also support Windows 7 without much
1:55 difficulty as well so this was a complicated box to get open because of
1:59 the stick that are on the side here but why don't we have a look at the included
2:03 accessories and wow we've got some pretty uh Fancy Pants looking cables
2:08 here okay so that looks like a component HD video out okay then we have a
2:15 composite video out including audio I don't know why it has stereo audio
2:18 connectors when it only actually supports uh mono audio recording but
2:23 whatever I'm not going to not going to question it there's the USB cable for
2:26 transferring your data all right we got suction
2:31 Mount
2:34 H okay so these can be loosened oh yeah
2:37 there we go there we go so you can actually adjust that a number of
2:41 different ways there you go you press in
2:45 order to I guess attach it here let's
2:50 see yep press to attach and that one will in theory
2:56 release it or we press to release
3:01 well it comes off okay next we have some
3:05 double-sided tape Mount
3:08 ones okay so there's something there's something
3:13 else there's other more different thing no that's the same
3:17 thing okay let's just dump these out here got another one of
3:23 those there's one of these and another
3:26 one of those so it looks like these Mount by by sliding in
3:33 here okay so yeah you can clip that guy on there and then uh this guy can o I
3:39 don't know how to get it out now there we go so you can slide that off so basically these allow you to position
3:45 them in a bunch of different places where you are might be likely to attach
3:49 the GoPro at some later point in time so then there's a couple different options
3:54 for mounts that go on there so there's this one and this one okay
4:01 and last but not least that one okay wow
4:04 it's kind of neat that it includes all these different accessories so you can mount it on a variety of different
4:08 Vehicles just by by grabbing it and clipping it on all right here we
4:14 have wow all right I'm just going to cheat
4:20 because that's what I do when I don't know what else to do okay so here we go
4:25 two curved adhesive mounts that's these
4:28 here you might as well look at these while I while I talk about them oh no
4:31 these must be the two curved adhesive mounts yeah they're curved so that
4:34 they'll stick to something that is rounded see that two curved adhesive
4:38 mounts uh three flat adhesive mounts
4:41 that is these guys right here so these are flat on the bottom all right we have
4:46 three-way pivot ARM that must be this
4:50 guy okay then we
4:53 have just a bunch of mounts fine okay
4:57 documentation is all included Within instructions which I will definitely
5:02 definitely need at this point in time we've got a couple different languages
5:05 for instructions hopefully there's an English one somewhere consult
5:11 consult consult okay that's okay we'll figure
5:15 that out later and warranty so warranty
5:18 is guaranteed for one year from the original dat of purchase here we have
5:22 the battery and now finally let's extract the GoPro camera unit itself
5:30 give me a minute on this one so here it is extracted it's
5:34 attached to the base via the sliding clicking mechanism that you use to
5:39 attach it to either your flat or your curved mounts here so there you go you
5:44 can throw it on one of those like that or we can go ahead
5:48 and okay it is a little tough to remove
5:51 from those once you've got it on there there we
5:56 are all right so let's have a look at the unit itself so so here we have a
6:02 button here we have the lens here we have an LCD screen here we have other
6:07 more different button here we have a latch which appears to assist us in
6:12 removing the waterproof
6:15 cover there we are oo and this is where
6:19 all the magic happens so there's your
6:23 microphone there is your USB there's your TV output there's your HD TV output
6:29 this is also your sound output if you're running HDTV all right you've got your
6:33 battery compartment on the back there there's your SD slot and oh yeah here we
6:38 go here are all the different modes so R1 is wide VGA R2 is 720p at 30 FPS R3
6:44 is 60 FPS 720p our four is 960p at 30
6:49 FPS and our five is there you go 1080p at 30 FPS so for best sound in high wind
6:54 use at less than 100 mph use the non-waterproof door so presumably that
6:59 is the one okay and for greater than 100 mph
7:04 use the waterproof door so let's go ahead and see how complicated it is to
7:09 install the battery aha very uncomplicated so we're just going to
7:13 open this up I mean step back for a minute and
7:18 check this out there's so much stuff in this package I would not have guessed
7:23 that one small package could contain so
7:26 much HD goodness
7:31 all right so let me just make sure I haven't missed anything critical here in
7:34 this video it is shock proof apparently
7:37 bombproof and waterproof okay it can
7:41 shoot handsfree excellent audio recording that
7:45 removes unnecessary noise and Ambience
7:48 okay uh the camera connectors and cables are available with PC connection and
7:52 HDTV out which we've seen already and then
7:57 finally the yeah professional quality full HD video 1080P 960p and 720p okay
8:02 so yeah so we've pretty much covered everything so we'll have a quick look at
8:06 the waterproof casing so you can replace this backing with the non-waterproof one
8:10 for better audio capture at low speeds all right and then you can also remove
8:15 this particular mounting system and you can take the whole thing ah there we are
8:21 and you can mount it to any of the other number of arms or other different arms
8:26 depending on how you want to attach
8:30 the GoPro to your vehicle or Helmet or
8:34 whatever it is you want to attach it to to take some cool 1080phd video
