welcome to my unboxing of the 1100 from antech the advanced gaming Authority is
0:14
what they have to say about this case and I'm kind of inclined to agree with
0:17
them at this point based on what I've seen about the 1100 so far maximum
0:22
expandability that is up to 330 mm long
0:26
expansion cards and for whatever reason they don't mention it but they've also
0:29
gotten nine expansion slots which is madness Okay maximum cooling so they're
0:34
showing all the different places you can install cooling fans including two here
0:38
two here two uh one big one here one here and one here okay we've got ease of
0:42
use which shows you how you can route your cables they even show braiding the
0:46
cables behind and that is because they have an inordinate amount of space
0:50
behind the motherboard tray uh so you can actually close your panel even if
0:54
you're running thick old cables like this PSU intake and front fan filters
0:58
fan connector PCB which allows you to connect four three pin fans to a single
1:02
Molex for improved Cable Management which is true 120 mil intake at the back
1:06
120 mil thermal okay yep we've covered most of this oh look that two more 120
1:10
Ms on the side this hard drive Mount I'm going to show you this is cool front
1:14
panel USB 3 and three tooless 5 and a/4 in Drive Bays which I have seen in
1:19
action already and they do actually work really well which is good I'm actually
1:23
usually not a huge fan of tooless um
1:27
unless it's like a tech station or something because
1:30
I don't know something about just putting a screw in it makes it feel more
1:35
secure and safe to me
1:38
but I guess it doesn't really matter so
1:42
let's go ahead and extract the
1:47
1100 from its box which as always is
1:51
very well packaged uh ante is pretty has been doing this a long
1:57
time so they're using a good quality Clos cell foam with about one inch of
2:00
padding on all sides which is pretty much a necessity if you want the case to
2:07
um make it in one piece we've actually had sample cases arrive uh that were not
2:13
packed with closed cell foam that looked like they had been shipped not from
2:18
California but from the depths of Hell to reach us so yeah this
2:24
one now that I've said all that is in
2:27
Immaculate condition which is good okay okay uh let's start at the front so the
2:31
1100 is actually very similar to the p280 in terms of the actual chassis
2:36
design uh but there are some key differences so we've got our three 5 and
2:40
1/4 in Bays our front headphones our front USB 2 our front USB 3 you can see
2:45
this power and reset button uh placement
2:48
has been reused from the p280 we've got tons of room for air intake so we've got
2:53
the mesh here and then these are also completely open see how I can stick my
2:57
finger through there so you're getting additional air flow through there as
3:01
well as the mesh the front pops off like
3:04
this there you go so you can see how open these are now check that out so
3:09
it's completely unrestricted air flow and now you can mount fans here and here
3:14
and check this out bumps here here here and here which allows you to install
3:19
these two fans with only four screws
3:22
which is easier and better for gamers because in my experience gamers are
3:26
nothing if not lazy no offense to the gamers
3:30
I'm sure you won't be offended though because I think you already knew that
3:34
there we go all right so let's go ahead and let's go this side first so here we
3:39
find our side panel window nice and big
3:42
I'm just going to take these Plastics off as we go we've also got room for two
3:46
rubber grommeted 120 mil fans once again
3:50
you can mount them using only four screws four of these are are just blanks
3:54
um that will hold the fan in place very very nice good thinking antech
4:00
it's those little innovations that make Gamers lives slightly slightly easier
4:06
that make them choose your product over someone else's so I'm going to take that
4:10
side panel off and we're going to go around to the other side panel actually we're going to do the back panel first
4:14
so here is a 120 mm cooling fan as well
4:18
as the io ports we've also got nine
4:21
expansion slots so yes up to XL ATX motherboards which is great if you want
4:25
to run three-way or four-way SLI ATX power supply and check this so see this
4:30
these cooling vents here that's for a good reason and I'm going to show you
4:34
why because you can actually install actually you know this is probably
4:38
easier to show from here so check this out you can install a 120 mm cooling fan
4:43
that blows directly at the back of the motherboard and then exhausts out
4:48
there now why would you want to do that
4:51
why well I will give you the reason see check this out very cool actually give
4:56
me a sec I'll go get my prop and then I'll be back all right here I have my
5:00
prop now guys I've got an x79 board and I'm going to show you why you might care
5:05
about having cooling on the back of the board check this out we have pwm
5:09
components on the back of this board because with all these dim slots there's
5:12
so little room on these x79 boards for them to put voltage regulation modules
5:17
check this out MSI board same thing heat sink on the back of the board what's
5:21
going to cool that heat sink in most cases nothing so having a little bit of
5:26
extra cooling although I probably wouldn't use it as
5:30
um an intake I would probably use it as an exhaust and just pull air from the
5:34
outside here and push it out um could be useful okay so let's keep going on the
5:38
inside of the case here accessories wise we've
5:42
got some zip ties some screws uh
5:46
toolless Drive rails which are really cool I'm going to show you these uh in a
5:49
minute actually uh but but here here's something to note about them is see how
5:53
they're bent that's on purpose so wait
5:58
uh we have a locking fan filter so you pull that out you just push it like that
6:04
now it's locked it won't come out and then you just push it down that's mostly
6:09
for shipping you just want to keep it unlocked if uh if you're actually using
6:12
the case right so you can pull that out clean it slide it back in uh it's more
6:17
convenient than the ones that are from the back of the case especially that
6:21
long one in the 800d that is kind of a pain to get out I know because I had to
6:24
do it the other weekend all right in terms of Drive mounting 1 2 3 4 5 6 3
6:29
and a half in drives here and check this out we've also got a toolless SSD Mount
6:34
this is a pressure mount so you just slide the SSD in I'm just going to grab an SSD so you just slide the SSD in and
6:40
it gets held there sorry guys here's my SSD here's that pressure mount so you
6:45
just kind of pop it in there so you can see there's some
6:49
friction you can put in a screw if you want right about there and then it will
6:53
be completely secure very cool not as cool as the 3 and 1/2 in Drive Mount
6:58
though which I am going to show you at some point ultra big CPU cutout and this
7:03
is handy because the motherboard CPU
7:07
spot socket positions keep changing so
7:10
if you have a case where they haven't built in some extra you know kind of
7:14
fudge factor for where it could be located then you might not end up being
7:18
able to access the back of the motherboard at all in which case you can't change the cooler so antech
7:23
thought of that they made the cutout as big as they possibly could and you can
7:26
see even on a new generation x79 board we have no no difficulty with that
7:30
there's that top 200 mil fan there's that um Molex to 4 3 pin fan connector
7:38
adapter dude ad so that is allowing us to easily manage the cables of these
7:42
fans right here and then we'll also actually I never showed you guys this on
7:46
the back we can also adjust the LEDs for the top fan we can turn them off or on
7:51
and then we can change fan speeds on the p280 but we can't do it on this one okay
7:56
what else we got here ah yes cable management check this out guys look how
8:02
thick that is at the back of the motherboard tray so you can put pretty
8:06
much like I don't know whatever you want back there and you can still close the
8:11
side panel because this is the border so you can put a 24 pin they show a braided
8:16
a couple braided cables coming up to the graphics cards on the on the back of the
8:20
box here are our cable management holes so you can see these are a nice uh loose
8:25
kind of rubber so you can uh put cables
8:28
through them pull them out and then it'll still be it'll still be blocked
8:31
from View and last but not least oh yeah
8:34
here eight pin full so you can run your eight pin connector up there to your the
8:38
top of your motherboard and then you've got also other miscellaneous stuff so you can bring down your front panel
8:42
connectors of which there are quite a few down this way down to the bottom of
8:46
your motherboard and then ha yes this is
8:51
probably one of the coolest things that I've seen in a while as far as hard
8:55
drive mounting goes because let's face it how interesting can hard drive mounting possibly be so we're going to
9:00
go ahead and how do this work ah yes
9:04
good put this on here okay so you just put that on you put that on there so
9:10
this isn't very cool yet right so you put this and you slide it into the case
9:15
and you guys are thinking lonus we've seen this before and I'm thinking yes
9:20
but not quite like this one okay now hard drives are worth a lot of money these days would I do this
9:31
whoa right okay now watch this I am going to protect a little bit just in
9:36
case Ah that's right once you put them on
9:41
they cannot be removed except easily like
9:47
this I know right so basically what antech has created by making this thing
9:52
bent um is a way to secure the hard
9:56
drive in a way that is very very secure from both sides you can see how much I'm
10:01
pulling on it look I'm actually bending the plastic bending the plastic even
10:04
more that's the trick so if you pull on it from the middle evenly the hard drive
10:09
cannot come out but if you remove it specifically from one side first then it
10:14
comes off easily so I thought that was neat um so thank you for checking out my
