0:07 today I'll be unboxing something so exciting and new that it doesn't even
0:12 have proper retail packaging yet this is the mushin Ventura Pro USB 3 evidently
0:19 Linus Edition and NC rules um this is a 32 gig USB 3 flash
0:27 drive with specs of the usb3 interface
0:31 fast write speeds and really fast read speeds that is a mushkin logo that is
0:36 handrawn and this is also a mushkin logo that is handdrawn here's a mushkin logo
0:40 that is not handdrawn so I will be unboxing this brand new product this is
0:45 actually this this um packaging was
0:49 created for me by uh by a guy I know at
0:53 mushkin who taped it together and uh
0:56 hand did all of this so I appreciate that very much this is a pre-production
1:00 sample so this drive should be hitting the market in the near future you can
1:03 see on this side we just see the ventur pro branding as well as the capacity on
1:07 the other side we see the mushkin logo as well as the mushkin name okay here we
1:13 find a blue coded USB 3 interface and
1:16 then at the other end you can see we have not only is it a loop for uh
1:21 attaching to a keychain or whatever else you might want to attach it to but it's
1:24 also clear and that's because there is a
1:27 an activity LED inside there that will light up now if you want to store the
1:32 cap somewhere it actually Clips on quite securely to the back there you see it
1:36 takes a little bit of force to take it off but not a ton and that's clear again
1:40 so what that means is once again you can see your activity LED even if you have
1:44 this capped off at the back so I'll show you guys some reads and WR speeds in
1:48 just a moment so this is going to be a quick test of the Ventura Pro this is
1:52 the 32 gig one I'm going to go ahead I'm going to take a 2 gig file and I'm going
1:57 to copy it from the USB disc to my SSD
2:01 hard oh no I did it wrong okay give me a sec hold on hold on just keep the camera
2:05 rolling keep the camera rolling here we go copy here so let's see how long a 2
2:09 gig file takes and I didn't time it so
2:12 we better try this again okay we'll find a more different 2 gig file hold on let
2:16 me get my stopwatch going here on my iPhone
2:19 utilities clock stopwatch there we go
2:23 okay reset here okay ready and copy here
2:28 start okay so we'll see how long the 2 gig file
2:32 takes man that's fast remember guys this
2:35 is a USB flash drive this is not an
2:39 external SSD or an external hard
2:43 drive oh that is lead 16 seconds for 2
2:46 gigs so what is that 8 seconds for a gig so that's about 120 megabytes per second
2:54 Delite okay so hold on I'm going to delete uh that same file from the USB
2:59 drive and let's go ahead and we're going to now copy it back to the USB drive
3:08 start okay rights are a little slower but still pretty freaking
3:15 fast so we're still up around the 90
3:18 megabytes per second Mark 89
3:25 991 so to do two gigs of data
3:30 took us only
3:33 20 28.7 seconds once again leite that's
3:38 a gig in 15 seconds or about 80 megabytes per second very cool so don't
