welcome to my unboxing and first look at the steel series Call of Duty Black Ops
0:12
2 gaming mouse now Black Ops 2 might have been a bit of a how you say um less
0:20
than successful Game launch considering you know the Black Ops or the Call of
0:24
Duty lineage of it however there's nothing you know not awesome about this
0:28
mouse so we're also going have a look at the Call of Duty Black Ops 2 mouse pad
0:32
which is basically one of their qc's mouse pads with Black Ops branding
0:37
on it so we'll start with that guy you can actually see already even though I
0:40
haven't unboxed it yet what it's going to look like because this is a steel
0:44
series qk Diablo I branded mouse pad so
0:48
it'll be like that except with a different picture on it a very different
0:51
picture on it a Black Ops 2 picture on
0:57
it so it comes in a package that might lead you to believe that it's a hard
1:01
mouse pad but it actually isn't it is a cloth mouse pad on a hard backing there
1:06
we go it is as I said before pretty much
1:10
the same as the other one so we can go ahead and we can add to my stack of qck
1:15
that I have going on here Black Ops 2 qck looks pretty good
1:20
right comes with a little steel series brochure about some of their other cool
1:25
products including mice keyboards headsets all kinds of great stuff steel
1:28
series sticker and that pretty much does it for that now this almost looks
1:32
perfect but if we move the steel series Sensei that I use for my test bench then
1:37
we can see what it looks like with a proper Call of Duty Black Ops 2 m so
1:40
let's have a look at what they have to say for themselves ARM yourself with a weapon design for hours of clest the
1:45
Black Ops 2 Edition Mouse Okay amb extra shape optimized for all types of gamer
1:50
grips Palm claw and swipe gaming grade switches have a lifespan of 10 million
1:56
clicks which is an awful lot of clicks although if you're some of those you
1:59
know I don't know if you're Korean or something then you may actually need
2:03
more clicks than that in the lifespan of a mouse because of you know actions per
2:06
minute and whatnot you know what that would be a great calculation I would
2:10
love for someone to run these numbers because it would be hilarious so take
2:13
the actions per minute of one of the top sort of you know Starcraft 2 players and
2:18
then figure out how long it would take them if they were playing constantly to
2:22
actually use the left click 10 million times it' be just kind of hilarious
2:27
let's find out what it would take to actually kill the switches on this mouse
2:32
to the point where they they cannot operate anymore so there we go that's
2:37
what the mouse looks like we're going to go ahead and pull that out of there
2:40
let's go ahead and see what else steel Series has to say for themselves programmable illumination options for
2:45
the scroll wheel back and CPI toggle
2:48
eight ergonomically placed buttons seven programmable buttons supported by steel
2:51
seies engine technology offering operation configuration customization
2:55
and advanced macros across steel series peripherals so the counts the frames per
2:59
second is 12,000 the counts per inch is 90 to 5,670 it's as many as you'll need
3:04
remember guys steel series uses counts per inch because they find it actually
3:08
gives a more accurate representation of how the mouse performs compared to DPI
3:12
which is dots per inch 150 Ines per second is the uh the
3:17
resolution I believe is the terminology for that guy acceleration is at up to 30
3:21
G's lift instance is approximately 2 millimeters has eight buttons now steel
3:25
Series has one of the best software configuration utilities that I have ever
3:30
seen it's right up there with guys like Logitech I mean here's the thing this is
3:34
what a lot of people don't really seem to get is that almost everyone in their
3:38
dog makes a gaming mouse it's actually not complicated I could I could get find
3:43
an oem that would make a gaming mouse for me it could be the lonus mouse guys
3:48
feel free to like the video if you think that's a great idea anyway I could do
3:51
that but the part where I'd have trouble is the software steel Series has
3:54
advanced software functionality that allows you to turn on or off things like
3:58
angle snapping things like uh correction
4:01
for slight imperfections in your movement which I turn off because in
4:05
gaming that stuff's totally useless if you're trying to make minute adjustments
4:08
to your mouse as well as things like being able to adjust the CPI to a fine
4:13
level of perfection that's exactly perfect for your style compared to other
4:18
software that's out there so for cheaper or less sort of reputable peripherals
4:24
you know what you're probably losing the value on the software that's probably
4:27
where you're getting the shaft so it won't won't happen with a steel series peripheral in fact you especially won't
4:32
see that happen with something like the Call of Duty Black Ops Mouse because as you may or may not have noticed this is
4:37
the same Mouse as the Sensei look at that it just has a Call of Duty Black
4:42
Ops graphic on it it's actually if anything I'd say it's a little bit better because it has a soft touch feel
4:47
to the top of it whereas the Sensei has kind of a hard plastic uh shiny feel to
4:51
it and I find this much more comfortable this feels a lot like my iari laser
4:55
upstairs uh on my gaming rig so if you guys don't know a lot of people have
4:58
asked me my favorite mouse ever ever ever is the aari laser from steel series
5:04
uh the Sensei has not displaced it because I am right-handed and I do like
5:08
that right-handed ergonomic shape but what a lot of Gamers like about steel
5:11
series is it is ambidextrous you can use it left-handed if you want they've even
5:15
made it ambidextrous see I've seen ambidextrous mice that are ambidextrous
5:20
in shape but then they only have thumb buttons on the one side to which I would
5:24
go well that's not very ambidextrous at all because then left-handed players
5:27
have no thumb buttons but steel series goes as far with the Sensei as to put
5:31
two thumb buttons on either side both of which are completely programmable you
5:35
also have a CPI switcher on the top this guy right here I believe can also be
5:38
programmed to do other things although correct me if I'm wrong on that one guys
5:42
but this light turns on and off depending on which CPI profile you're
5:45
using see I can demo that uh you can also change the lighting here here and
5:49
on the back of the mouse which we might as well plug in and see what it looks
5:52
like by default go ahead and plug this
5:55
bad boy into the USB port see what happen ah looking good so
6:00
you can change the color of that illuminated two there see that's what it
6:04
looks like with it off actually that looks really cool that's very stealthy the way that they've implemented that so
6:08
it comes orange by default and gaming grade laser ah yes this is another thing
6:13
pet peeve for mice and you know what I've seen even
6:17
like even fairly reputable guys do this a mouse sensor is not all about how many
6:22
dots per inch or counts per inch or acceleration blah blah blah blah blah
6:26
all those specs in the world mean absolutely nothing until you plug it
6:30
into a system and actually run a game on it um honestly I was really excited
6:34
about the Logitech g600 super excited I
6:37
was like so excited I was like this is the perfect Mouse it's ergonomically shaped it has awesome like buttons and
6:42
stuff and then I plugged it into my computer and this it feels laggy how am
6:46
I supposed to use it I've never encountered that with a steel series
6:49
Mouse whether it's AK kinzu Zai Sensei
6:52
iari laser or I mean probably this one
6:55
given it's the same exact thing as this never encountered that before so the
6:59
quality of the Optics they're using in here the actual lasers and the sensors
7:04
and the processors and everything that they're doing has always been very
7:07
consistent for me so there I Ando Ando o
7:11
Ando steel series Mo thank you for watching and don't forget to subscribe
