0:07 welcome to my unboxing and first look at a very exciting projector from Ben Q so
0:12 there's some shipping labels there's some stuff going on here they don't say
0:16 a whole lot other than that this is a 1080p projector and the other really
0:22 cool thing about it isn't even on here so this is the
0:25 w1070 and I wonder if when we open it up
0:28 we will find out what is so interesting and awesome and cool about this
0:33 projector so I know I don't normally talk about pricing but I should start
0:37 with a one interesting point and that is that this projector is aimed to be
0:41 priced around 1,000 bucks so 1080p
0:44 projector th000 bucks sounds pretty good sounds interesting right okay things are
0:50 about to get a lot more interesting and
0:53 if you guys have already read the description of the video then I guess the suspense isn't really ouch doing
0:59 anything for you this is a 1080p 3D
1:03 projector I'm going let that sink in for a minute 1080p 3D projector so it is
1:10 fully compatible with 1080p Blu-rays at 24 FPS it is also compatible with a new
1:16 standard called NVIDIA 3D TV play and
1:19 what that does here's our remote here's some baggies I can see this was a
1:24 resealed unit this is an eval unit so comes with like a Euro Asian power cord
1:30 here so I'll go ahead and put that in there comes with a VGA cable of all
1:34 things come on Ben Q should come with an HDMI cable especially because this
1:38 projector has multiple HDMI inputs so
1:42 right Blu-ray movies also compatible with games so
1:47 NVIDIA has an extra driver that you can buy as an add-on that makes this thing
1:52 fully capable of supporting their 3D Vision capable game titles so let's take
1:58 a close look at the projector itself so
2:01 let's start with the remote the remote's fairly straightforward Affair this is
2:05 pretty much what you'd come to expect so it's got your power your menu navigation
2:09 your Source selection your smar Eco Smart Eco is cool because it does a few
2:13 different things to help you save power and help you keep your bulb life lasting
2:17 longer so when the there is no Source detected it'll automatically turn it on
2:21 which is very very cool it also allows you to automatically save power with
2:26 certain cool features like when you pause the movie it'll just turn it
2:29 yourself on and you can save about 70% of your bulb power which is very very
2:33 neat digital Zoom brightness contrast color tint 3D settings 3D invert test
2:38 freeze mute okay various stuff like that
2:41 now the projector itself so here is the lens cover which you're going to want to
2:44 go ahead and put like that it has active cooling like most DP projectors do
2:48 there's your infrared receiver for the remote and then this guy right here is
2:53 just your little adjust guy so it's going to have Auto Keystone which means
2:56 that even if you're pointing it up at an angle to your wall you don't have to
2:59 worry about it ending up with you know a trap or a yeah I think trapezoid shaped
3:05 image or anything like that you just go ahead and adjust it to whatever angle
3:09 you want it at more ventilation holes here on the side it actually kind of
3:13 looks like an Alienware computer on the side with these uh with this pattern
3:16 here and then on the other side more ventilation there as well on the back we
3:21 find a whole bunch of different input so we've got audio in and out it does have
3:26 built-in speakers but as you've come to expect from projector speakers they're
3:29 nothing special it has um component in it has your your
3:34 standard RCA in it's got S Video in VGA
3:39 seral as well as a 12volt trigger mini
3:43 USB and two HDMI ports AC power in is
3:46 here and your Kensington lock is here overall build quality feels pretty good
3:50 for like a what is you know a fairly low price point projector in spite of the
3:55 very cool features it has oh yeah it's got one other thing here so you can adjust the uh the way the project ctor
4:00 sits with this foot here as well as this
4:03 one right here this one is fixed though so you do all of your adjustments just
4:07 like that to make sure the image is level and all that good stuff here we
4:11 have a couple of different things so number one is your focus there's your focus wheel right there number two is
4:16 your Zoom so you can zoom the image a little bit number three check that out
4:20 lens shift considering that this is a again a th000 projector lens shift is a
4:26 pretty cool thing to see so that allows you to actually not just sort of adjust
4:31 the angles like this and point it up and down but it allows you to use the Optics
4:36 built into the projector to actually move the image up and down that's
4:40 high-end Optics stuff considering again the price point that we're seeing all
4:44 your menu navigation buttons that were on the remote are duplicated here as
4:47 well as your power button now this is kind of interesting because they've
4:51 covered this up for some reason but uh this is one of the main selling points
4:55 of the monitor is the 3D gaming support
4:58 so give me a second get this
5:02 off so presumably there must be a reason that that's covered up but I'm it's kind
5:07 of a shame it says NVIDIA 3D Vision ready on that sticker but maybe what
5:10 they mean is NVIDIA's 3D TV play so
5:14 again that's with that other driver and it supports a lot of different 3D modes
5:17 so whether it's from a Blu-ray player or whether it's from a graphics card you
5:20 can do 720p 60 HZ in 3D over HDMI you
5:24 can actually use some of the other connectors for 3D including VGA but you
5:28 won't get the same kind of resolution the same kind of quality as you with HDMI and given that HDMI cables cost
5:33 nothing these days and basically use HDMI um and then at 10 ADP you get up to
5:38 24 FPS and
5:42 uh oh yeah I should explain a little bit more about the Eco modes that it
5:45 includes so not only does it dim the light when you're not doing anything or
5:50 when the image isn't moving it seems like it's paused or whatever else but it also is able to dim the lights in darken
5:55 scenes which will actually give you some of that better 10,000 to1 contrast ratio
5:58 that it boasts as well as saving you power and the 2,000 Lumen brightness
6:03 actually allows it to project up to a 200 inch image which would be bigger
6:07 than the white screen behind me no problem so I'm going to try this guy out
6:12 as soon as I get a chance using either the included 3D glasses or well using
6:18 the included 3D glasses and the NVIDIA driver which is available as a 14-day
6:22 trial I will let you guys know how it goes I'm not expecting gaming to be the
6:26 best experience in the world at 24 FPS but I'm really excited to try it out
6:31 with a 3D movie at 1080P and then see
6:34 how the 720p 60fps gaming experience
6:38 goes because this could be the most
6:41 versatile projector that you can buy for
6:45 around 1,000 bucks now and I might be holding it in my hands I'm very excited
6:48 about it so the glasses are available as an add-on they're not actually that
6:52 expensive uh these are active shutter glasses and they're powered by batteries
6:55 which go around here okay they come with
6:59 batteries you just ripped those out thank you for checking out my unboxing
7:02 and first look at the w710 from Ben q and I hope you guys are as excited as me
7:07 about how this thing performs in 3D
