Welcome to our Titan test bench this is for the ultimate NVIDIA GeForce single
0:13
GPU card we can't show you any benchmarks yet as of the time of
0:16
releasing this video but we can show you how we intend to get them so we're going
0:19
to test it in a number of different ways against a number of different cards
0:23
let's start with the contenders so there's the GeForce Titan this is the
0:27
king of the NVIDIA gpus it is a GK
0:32
110 the same card as you'll find in a
0:35
super computer basically the fastest super computer in the world at the oakd
0:39
National Lab we've got it up against a 7970 we've got it up against the
0:44
previous King of the castle for uh
0:48
Kepler cards the GTX 680 we've got it up
0:51
against a 660 Ti just for a more realistic card we're going to be running
0:55
two of these in SLI though to show you what that kind of a configuration would
0:59
be able to do against a Titanic opponent like a Titan and if we wanted to throw a
1:04
god into the mix then there's the Aries 2 which is two 7970 GHz Edition gpus
1:10
that is a custom card from a seus with a liquid cooler on it so let's see how
1:13
that compares to the Titan so we got to tested a number of different ways more
1:17
importantly than almost anything else with the Titan is the fact that it not
1:21
only performs better than previous generation products but does so quietly
1:26
and with thermals that can accommodate even small form factor systems like this
1:30
19.2 L case right here so Titan it's
1:35
very important to get a good idea of what the Acoustics are like both on an
1:38
Open Bench as well as in a case so we're going to be installing it in that tiny
1:42
computer and finding out how that runs for you guys we are also going to be
1:46
taking readings using our red mic on the open test bench so this is at a 12in
1:51
distance from the center of the Fan Hub we're going to be giving you guys
1:54
readings of all the different cards here uh we are using our LGA 2011 test bench
1:59
so that's 16 G of memory 3960x overclock
2:02
to 4 GHz on a P9 x79 Deluxe running on a
2:06
Vertex 4 SSD for the boot drive so this is pretty representative of what an
2:11
Enthusiast would be running on their system powered by a ZX 1250 wat power
2:15
supply speaking of power supplies we have a UPS running down here with a
2:20
wattage meter so that we can take power readings and tell you guys how these
2:24
cards compare to each other so we're just going to cycle through these here
2:27
show you how that works there you go so it's not nothing's running right now but
2:31
we had to mod this UPS because the stock
2:35
fan is quite loud so we installed a switch on the side that is run in line
2:41
with the fan so that we can actually turn it off when we're taking our acoustic readings so this does a couple
2:46
of things it makes it so that the room is quite quiet for Acoustics and it
2:51
evens out the input voltage to this guy right here which gives us much more
2:55
consistent wattage readings aha monitor
2:59
configurations so we want to test it in 3D in surround
3:03
as well as on a single large format panel this is because the Titan has six
3:08
gigs of GPU memory that is on one GPU
3:12
this is the largest by far single single
3:16
core consumer graphics card in terms of the frame buffer so we're going to run
3:19
it in 3D at 1080p at regular 1080p we're
3:24
going to run it at 2560 x600 on a 30-in
3:27
monitor and you can see here we have have 3 24in 1920x 1200 monitors we are
3:33
going to test the Titan versus the Aries 2 in threeway surround to give you guys
3:39
some idea how dual 7970 GHz editions
3:43
would stack up against a single Titan remember a single Titan is only one GPU
3:48
so you don't have to rely on any SLI or Crossfire driver optimizations it's just
3:54
going to work uh oh ambient temperatures will be monitored using our HH 506 ra
4:00
multi logger thermometer to make sure that we are giving you guys an accurate
4:04
idea of how each of these gpus is going to perform in terms of temperatures and
4:09
I think that pretty much wraps it
4:15
up y enjoy our Titan coverage when it
4:19
comes don't forget to subscribe to L Tech tips for more unboxings reviews and
4:22
other computer videos and I have no idea what Slick's talking about
