0:00 this video is brought to you by the Intel Core i5 4670k unlocked processor
0:05 add an Intel 520 series SSD to your Haswell system for unbelievable overall
0:10 performance welcome to a dual unboxing
0:13 of a couple of different products I've got the mod matte main board and the mod
0:17 matte extreme which are both from Mod right these are PC Building gears so to
0:24 speak and what they are designed to be is a static safe
0:28 Workstation covering that is portable is
0:33 scratch resistant so it's not going to damage you know your side panel window
0:37 or high gloss finish on your graphics card or anything like that as well as
0:42 provide you with some useful information that you might need to reference while
0:46 you're in the building process Inside the Box you find not only
0:52 the modmat so there's the modmat main board and here's the modmat extrem but
0:58 also an anti-static wrist strap and an
1:01 antistatic alligator clip so let's get the unwrapping process documented here
1:06 it comes with a plastic over layer with
1:09 a paper under layer and then
1:16 finally there we have it ah the mod mat itself so this is the
1:22 motherboard version or main board version which H is smaller but still has
1:28 many of the same advantages that is to say that it's antistatic so check this
1:31 out so the idea is you take this and you
1:34 ground out your modmat to something uh
1:38 you know such as a plugged in but not powered on power supply or something in
1:43 a ground Outlet in your wall or whatever else the case may be that makes sure
1:46 that this is completely anti-static and then now that we've got it spread out we
1:51 can see where those two pieces clip onto so you can tie your antistatic wrist
1:55 strap here and then you can ground out the mod matat Itself by using the allig
2:00 al alligator clip to plug into whether
2:03 it's you know a ground Outlet on your wall outlet or something like a power a
2:07 plugged in but not powered on power supply or whatever else the case may be
2:12 here this is cool so check this out I've got a motherboard handy which is why I
2:15 have a motherboard here so this right here is to show you what size your
2:19 motherboard is if you weren't sure so ATX is going to be presumably I don't
2:26 know presumably it goes here yes
2:32 so that is an ATX board so you can see
2:35 that an eatx board would go all the way to here an hptx board so things like the
2:41 SRX from EVGA would go all the way to here so if you were ever not quite sure
2:45 you'd be able to quickly check and reference what size your board is so
2:49 there's another convenient measurement here that tells you pretty much the same
2:52 thing if you have any confusion about the ports on your motherboard you can
2:56 also check this handy dandy reference chart here which tells you pretty much
3:00 what all of this stuff is so there you go that matches up to that so the main
3:04 board one isn't the one that has sort of the more
3:08 advanced features and charts and graphs
3:12 that is saved for the extreme model now
3:16 we have the modm extrem spread out in front of us and you can see that there's
3:20 an awful lot of room to work you can have a motherboard here your case here
3:24 all your random accessories spread out and it has a lot of way way super more
3:31 useful stuff on it so for example you can quickly and easily find out what
3:36 size a radiator is and check the spacing so there I can see okay da da da da da
3:41 there you go that is a dual 120 mm radiator and then you've got your 140s
3:45 on the side it measures everything up to a quad rad very cool stuff you can
3:49 quickly and easily I mean okay so some of this stuff won't be useful to someone
3:52 like me I know what how big a radiator is just looking at it so you've got
3:56 other things that again wouldn't be that useful to me cuz I know how big a 3 and
4:00 1/2 in hard drive is versus a 2 and2 inch hard drive you can see I mean it
4:04 makes for just cool schematics on it if nothing else but this is a cool one
4:08 being able to quickly reference how big a fan is so there you go you've got
4:12 marks on here that show you this is a
4:15 140 mm if you line it up there and it lines up with all the other ones you got
4:18 a 140 mil fan on your hands if it lines up here and goes to all these other ones
4:23 you got a 120 mil fan on your hands not everyone can identify fans just looking
4:27 at them without another one for reference so that's really nice nice to
4:30 have um next up we've got tubing sizes
4:34 so this allows you to take a piece of tubing and basically go yeah there
4:38 that's 5/8 in od that is 38 in ID which
4:43 means that it there that one see I had it on the wrong one and you could tell
4:47 it wasn't quite lining up so you can see from how big the hole is and how thick
4:50 the wall is that is what size that is you can make sure it's compatible with
4:53 your compressions and you can see they've got a little chart here for that as well now this is the one that I
4:58 really like this is the kind of thing that I would actually have to reference
5:02 on an ongoing basis and that is wiring diagrams if you do any cable sleeving or
5:06 anything like that these could save your life cuz they tell you exactly what the
5:12 voltages are of all the pins they give you all the color coding and so if you
5:16 do any custom wiring on your own that could actually be uh maybe not a
5:21 lifesaver but definitely a component saver because you might not break
5:24 something that you otherwise would have broken for your reference they also show
5:28 you all the latest sockets from Intel and AMD in little diagrams so you can
5:31 make sure you don't screw up anything on that side so you can see quite clearly
5:35 that this one right here
5:38 is LGA 1155 or 1156 actually it's LGA
5:42 1150 but they had no way of knowing that when they manufactured this thing in all
5:46 likelihood so it's a grippy anti-static
5:49 workplace has some cool little references looks really good and the
5:53 extreme has more mounting points for your anti-static wrist strap as well as
5:58 your grounding strap so there's one over here on the far right and then there's
6:01 one over here up by the top thank you for checking out my unboxing and first
6:05 look at the modmat main board and the modmat extreme don't forget to subscribe
