0:07 welcome to my unboxing and first look at the shuttle omn naaz which is your own
0:12 private Cloud it gives you Mobility it's cool it's stylish dual core and ease of
0:18 use this is not a this is a grammatical
0:21 anomaly because these should all be these should all be kind of the same
0:24 thing so it should say mobile cool
0:27 stylish powerful and easy use or it
0:30 should say um Mobility coolness style
0:36 stylishness I don't know whatever okay don't worry about it this is the kd20
0:40 it's a 2bay Nas that supports single or dual 3 and a half inch hard drives up to
0:43 a total of 8 terabytes and Beyond raid zero raid 1 jbot and single hard drive
0:47 modes are um available performance is
0:51 75/55 megabytes reads and writes remote access from iPhone iPad and Android
0:55 devices it has a media server a print server and an iTunes server autoc copy
0:59 feature for USB card reader that's handy actually Bluetooth downloads without a
1:03 PC no way it has Bluetooth on it oh I didn't know that okay cool Omni touch
1:08 hot swap button connectors One USB 3 2 USB 2 an SD card reader and let's open
1:14 this bad boy up so what do they mean by your own private Cloud well they mean
1:18 that through the apps that are in that are well not included obviously you
1:21 can't include an app but you could make it available on the App Store and on
1:25 Google Play So through the apps that are
1:29 available for the device you can access your files and your pictures and your
1:34 music and all that kind of cool stuff on the goat much like you could if you
1:37 started in the cloud however instead of relying on a payper use cloud service or
1:43 um you know something where you have to upload all your files to someone else
1:46 who you don't know and don't necessarily trust you can build your own cloud for
1:50 the cost of an omn and a couple of hard drives here are your hard drive mounting
1:54 screws here is your gigabit Ethernet cable here is your power connect Conor
2:00 and here is the cord that goes with it see it plugs into there I'm going to do
2:05 it I'm going to do it wait for it I'm G
2:08 to try to do it
2:13 and boom just like that okay they also
2:17 include a quick start guide user manual and omn finder utility these can be
2:21 handy these finder utilities cuz sometimes stuff just doesn't show up
2:24 until you use the finder utility like it's so stupid my NETGEAR switch I have
2:28 a Smart Switch could not find it without the finder utility now the finder
2:32 utility doesn't even work good thing I configured it already all right quick
2:36 start guide shows you how to quickly get started installation of drives uh is as
2:42 simple as screwing in a drive and sliding in the whole thing but we'll
2:45 show you that once we open it up uh power button yeah okay this is all stuff
2:49 we should be able to figure out relatively easily plug the thing into the thing and the things into the other
2:53 things okay powering on the system press the power button to power it on these
2:57 are like instructions for my mom which is good good although you know what I
3:01 really still don't think she could handle it and I hope my mom's not watching this video because she thinks
3:06 she's techsavvy
3:09 all right so there's the power button
3:12 you can tell from that symbol my mom still can't figure that out to give you
3:15 some idea she'll be like oh the power button is not labeled I'm like ma that
3:19 that symbol that means power on everything um usb3 I I do I love my
3:25 mother I really do she just she can't do
3:28 that uh SD card reader there's your USB
3:32 indicator your hard drive activity indicators for hard drives one and two
3:36 the push here is clearly labeled although you know what she could
3:40 probably figure that out okay um and
3:43 then you can easily pull out the trays where you can screw in the hard drives
3:46 very very easily I'd use these ones right here um not compatible 2 and 1
3:51 half in drives although most people aren't using those for storage at this point in time you can see the S
3:55 interface at the back you can also see everything's sort of well perforated so
3:59 you should didn't have any trouble with ventilation in here however I would like
4:03 to there you go pretty straightforward I would like to check out aha we have a 60
4:07 mil cooling fan in the back so that'll take care of keeping things cool DC in
4:11 Kensington lot gigabit Ethernet 2 USB 2.0 ports more vents down here and
4:16 something that I haven't brought up yet and that is the very gorgeous
4:21 aluminum check that out thick anodized aluminum piece that goes all the way
4:26 from the bottom to the top to the or rather to the side and then to the top
4:30 and looks just outstanding so this will look great next to you on your desk or
4:35 under your desk it'll be durable or whatever else you need to do with it and
4:40 yeah love those nice little touches because it just sets it apart from all
4:44 the cheap plastic Nas boxes that are out
4:47 there because it's made of aluminum it's also very cold very soothing so I think
4:52 that pretty much covers it this isn't rocket science it's a Nas it's a 2bay
4:56 Nas it's not unreasonably expensive there's apps that go along with it thank
5:00 you for checking out my unboxing and first look at the omn from shuttle don't
