0:07 welcome to my MSI interceptor series
0:11 ravager unboxing this is a case from MSI which is something that you might not be
0:15 accustomed to seeing more along the lines of like motherboards and graphics
0:18 cards and like even networking gear and stuff like that but never cases before
0:23 so we see a few different features outlined on the front of the case one is
0:26 super speed usb 3.0 tool-less drive bay design solid-state drive support
0:30 three-year warranty advanced thermal design custom lacerated imprints so
0:35 that's kind of like a cool like claw like effect going on over here
0:39 protecting your vital gear i don't know about you guys but when it comes to my
0:43 vital gear i would not put it anywhere near something called a ravager
0:47 just throwing that out there however i'm pretty sure what they mean is
0:51 computer gear which is probably fine okay moving right along custom lacerated
0:56 imprint and advanced thermal design includes two high quality fans cable
1:00 camouflage systems so cable routing okay removable three and a half inch
1:04 drive big cages full-size vga card support up to 310 millimeters screw-less
1:07 easy snapping hard drive tray okay two the out supports two and a half
1:12 inch as well tool is five and a quarter water cooling ready although this is
1:15 very debatable i personally don't believe these grommets make it water cooling ready i'd rather see spacing for
1:19 a natively mounted radiator extra spacing for cable management and
1:23 pre-installed with 120 millimeter front blue led fan with dust filter
1:29 let's go ahead and open this bad boy up shall we
1:33 got my knife
1:38 all right breaking some seals because that's what we do
1:46 and hey soft foam as you guys may or may not know if
1:51 you've been watching my channel for a little while i prefer
1:55 soft foam to hard foam because it stands
1:58 up against multiple impacts better than heart foam this is however quite thin
2:02 soft foam in some places considering the
2:06 size and weight of a fully loaded system but
2:10 i guess i'm gonna have to compromise on this particular one
2:16 all right there we have the raptor actually it looks not bad
2:21 this looks better in person than it does in pictures i mean the ouch shocked me
2:25 and i mean the uh the laceration like tattoo thing that they got going on here
2:29 so this is a fairly high quality paint that they're using it's not something
2:32 that's just like a sticker that's gonna come off this is painted right on it
2:36 looks actually looks kind of nice and it matches the overall color scheme of the
2:40 case so you can see the internals are using MSI branded fans as well as
2:46 blue pci slot covers a blue motherboard back
2:50 plate as well as more tattoos over here
2:53 on the other side and they got an interceptor series ravager this one
2:57 looks like it's a sticker but it's no no it's not it's not that's actually painted right on there that looks really
3:01 sharp uh we've got support for actually you know what no let's finish with the
3:05 tattoos and then we'll then move on okay so last set of tattoos right here three
3:10 five and a quarter inch base big old power button as well as an led at the
3:15 front we've got our intakes here at the front as well
3:18 and let's move around to the rest of the outside so front usb 2.0 headphone
3:22 microphone front usb 3.0 reset switch and hard drive indicator led we've got
3:28 more fan girls up here we're going to open it up to find out exactly what's
3:31 inside there on this side we've got support for up to two 140 millimeter
3:35 fans although this spacing is also compatible with two 120
3:39 millimeter fans on the back we find another 120
3:43 millimeter fan or 92 millimeter fan whichever you prefer and seven pci slots
3:48 so this is going to fit standard atx boards or micro atx boards or mini itx
3:52 boards but not xl atx boards two filtered intakes on the bottom one of
3:57 these is for your power supply one of these is for an additional 120
4:00 millimeter fan now let's go ahead and use the thumb screws here to open up the
4:05 case oh look at that they're not too tight from the factory a lot of the time
4:08 these thumb screws are so tight at the factory that i can't get them off with
4:12 my fingers and i have to actually use a screwdriver heaven forbid
4:16 i need a screwdriver in this day and age
4:19 everything should be toolless actually no i'm not much of that i'm not much of
4:22 a tool-less guy myself i prefer things that are securely mounted to
4:27 things that are tool-less although if you can securely mount something tool-lessly that's pretty good too not
4:31 too much flex on the panel although this isn't exactly a premium case by any
4:34 stretch of the imagination and the price tag would dictate that it's that it's not i
4:39 mean when i say premium case i mean like it's
4:42 not you know 300 case like a Corsair 800d where my expectation would be that
4:48 it's you know built out of tank armor but
4:51 um yeah moving on
4:55 oops that filter came off let's go ahead and throw that filter back in there so
4:59 these filters are basically just mounted with little uh little clips actually
5:03 here you can have a look so they're mounted with little clips they're
5:07 effective if not the most you know elegant possible solution but they're
5:10 easy to clean uh not made of metal so they're not going to like rust or
5:14 anything after you clean them i've actually run into that very recently that's why i brought it up
5:19 i was like not impressed um so here we are on the inside okay so
5:23 here's our uh hard drive sled so you can see the two and a half inch mounting holes as
5:27 well as the three and a half inch mounting holes so the three and a half inch are tool-less however you will need
5:31 tools for two and a half inch drives you can also see that these are completely
5:35 removable oops i put that in there there we go these are completely removable and
5:39 also tool-less check that out so not only could you mount a 310 millimeter
5:43 graphics card you could mount like a 400 plus millimeter graphics card and this
5:48 also gives you a way to install an additional 120 millimeter fan without
5:52 too much musk or fuss so you can see there's one installed right there that's
5:55 a blue led fan can you see that he says so so okay well it's in there
6:00 you'll have to trust me on this one and then there's another blue and black 120
6:04 millimeter fan at the back of the case this one with MSI branding so this guy
6:09 doesn't come out this one's riveted in however you'll probably need at least a
6:12 few hard drives at any rate so this is your optical drive mounting basically
6:16 you just how does this work push
6:21 oh cool there you go so they pop out or they pop in
6:25 good stuff what else is there to really say here
6:28 let's have a look at the internal connectors so nothing really out of the ordinary
6:32 here we've got power as well as usb 3 usb 2 and front hd
6:38 audio we've got your usual internal connectors for you know your power
6:42 switch your reset switch and your various leds that you're going to need
6:46 i'd prefer if these were black but it's not the end of the world because you do
6:49 have space for managing your cables so everything from your power supply is
6:52 going to come through this one and you'll be running them out here here and
6:56 here is where your eight pin or uh yeah here too you could potentially put an
7:00 eight pin through there and route that to your motherboard depending on the positioning of the eight pin you can
7:05 also route a bunch of stuff up through here at the top let's have a look at the
7:08 spacing in the top here so you can do up to two 140 millimeter fans or two 120
7:14 millimeter fans i would have preferred to see just straight 2 by 120 with
7:18 support for a radiator but it's not the end of the world one way or the other i
7:22 didn't actually mention at any point during this video that this is a bottom mounted power supply you've got rubber
7:27 mounts right here so it's not going to scratch itself out on the bottom of the
7:30 case and in terms of room for routing cables
7:34 behind actually that's not bad so we've got enough room back here to easily do a
7:38 24 pin cable without warping out the other side of the case from the back it
7:43 doesn't really look like there's anything in particular going on
7:47 i think that pretty much covers it other than checking out what's in here so
7:50 hopefully there's like some oh look at the bag
7:54 MSI customer survival pack i guarantee i
7:58 know who at MSI came up with that idea and i know he's gonna watch this video
8:02 i'm looking at you your initials are rk
8:06 and that is hilarious okay um
8:12 i also know who's responsible for these dog tags
8:16 oh that's cool okay so it comes with some black zip ties happy to see long
8:20 zip ties because how many times have you seen cases that come with those little
8:23 short zip ties like this that actually like aren't big enough to hold anything
8:26 so these are handy uh you've also got ah yes they've built in lots of space to
8:31 use them so these help a lot when you're routing cables having all these little
8:35 loops on the back of the motherboard tray allows you to keep everything flat
8:38 and keep everything cabled really tightly whether it's data cables that
8:41 you're running down here or power cables that you're running up to various places
8:45 so that is what those included zip ties are for we also have
8:53 oh neat okay these are handy we also have a phillips head to
8:57 motherboard standoff adapter so you put the motherboard stand off on this side
9:01 and you screw it in with a phillips head to screw it into the back of the motherboard tray got a bunch of look at
9:06 that nice little touches black screws love to see that
9:09 very nice and it comes with a dog tag
9:13 MSI insist on the best that's actually quite nice it's very thick
9:17 cool i'll put that with my other dog
9:23 although this one is customized see this one's from NVIDIA
9:27 gtx 590 squadron so now i have MSI insist on the best to go with that
9:31 although the MSI one feels like higher quality this one's kind of cheesy
9:35 so thank you for checking out my unboxing and first look at the
