0:00 today we're going to be having a look at the x- Raider 7.1 from azente this is
0:05 one of their lower end cards but it does still have some key features first of
0:09 all you've got support for 7.1 audio so
0:12 that means you can hook it up to basically any audio system that you can
0:16 get your hands on for a PC I don't know that there are too many people running
0:20 you know 9.1 or 7.2 audio systems on
0:24 their computers but I mean hey if you're doing that then feel free to uh drop as
0:30 a comment on the video and you know let me know hey lonus you're off your rocker
0:33 you have no idea what you're talking about I'm running that so this is a PCI
0:37 sound card as I mentioned before you got support for 7.1 audio but there's also
0:41 some other cool stuff first of all you've got support for optical input and
0:45 output which is something that it has over its uh little
0:50 brother the X Studio
0:53 5.1 and you've also got swappable opamp
0:57 sockets for all
1:00 um all eight channels so that's a pretty
1:03 cool feature as well we'll have a closer look at the card in just a minute I just want to have a look at the accessory
1:08 package so they've got an easy setup guide uh shows you how to install your
1:12 drivers and um yeah hey look at that
1:16 they've even got instructions for downloading the drivers off the azente
1:19 website good work azente that is the correct thing to
1:23 do what else do we have in here we have a driver CD okay so you probably won't
1:28 need that because you can download the drivers off the manufacturer website so
1:33 that's it that's the whole accessory package other than that we've just got a
1:37 card now aen tech cards as I mentioned
1:40 in my last unboxing of an azen card are generally speaking uh the best purchased
1:45 choice to make uh in your price range whatever your price range happens to be
1:49 so figure out your price range how much do you want to spend on a sound card and
1:53 if you just buy an azente card for however much that is then you'll probably get pretty much the best card
1:58 for your dollar so here we are we've got internal
2:01 digital audio out this is running off of
2:05 the oh can't see that huh what chipset is that let me
2:12 have a look well apparently it's using an X Gear 3 audio engine okay whatever
2:17 that means and we're actually running a
2:20 c media CMI 8768 audio processor I think
2:24 it's just labeled a little bit differently oh no it's not never mind I was just uh apparently I went crazy for
2:29 a minut I couldn't see the I couldn't see that right there okay never mind I
2:32 figured it out so here's all your swappable op-amp sockets you can go
2:36 ahead take those out these will basic I mean amplification is what gives you
2:40 most of the Distortion in your audio so if you replace them with a higher
2:44 quality op amp or if you replace them with one that just sounds a little bit
2:48 better to you you can actually get a very customizable sound out of a fairly
2:54 inexpensive card with that particular feature so that's pretty cool you've
2:58 also got support for front panel audio so there's no custom headers or anything
3:02 like that you just hook that right up to your front panel HD audio so here we are
3:07 here is our digital uh Optical in and out and then our 7.1 interface so thank
3:13 you for checking out my unboxing of the x- raater 7.1 PCI sound
3:19 card oh yeah oh never mind hold on apparently it has some unique karaoke
3:24 functionality cool you can add color with mic Echo key shifting and vocal
3:29 cancellation that's a pretty neat software feature don't forget to
