0:00 and I shouldn't say point because in Europe they use a
0:04 comma so we're going to go ahead and open this bad boy I think I gave away
0:08 the secret but this is the couch master
0:11 and the couchmaster is intended to be
0:14 the ultimate gaming station designed to
0:19 be used on your couch by Masters uh right here is a usb3 5 m
0:26 active extension cable repeater that's actually the awesomest thing ever
0:30 especially cuz it's USB 3 which means that you can plug this into a hub and
0:34 you'll have full speed with no signal degradation at like 5 m which for you
0:40 Yanks out there is 15 ft um which is
0:44 freaking awesome it's a big old thick cable that's like that's worth the value
0:49 of like um at least a few dollars right there I wonder if that was on their
0:53 itemized list all right so we got the
0:57 orange one there's a bunch of different colors red uh whatever that is black blue green
1:02 yellow orange purple and they
1:07 say San don't cut so I don't know what
1:10 accent that was but I was trying really hard to make it a good one and we're
1:14 going to go ahead and cut but we're just going to be really careful about the way
1:18 that we cut the tape all right find out what's inside
1:23 here this is why they don't want you to just kind of dig in there with the knife
1:26 because that is the couch Master itself
1:31 right there so we're going to again be very very careful with our knife just
1:35 cutting the packing tape and not going any deeper than that and it looks like
1:40 it comes in a sort of wide variety of
1:44 different pieces here all of which are
1:47 helpfully um valued at a particular
1:51 value and I'm running out of things to say about it so why don't I explain a
1:54 little bit about what You' want to use this for so if you are the ultimate
1:58 anticon gamer and you insist on using a PC
2:04 whether it's for your sort of big screen what is it called big screen valves
2:08 thing big screen big box I don't know big
2:12 something big gaming big picture that's the one big picture gaming experience
2:17 whether you want to use it with those optimized games with a controller or
2:20 whether you actually want to sit on your couch with a mouse and keyboard and play
2:27 hardcore PC titles um
2:30 this will pretty much allow you to do it so guys I'm not going to take away any
2:35 of the unpacking experience from this video I want you to experience the whole
2:39 thing because from what I can see so far
2:42 it is going to be quite a treat to uh to
2:46 reveal sort of every look at that they include two active extension cables they
2:51 want you to have the true pure PC gaming
2:54 experience where you do not as a PC
2:57 Gamer have to use a hub you are are going to use a dedicated Dam cable for
3:01 your mouse and a dedicated Dam cable for your keyboard and that is the way it's
3:05 going to be and Slick point three no
3:09 this is something else oh they include a hub too they include a four-port USB 3
3:14 Hub okay so at your desk you will have I
3:20 mean this is just ludicrous so you'll have a hub and you'll have two full 5
3:25 gabit per second connections all right
3:29 so this right here is a little pocket for uh putting hanging your mouse in I
3:33 believe it's also used for cable management or something like that although I'll have to double check what
3:37 exactly they want that pocket to be used for they also include an ample supply of
3:42 velcro tape so this is like a double-sided uh tape velcro thing so you
3:47 can go ahead and uh get everything all stuck together real good they've got a
3:52 bunch of cushions so these are uh uh wrist cushions that you can go ahead and
3:56 position wherever you want you can stick them down however you want you got got a
3:59 few of those and these right here are the main cushions themselves so we're
4:04 obviously not going to be able to finish this video here since I clearly don't
4:08 have an adequate couch but basically the couch Master sits on either side of you
4:14 with a table that goes across the entire top these are soft like these are sule
4:18 cushions check this out let's see if he hits me
4:23 back no he's not going to do it he's not going to do it okay so uh here I
4:28 actually have no idea where my switcher is between the two cameras but I'll let
4:32 I'll let Diesel have some fun with his camera for a change here well I show you
4:36 guys the uh the surface itself that
4:40 actually here we go oh okay so there's
4:43 some cable management compartment action going on down there so this thing's
4:47 freaking awesome this is like a Geeks wet dream here so it's got ah here
4:53 whoops okay I popped that out but there's Cable Management holes that come
4:58 through the top there's actually four of them them and then you can go ahead and
5:01 either leave them in or take them out then you've got these little SP okay
5:05 well that's not staying in for me there but let's go ahead and sort of is there
5:09 like is there like an angle that it goes in at yeah there that's a thing okay so
5:13 then you manage the cables here then when you're done managing the cables you
5:16 close up that bottom compartment like that then you have cable management
5:20 holes on the other side two more cable management holes here that you can go
5:25 ahead and cover up with another compartment made out of a stiff material
5:28 feels like uh feels like some sort of particle board or something like that
5:32 not too heavy or anything though and then this guy right here seems to be oh
5:37 I don't think you're supposed to peel that up that's not really a thing okay
5:40 so the angle of it is such that it is inclined for optimal PC sort of keyboard
5:46 and mouse use so you can see it has uh a bit of a a bit of a slope to it so you
5:51 can go ahead and you stick down your wrist rests so that you can comfortably
5:55 use your keyboard and mouse guys we got to set this up on the couch we're going
5:58 to have to we're going to be back this is amazing so just for the laws we had to
6:04 set up the couchmaster in its uh Native
6:07 environment so I've got my media PC over
6:10 there we actually only had to run one of the active USB 3 cables so I'm just
6:15 running that to the keyboard itself and then I'm running the G9 mouse off of the
6:19 keyboard since I happen to already have wireless headphones um I mean honestly
6:25 though if I'm going to play on a media PC I might as well you know use my full
6:29 size speakers in this case I'm just playing audio surf so we could uh we
6:33 could easily run other games but honestly my media PC is kind of anemic
6:38 it's optimized more for silence versus uh being optimized for sheer horsepower
6:43 but uh when I'm done playing video games here which is going to be at the end of
6:46 my actually you know what I already hit a wall anyway so I guess it doesn't really matter so I'm going to show you
6:51 guys how we did get it set up for optimal use here so number one is I'd
6:55 like to show you guys the convenient baby pouch here on your lap where you
6:59 can have your baby sitting with you while you play video games um second I'd
7:04 like to show you guys how we did set up the velcro so we made it so that you can
7:08 kind of disassemble it but you can also get the couch Master set up really
7:12 really quickly with the wrist rest the wrist rests are extremely comfortable so
7:15 what you do is you when you want to get deified you can see the keyboard and all
7:20 the wrist rests are actually velcroed down if I had a hard mouse pad I would
7:23 probably also velcro down the mouse pad itself so I could take the whole thing
7:27 and lift it off me it's some heft to it because it does use wood for the
7:32 construction if I want to put my mouse away though uh oh did you guys take that
7:37 off oh slick apparently took off the see there's a this is a mouse pouch so you
7:42 just go ahead and tuck your mouse in there so it doesn't get scratched or
7:46 lost or whatever else and then you can clip it to the front of the couch Master
7:49 right here um I'm not going to sort of work too hard at this though honestly I
7:54 don't know that the well no actually I'd probably use that for when I put the
7:57 couch Master away it's the kind of thing that like when your great ant comes to
8:00 visit you don't necessarily want to have it sitting on your couch not not that I'm saying you should be embarrassed to
8:04 be nerdy enough to have a couch master I'm just saying that your great ant
8:08 probably doesn't need to know about it so Cable Management wise on the bottom
8:11 there's plenty of room for that uh USB 3
8:14 Hub that's included as well as the active cables and whatever else not only
8:18 that but aside from the four Cable Management holes that allow you to run
8:22 wires up to the top of the unit there's also a pass through right here so you
8:28 can actually go between the two compartments giving you a ton of
8:32 flexibility in terms of cable management space and even these covers here are
8:37 extremely rugged made out of some kind of wood with like a pley coating on top
8:42 of them looks like a laminate actually looks like a laminate floorboard to be
8:46 perfectly honest I'm not sure what they actually made it out of but uh but there
8:50 you go uh very comfortable very comfortable overall I've seen demos on
8:55 their site of it being used on the armrests but I'd say it's actually best
8:59 used on a couch as opposed to on an easy
9:03 chair with these cushions on the armrest I guess what you could also do though if
9:06 you had two cushions that were closed together is you could just use the board
9:10 itself because we were we were discussing this off camera the cushions
9:14 aren't really where the magic happens I mean yeah you've got your integrated
9:18 drink holder do that or whatever else you want to put in there but you can buy
9:22 a cushion like this at sort of any furniture store the magic piece is this
9:26 guy with the correctly inclined piece here the integrated Cable Management as
9:31 well as the well mostly that the the sturdy construction the wrist
9:36 rests is the couch Master worth your money I guess it depends on how much
9:40 time you expect to spend sort of playing video games on the couch with a keyboard
9:45 and mouse versus using a controller um if it was me I definitely prefer a
9:50 controller to a keyboard and mouse I was even talking to Slick about whether or
9:53 not you could potentially hook up like a racing wheel to this thing it's quite
9:57 wellb built so we haven't tried it of course but uh hey there's options there
10:01 as well thank you for checking out my unboxing and first impressions of the
