0:07 an eagle-eyed viewer uh spotted some tj07 parts in one of my recent videos
0:12 and asked when the next personal rig update is coming it is finally here I'm
0:16 sorry guys I've been super busy and I just haven't had much time to work on
0:19 the project but I do have some updates so sleeving is progressing here's the 24
0:26 pin sorry there's an extra piece of heat shrink here that will go at the other
0:30 end when I'm done with it but yeah sleeving is progressing so I'm ending up
0:33 with cables that uh are going to look pretty darn sharp once I C once I bind
0:40 them all together and run them in a way that is that is reasonably nice see
0:44 here's my uh here's my eight pin for the top of the motherboard you can see I've
0:49 done two cables per sleeve which I personally think looks pretty good I
0:53 haven't really seen that done before but I'm sure someone's done it but yeah so
0:56 there those ones will go around there somehow I've also got my r for my T
1:00 Virus Reservoir so I will be integrating
1:03 that into this build somehow you can see I'm experimenting with some fittings
1:07 over here so this is my old big bang X power motherboard this is not the one
1:11 I'm using just cuz my system is running on my test bench down here so I don't
1:15 want to uh I don't want to tear it apart
1:18 just yet but I think I'm going to have to in order to test fit everything
1:24 before I send see you can see the paint's been stripped off of uh off of
1:28 these parts before I send everything in to be powder coated cuz I'm going to
1:31 have to make whatever Cuts I want to make in the metal before I do that so
1:35 you can see I've made some modifications to this case in the past so there's a
1:38 hole here for running fan cables from these two 92 Ms and the two 120s that go
1:44 in the top uh but I'll probably want to widen that and then what I'll also
1:49 probably do normally I used to uh I've
1:52 always run the eight pin under the motherboard here and then up the top
1:56 here because the tj7 US is larger than normal standoff
2:00 but I think what I'm going to do this time is I'm actually going to widen this
2:05 cut that I was using here for the SATA cables all the way along the back it'll
2:09 lose a little bit of strength but I think I'm willing to uh willing to make
2:15 that sacrifice here so I'm going to widen that and then run the eight pin up
2:19 the back and make some Cuts here for a
2:23 uh CPU cut out this is an older tj07 so it doesn't have some of the features
2:26 that the newer ones have cut here for an 8 Pin
2:30 cut here to run the 24 pin and I'll
2:33 figure out if there's anything else that I need to do I still got to figure out how I want to lay out my eight drives
2:39 cuz uh those are a bit of a be in terms of placement just because they take up a
2:43 fair bit of space now there are some challenges that I have here because I
2:47 don't know if you guys are going to be able to see this but there's some come
2:50 on Focus there you go there's some Nicks
2:53 in the metal here some pieces are even worse check out this one see it's full
2:58 of little pock marks um and that was something to do with the
3:01 stripping process so not only that but it completely ate the threads out of
3:06 this piece um and then there's one other piece that's uh having a bit of trouble
3:10 with the threads I was able to put the case back together though it just means
3:13 that uh oh and these threads are still intact which is really fortunate because
3:18 I did not want to try to rebuild those in any way uh you can see here I'm using
3:22 some masking tape to uh dry fit the T
3:25 Virus res without scratching it I won't be using that when I do the final build
3:31 uh routing the water cooling is I think I've pretty much figured out how I want
3:35 to do it I hate having tubing cross I I
3:39 don't think tubing should cross in a clean system so what I'm probably going
3:43 to do is I'm going to use a 90° fitting here this guy is going to be more in the
3:47 front of the case so closer to closer to
3:51 over here like right up at the front so what that means is you're not going to
3:55 be able to see that one then I want to do a hole I'll drill a hole through
4:00 this base plate here as well as through the USB 3 front panel thing that I'm
4:04 going to put right here uh in order to get that one down then I'm going to have
4:08 this come out it'll cross the T Virus
4:11 which I don't like but I'll I'll have to live with that it'll go to the Apple ghd
4:16 Gold down to here this will go to the res then the
4:20 res will go down to the pump which is going to sit down here in the basement
4:24 there's going to be a lot more room in the basement now with um with the c
4:29 Laing tidied up a lot down there hold on let me just sorry guys I apologize for
4:35 the born series like shaky cam that's
4:39 going on here so there's going to be a fair bit of space down here just cuz I'm
4:42 going to have everything routed really cleanly um so then this will come out
4:48 it's going to be pretty tight cuz it has to go down to that bottom that bottom
4:52 tube or the the bottom fitting in order to make sure that the bubbles bleed more
4:56 easily then out here which will go up
5:01 to right here up to the second radiator
5:05 so the it would be easier for me if this
5:08 radiator could be turned the other way but once again for ease of bleeding I
5:12 want to have the fittings on the top so that the air bubbles don't get caught in
5:15 it uh as
5:19 much really don't like the look of being able to see the power supply here what I
5:24 may do is remove the sticker just so that it's a little bit cleaner looking
5:28 um I'm going to try to have as few hittings as I can up here at the top cuz
5:31 as you can tell I actually didn't terminate the ends on the power supply
5:35 itself as cleanly as I did the ends that are going to go to the components sort
5:39 of forgetting that I'm going to be able to see it you guys feel free to post in
5:42 the comments let me know what you think of this tubing placement right here I will be using my blue tubing but
5:47 basically these are going to run around here there we come out a little bit and
5:52 then this tube is going to run from here to here with uh with silver compression
5:57 fittings I just I just don't know about
6:01 that one if I can tighten it up a little bit it might help but I'm just not sure
6:05 in terms of SATA cables I've decided to I've almost decided to go away from my
6:11 usual uh UV reactive SATA cables let me see if I can just find them they're the
6:16 ones that come with Intel's high-end boards or at least used to come with
6:20 Intel's high-end boards anyway I can't find it but I think I'm going to go with
6:23 this guy because it does match the color scheme of the board even though it's not
6:28 reactive in any way it's pretty close to the blue that's on
6:32 there and it'll allow me to have a really tidy uh run so what I'll do is
6:38 I'll go straight from the SATA output here then I will bring it through a hole
6:46 so I'll cut I'll cut maybe that hole will go uh further I'm not really sure
6:50 through a hole and then up here over and
6:53 down to the optical drive now this right now is screwed into uh some holes in the
6:58 motherboard tra that happened to be threaded correctly but what I'll probably do is move it over just a touch
7:04 and drill some new holes uh because it doesn't look like this is going to quite
7:08 fit I may also get a different optical drive I haven't decided what to do about
7:11 that I'm either going to powder coat this or I'm going to get a different
7:14 optical drive so that it'll be flush here it won't be visible this is an older one it's an HD DVD blu-ray combo
7:19 drive so that's why it's so long too
7:22 many lasers
7:26 inside still haven't decided what to do about the outside side of the case the
7:30 Finish is damaged to the point where I don't want to just leave it but I'm not
7:34 really sure if I want to paint it anymore either um I may send it in to be
7:39 powder coated with the rest of the internal parts but I think the whole
7:43 machine's going to look really plain if I do that so I'm still very much
7:47 waffling about that overall nothing insurmountable the
7:52 t- virus looks amazing here I'll show you
7:57 guys that is going to be a heck of a centerpiece for this build oh you can't
8:02 really see it's so bright in here hold on let me turn off some
8:09 lights that's helping a little bit you can kind of see what it's going to look
8:13 like oh sorry guys let me just oh no I
8:17 can't really take that down there that's okay you can kind of see what it's going
8:20 to look like so that's going to look slick I've I'm just going to go with
8:24 clear distilled plain water for the liquid I'm not going to do any kind of
8:27 coloration just cuz I don't want to deal with the gunk that inevitably builds up
8:32 I mean I've got quite the die collection let me tell you I have uh used a lot of
8:38 dyes in my day and there's no
8:43 uh there's no winners where dyes are involved there they are this is my
8:47 favorite die though this is some awesome fluorescent green stuff that Aqua tuning
8:53 way back in the day yeah I got some old dette die this
8:57 stuff was horrible got some fesser dieye
9:01 stuff's all right but eventually um which color was it I can't
9:05 remember there's one color that had that gunked up I'm sure they've changed the formulas since then it's been a long
9:10 time since I've uh since I've used any of that stuff oh there's my old triple
9:14 rad that I used to be using in the bottom of my case now I'm using the
9:18 quadruple so I think that pretty much does it for my update for now I still
9:22 have to uh I still have to go to the local glass shop where they told me they
9:26 should be able to do a oneoff piece of glass for me so sick of this gross uh
9:33 scratched up acrylic so I'm going to get something better for that I still got to
9:37 send away whatever Parts I decide to send away um like this this is going to
9:42 be a bit of a challenge cuz this is supposed to screw on to this piece here
9:46 but because all the threads are dead what I might end up doing is riveting it
9:50 on and then sending the whole thing to be powder coated as one piece so I still
9:54 have a lot of prep to do before I can uh
9:57 before I can go any further so thank you for checking out this personal rig
