0:00 yeah I didn't hear the beep oh It beeped did it it says record so it does okay
0:05 well let's just let's just get started I'll cut that off okay all right so I'm
0:09 here in the trend net suite at CES 2011 and they've got a bunch of really cool
0:12 networking stuff on display so I want to start with their 450 megabit per second
0:18 products so why don't we start on the left and move our way over to the right
0:22 so most of these products are actually brand new and you can see the ones that
0:27 are flagged with a CES launch badge actually the ones that are launching
0:31 here at CES so this is pretty cool this is actually a 450 megabit pers second
0:37 version of their gaming adapter so that allows you to have a high-speed wireless
0:41 connection to not only a uh not only a
0:44 gaming console but really anything that needs a network connection where you
0:48 can't actually run a dedicated wire so
0:51 here we have a concurrent dual band 450
0:54 mbit per second router you can see that actually you're going to see over the
0:58 next little bit here that most most of Tren Net's new products are using a very
1:02 Sleek uh glossy black sexy shell design
1:06 and this is a a a far cry from the sort
1:09 of blue uh that we used to see sort of 2 three years ago so it's coming a long
1:14 way in terms of the industrial design which is fairly obvious here we've got a
1:18 450 mbit per second access point this one's not new and uh also this guy right
1:24 here is not new this was their their 450
1:27 megabit per second router they were first to Market with a 450 megabit per
1:31 second router so this product was a little bit ahead of its time you can
1:34 actually buy it at NC it's already in stock so there's nothing that new or
1:39 announc about this one this is another thing that's not new this has been a
1:44 focus for trenet over the last actually at CES last year they were talking a lot
1:48 about green switches and they've got a great demo here that actually
1:52 demonstrates we've got the green switch which is right here with the green
1:56 stripe on it and this is the blue I was talking about they've got one of their
1:59 old switches and you can see the power consumption is up to 70% less with a
2:05 green switch versus with their older non
2:09 power saving switches and not only that but now we've actually got green
2:14 versions and you can see the green whoops I'm breaking everything you can
2:18 see the green stripe here and the green branding on the front of this but this
2:22 is actually a wireless end home router so we're able to reduce power
2:25 consumption by about half with a wireless end router vers with a less end
2:30 green router versus with a wireless end non power saving
2:36 router and trenet obviously not all about switches and routers we've got
2:40 their IP cameras so we've got a few products here that are new some that
2:44 aren't new and some that are like unne because they're not even released yet so
2:49 let's check out this one first we've got their TVP 612 series of cameras and I
2:54 want to show you guys exactly how smooth the recording is on this particular
2:59 camera has a 10x optical zoom it pans
3:02 330° side to side and tilts 115° up and down which is pretty
3:07 outstanding this is a wireless end camera although it is plugged in via
3:11 Ethernet right now but if you just want to point the camera at that screen right
3:15 there I'll dance a little J and show you
3:19 guys how smooth the recording is on this camera now there's also a power over
3:23 Ethernet version of it which is pretty much the same thing except PoE instead
3:28 of wireless and moving down we have some cameras here that are not quite as new
3:32 such as the TVP 512 W which I do remember from last year at CES now they
3:38 have some new wireless end cameras coming as well so these are more
3:42 consumer oriented models you can see these ones don't feature uh remote
3:46 adjustment of where they're pointed at although we do have infrared models as
3:50 well as some higher-end ones that do feature side to side as well as tilt
3:55 functionality and infrared Lighting on them as well trenet is also taking
4:00 Powerline Ethernet very very seriously and they've launched recently their 500
4:05 megabit per second Powerline AV Adapter look here's a box that's what it looks
4:10 like so 500 megabit per second is a first on the market and a first for
4:14 Trend net in real world you're probably looking at about 200 megabytes per
4:19 second and or 200 megabit per second and change but the reality of it is most
4:24 Powerline adapters are not going to get anywhere near their rated thorough put
4:28 it's a limitation of the tech technology and really that speed is more than
4:32 adequate for HD streaming and even file transfers I've criticized Powerline a
4:36 lot in the past for having great latency
4:39 so it's great for gaming but for not having great thorough put well now you
4:42 can actually transfer large files over it as well so moving along this
4:47 way we finally got some more consumer products we have a few 3G Wireless end
4:52 routers so these are great if you want to uh plug in for example a T-Mobile
4:57 Stick and then share your connection with other people I mean 3G is not that
5:01 fast so you're probably looking at a limitation of sort of three or four
5:05 people using it at a time but it could be handy if you're traveling like with
5:08 one other person and you guys want to share an internet connection in your room and last but not least we have the
5:14 consumer level Wireless stuff so we've got a few Wireless end home routers a
5:18 300 megabit per second concurrent dual band router this is sort of less
5:23 exciting and this is what we find at the back of the suite as opposed to the
5:26 front of the suite where we found all the 400 megabit per second stuff but
5:29 this is still good too we've also got a few little cool uh adapters so so this
5:34 one is ultra compact this one is ultra
5:37 compact so these are both uh Wireless I
5:40 believe these are both Wireless end yeah these are both Wireless end and then
5:44 finally we have the world's smallest so this is a I don't know a micro compact
5:49 whatever they want to call it it's less than the size of an actual USB plugin so
5:54 that's pretty cool as well and oh this one this one I'm really excited about so
5:58 this is the wireless end game G adapter remember I showed you guys the 450
6:02 megabit pers second version over at the front of the suite so this is the older
6:05 one and this one's going to be coming down to a lower price point remember it
6:09 works with Wii Xbox and Playstation but also pretty much anything else that
6:12 needs a network connection but this this is the one that's really exciting this
6:16 is a cool product so this has a built-in switch okay and it is also a wireless
6:22 end Media Bridge so there are similar products on the market for things like
6:26 power line where you have multiple ports on one side side and then you have a
6:30 power line connection running maybe to your main router but this one actually
6:34 runs off of Wireless N so this is really cool so what trend it has to say for
6:38 themselves here is that it works with network enabled Blu-ray players televisions DVRs game consoles it'll
6:44 work with computers pretty much anything that needs a connection to your network
6:48 and is not convenient to access via a wired connection or via power line so
6:55 thank you for checking out my little video about the uh products that are on
6:58 display in the trend net Suite don't foret to subscribe to lus Tech tips
