0:07 welcome to my unboxing of the filco magist stouch 2 this is a mechanical
0:12 keyboard and you can see here filco has
0:15 so many different configurations of their keyboards they let you have pretty
0:19 much whatever you could possibly want in
0:22 terms of the layout so you can have you can have different layouts different
0:26 sizes different switches under them you can have different color schemes of the
0:31 keyboards we've unboxed a cam one before which is pretty cool uh this particular
0:35 one has a black body cover with a 104 key Arrangement so it doesn't have the
0:39 missing number pad it has Cherry MX red
0:42 switches which are basically like a softer version of the black switch so
0:48 that is to say that it's very linear in terms of the travel there isn't like a
0:53 resistance and then a click and then a release uh it's very linear and it
0:57 requires less Force to depress than a
1:00 black switch which isn't to say that it has like a neurological disorder that
1:04 causes it to be sad that is to just say
1:07 that um it is being pressed down
1:11 depressed not like you
1:15 know like it needs you know help from
1:19 somebody to become undepressed although actually no because it doesn't need help
1:23 to be I'm the one making it depressed and then if I would just stop putting so
1:28 much pressure on it then it would be
1:31 undepressed I don't know where I was going with any of this okay so let's
1:35 have a look at the keyboard itself filco is a world-renowned brand they're a
1:40 Japanese brand pretty much if you're into keyboards and more people are into
1:45 keyboards than you would think you have heard of filco you are familiar with
1:50 filco and you probably want a filco keyboard in some shape or form so they
1:56 are known for their build quality very
1:59 very solid keyboards it's not quite a model M but then again nothing is uh
2:04 what can I say right however as far as modern keyboards go you aren't going to
2:09 do any better than this there's absolutely no flex to the deck itself
2:13 there is that weight to it like it's not you know once again it's not a model M
2:18 like you probably couldn't kill a man with it but you could stun him you know
2:23 like if someone broke into your like your gaming den and you all like oh I
2:27 have you know no like axes nearby you can pick up keyboard and be like pow and
2:31 then hopefully you wouldn't wck the USB port because this keyboard does plug
2:36 into your computer by USB or PS2 with the adapter it features n key rollover
2:41 which means you can press as many keys as you want without running into any
2:45 difficulty with you know random ghosting and you know if you learn to type with
2:49 your face then you could type with your face and that would be really weird
2:54 looking but like probably effective uh in terms of the layout I love it because
2:59 as I'm one of those guys who wants to see long shifts enters and backspace
3:03 keys because I have small hands and I can't reach a backspace key over here
3:07 without moving my index finger off of the J which means that I'll get lost
3:10 when I go back and then it'll be a total disaster and I won't know what to do um
3:15 no tall delete key thumbs up again no function key on this one that's
3:20 kind of interesting so two Windows keys this is I guess not a more gaming
3:24 oriented model whereas on the last gaming oriented one we had a function
3:27 key here with media Keys up here and just over Windows key on this side we've
3:31 also got a full number pad and honestly
3:35 in terms of the mechanical keyboard typing experience the number pad to me
3:39 is very important because in my particular job I do a lot of typing on a
3:44 number pad I can actually touch type faster on a number pad than I can
3:47 actually touch type in terms of written
3:50 like words and stuff because I enter a lot of numbers into my computer and
3:56 mechanical Keys make everything faster everyone that I have put a mechanical
4:00 keyboard in front of types faster and is more comfortable than they are on a
4:04 membrane key switch because they do provide more responsiveness more
4:08 feedback and just like they're they're
4:12 better they become depressed more EAS uh undepressed more easily as well so
4:16 that's a good thing too uh again build quality huge rubber pads quality rubber
4:22 pads these are incredibly non-slip four of them on the bottom you can also flip
4:26 up these guys right here and they have folding rubber pads that aren aren't
4:29 going anywhere if you want to Incline the keyboard a little bit and what it
4:33 comes down to with FCO yes they're expensive yes they're a much better
4:36 typing experience and yes you can get pretty much whatever you want in terms
4:40 of the layout the color scheme the switches that you prefer try keyboards
4:45 find out what you prefer personally I'm not an MX red guy it's just not my thing
4:51 however that doesn't mean that I couldn't get this keyboard with different switches cuz feel cool rolls
4:55 like that so don't forget to subscribe to L Tech tips for more unboxings reviews and other computer videos us
