0:01 oh that's a good there we go hey I'm still on time it's still 4:30 so instead
0:05 of being 1 minute early I'm on time okay hold up hold up now I got to
0:11 see if it's
0:18 working it is there we go so instead of
0:22 being 10 minutes early I was then one minute early and then instead of being
0:26 one minute early I was basically exactly on time so that kind of worked
0:34 out hello everyone welcome to the W show
0:37 you might notice that today I am acting as lonus I'm pretty bad at acting as
0:42 Linus so I'm just going to revert exactly back to acting as Luke he's over
0:45 there um building a thing can they know about the thing uh what the hell sure
0:52 okay so he's building a lonus tech tips themed computer which oh that's not what
0:55 I'm doing today this is seven Gamers one CPU oh
0:59 it's super looks like it's line of SE tip them yeah I kind of did that too
1:03 okay so he's building a kind of not really the point of the video but also
1:07 slightly linest techtip themed computer which is seven Gamers one CPU they can
1:12 know that and can they know where it's being shown off at sure yeah hey they're
1:16 they're W show viewers they're the loyal ones where is it where is it being it's
1:19 going to be at Kingston's thing Kingston CES okay it's gonna be shown off at CES
1:24 at Kingston's like Booth or thing or whatever they have whatever it is that
1:27 they have will be there we'll be covering that be sure to check out uh
1:32 youtube.com/ Linus techtips for all of our CES coverage there's going to be
1:36 tons of it I think it's like over 60 videos this year that we're planning to
1:39 do so yeah and if some of the rumors
1:43 turn out to be true some cool things could be happening I think
1:46 ASUS and is it Gigabyte I'm going to
1:49 have to check into my dock here real quick but they might both be jumping
1:53 into the headset space I don't know if they're going to have yeah ASUS and
1:56 gigabite gig gigabite as and Gigabyte might both be
2:01 launching VR devices in 2016 this is a rumor topic I'm going to drop that in
2:05 the chat no I'm not we're going to intro the video which I totally forgot to do
2:10 welcome to the W show I think I already said that part we have some cool topics
2:13 apple is kind of I don't know possibly being dicks and they're being sued for
2:18 it lawsuit whatever China is being really weird and creepy and weird and
2:21 it's probably not fine valve is losing
2:25 Grace a little bit especially with total biscuit and TP-Link is apparently going
2:29 to be making phones because I actually
2:32 have no idea why anyways
2:56 intro the Beautiful
3:03 not pretty cool yeah okay and we're back
3:07 uh yeah it's just me today so that's
3:11 cool I was trying to emulate the guy from Fallout 4 there but I don't think I did a very good job anyways I'm going to
3:16 share this topic in the dock we're going to talk about Apple hitting uh Apple
3:20 being hit with a lawsuit over iOS 99's performance on older phones I think
3:25 particularly um the iPhone 4 because of
3:29 how bad it performs with iOS 9 iPhone 4
3:32 doesn't have iOS 9 that's literally what the topic is
3:38 about really
3:41 yeah this topic might have a problem my
3:45 four doesn't didn't get the update it's lit
3:48 okay blame the title of the
3:52 topic is Apple hit with lawsuit over iOS 99's performance on older iPhones and
3:57 then the third note is after upgrading software iPhone 4S have apparently
4:01 become so slow they are unusable for day-to-day
4:10 conditions we're going to pretend that topic didn't happen moving forward a new
4:14 law force is Chinese companies to provide encryption keys so I'm going to
4:18 post that in the top in the chat really quick um we're going to just pretend for
4:23 now that I guess uh Apple isn't having a
4:26 lawsuit being shot against them I guess
4:29 that's fine I'm going to show you guys the article but it's really boring
4:33 because it's literally just text so we're going to jump back here um
4:37 basically I don't as far as I can tell there you don't have to like submit all
4:41 of your passwords and encryption Keys all the time it's just if they ever ask
4:46 for them you have to immediately give them over encryption Keys passwords
4:50 whatever it's part of a new legislature apparently Kazakhstan is the only other
4:54 nation that has done this and they're claiming that the only other nation that
4:57 has compromised encryption for Citizens data uh com encryption of citizens data
5:02 for the sake of the state I think some people would argue
5:06 that that is happening elsewhere as well but you know I don't know um they're
5:10 claiming that oh no no no we're not installing any back doors but uh in my
5:15 opinion it's not any better to forcibly take the key for the front door so I
5:20 don't know um for those of you in chat
5:23 wondering where lonus is he's literally right there but he's a little bit too
5:27 busy to be on W show I'm going to reiterate what I talked about earlier
5:30 he's building a computer that is for seven people to play on one computer you
5:35 guys might have seen a video that wow I'm really used to pointing in the top
5:39 right hand corner whenever I reference videos but you guys might have seen a
5:42 video where he built one computer for two people he's scaling that up a bit
5:46 I'm not going to tell you all the hardware exactly included um I actually
5:51 only know probably one type of the components of the hardware that's
5:54 included but that's fine um and there's yeah it's pretty cool it's orange and
5:58 black it looks LTT themed but that's not really the point he just really likes
6:01 those colors and it's going to be shown off at the Kingston hyperx area at CES
6:07 where we're going to be covering a huge amount of videos over 60 I think is what
6:13 Nick said in the meeting I just had with him and I think it's like over 60
6:17 minimum so we'll see how that goes
6:20 anyways back to China um yeah they're
6:24 required to hand over encryption keys and passwords when requested by the government so like I said it's not like
6:28 a a constant thing anytime you set an encryption key you don't have to
6:31 constantly hand it over but it's not like that's really any better uh they're
6:36 claiming that it won't damage people's freedom of speech or
6:40 religion but it's China so I don't
6:44 really want to get into politics I think that's all I'm going to say about that um government also says that it won't
6:48 violate their uh anyone's intellectual property rights um and it's going to be
6:53 coming into effect January 1 so you have uh is it January 1 in China already
6:59 so yeah so good luck with that if you're
7:03 in China I think that's already applied so GG although if you're in China and
7:07 you're able to watch this stream and uh yeah that's pretty good I guess total
7:13 biscuit apparently teres valve a new one and I watch the video and he definitely
7:17 does and to be completely honest they kind of deserve it um I'm going to post
7:21 the lonus tech tips topic for this if the forum's even up right now oh it's a
7:27 little slow but it's working oh that's good enough going to post that in the
7:31 chat um basically what he talks about
7:34 isn't necessarily he says that it's bad that
7:37 it happened but the main thing that he's saying is that it's
7:41 bad uh how they responded to it they
7:45 didn't tell people very quickly uh they didn't even respond to it I think until
7:48 after total Biscuit's video and a lot of people are speculating that that's the
7:53 reason why they responded to it CU that was a huge uh PR nightmare for them
7:59 anyways on December 15th steam found that the network had malfunctioned
8:03 that's a weird way of saying that uh their caching started having issues they
8:08 Ed an external service an external company to manage their caching it
8:12 lasted for about an hour before valve had to shut down steam to fix it uh
8:17 valve didn't release a statement until December 30th so that 5 days later seems
8:21 like at a fairly excessive amount of time uh it was a configuration error
8:25 there was I think 2,000 times the
8:29 average traffic on the store than there normally is largely due to the sale and
8:32 also because of a Dos or a Dos attack that hit them so they tried to set up a
8:37 different caching configuration to help manage that and that actually helped a
8:41 little bit but not enough so they applied another one a second caching configuration that one had problems and
8:47 basically 34,000 users were affected if you didn't log in at that point in time
8:52 if you didn't go to the store at that point in time you're fine it wasn't you
8:56 um the contents that were on those pages very varied quite heavily but it was
9:01 some personal information which is not great billing addresses last four digits
9:05 of phone numbers uh purchase histories last two digits of credit card numbers
9:10 uh full names all of that kind of stuff
9:14 I was working with like I said a web caching partner to uh help mitigate
9:18 stuff and they're working with that same partner to try to identify the individual victims uh of this problem
9:25 the one of the things was as well that it wasn't like someone find a found a
9:29 day Zero way to get through a problem it
9:32 was anyone that was using the store if you went navigated to another page you
9:36 might just randomly get dumped on another user's session that being said
9:40 everything was in more or less a readon mode because if you tried to change
9:44 anything it would realize that you weren't in the right session and then
9:48 nothing would happen so there were some people online claiming that they were wh
9:52 knighting and deleting people's uh customer information to help protect
9:56 them no there's absolutely no evidence
9:59 of that happening and it doesn't actually make any logical sense that it could have happened so no that wasn't a
10:04 thing um what total biscuit was trumpeting here was that it's a
10:10 giant problem people being able to see other people's information because of
10:13 stuff like uh swatting that has happened
10:17 lately and if this information got dumped into a big website or something
10:21 and someone pissed you off online and you looked up their name and you happen to be able to get all of their
10:26 information like their address their full billing address address which is
10:29 probably where they live uh you would be able to Swatch them which
10:33 is very true it hurts me to talk about
10:37 this because we had our security breach not even that long ago four months ago
10:43 five months ago really bad with time frames maybe less than that three months
10:47 ago two months ago something like that I don't know whatever we had a security
10:52 breach it was not good but in our
10:55 defense I think we responded quite quickly and quite heavily we sent a PM
10:59 to every single user on the Forum we tried to send an email to every single
11:03 user on the Forum but randomly surprisingly sending out that many
11:07 emails kind of got us detected by a few spam services so they didn't necessarily
11:10 hit everybody unfortunately um and we put like big red banners all over the
11:15 place telling people that bad things were going on
11:18 um yeah valve's response was less than
11:21 satisfactory they responded to I think
11:25 Kotaku or someone Gamespot or something
11:28 like a afterwards and didn't address any of the individual users and then finally
11:33 I'm going to post this in the chat they posted a statement as a all games news
11:39 update which like when they're interesting I find these things on like
11:44 Reddit or the Forum and outside of that
11:48 basically never see them because I don't know why I would go there so they posted
11:52 this it's called update on Christmas issues and this is where they talk about
11:56 everything that happened how it happened yada y y
12:01 it's just bad form and one thing that total biscuit talks about as well is
12:07 that Steam and valve kind of have more or less of a cult following considering
12:12 we you know we've talked about making a bronze statue of Gab Ben I think I would
12:16 have to agree that that is true um a lot of our Christmas songs were directly to
12:21 gab Ben um because we replaced de's
12:24 names with G Ben so I don't know might
12:28 have some truth there and he's saying that they might be falling out of Grace lately with a few
12:32 things that they've done and yeah I don't know having literally one of the
12:37 world's worst customer support systems for a company of this size and doing
12:42 things like this is not helping
12:45 them it's Gabe Newell for like the two people in chat that are legitimately
12:50 confused and the 18 people in chat that are trolls
12:53 um yeah anyways moving onwards TB link
12:58 is apparently making smartphone next year under the
13:02 nephos line of branding
13:05 um why are they going to do this personally I don't really know but I'll
13:10 tell you why they think they're going to do this in a moment there's the uh
13:14 article right there so TPL link claims
13:18 that they hold 42.9% market share on Wi-Fi products that doesn't necessarily
13:22 mean you're going to be good at rking smartphones that's not part of their
13:25 notes um but that's just something I wanted to say they're saying that
13:28 they're brand brand will offer a userfriendly design that is smart and
13:32 simple um I guess they didn't really look into the Firefox OS line of phones
13:38 or else they realize that that one isn't a new angle and two I don't know if
13:43 anyone's asking for that because Samsung Child Mode is like actually surprisingly
13:47 good and if you want an ultra spun down
13:50 phone you can just try that I guess yeah
13:54 I I honestly don't understand why they
13:57 think this is a good idea not only is the smartphone market right now super
14:01 super saturated but if you've watched anyone that's reviewed smartphone lately
14:06 smartphones lately I think minus has even said this himself there isn't a lot
14:09 of differentiation between them everyone's just like well this is a
14:14 new version of Android that'll get outdated as you use your phone because updates for Android are terrible it has
14:19 xpressor and Y whatever just like the same as everybody else does and that's
14:24 about it hooray so what are you going to
14:27 do make a not as good smart phone is that what simple and easy to use
14:31 actually means smart and simple is that a not as good smartphone I don't know if
14:34 anyone's asking for that I don't know uh enjoying my show
14:39 today it's kind of fun being an outsider I like reading this article I
14:44 actually had to do fact checking to make sure that it was real and someone wasn't
14:49 just like trying to make a hype train thing because CES is coming soon and
14:53 they're like let's just make all the rumor announcements we can to get all
14:56 the traffic that we can but no it it seems to be real which is is weird yeah
15:02 they haven't commented on whether or not they'll be targeting budget or mid
15:06 segment or high segment smartphones um
15:09 I'm going to assume it's going to be budget or mids segment smartphones
15:13 because of the smart and simple side of things I love that they're saying that
15:16 they're going to be making smart smartphones that's kind of funny um
15:20 president of TPL link Jeff Chow says that the intention of nephos is
15:24 establishing a seamless connection between people and devices
15:31 so basically TP-Link Jeff Chow the
15:34 president said literally nothing um so
15:38 that was really helpful Jeff thank you for saying that um New York is finally
15:44 installing its promised public Wi-Fi uh apparently they announced this in 2014
15:49 so I don't know if the finally is like necessarily really needed there because
15:54 it's going to be two years in like a few hours if you live where I live and
15:59 that's not that bad for establishing massive Wi-Fi across an entire massive
16:04 City like New York um apparently they are going to be oh did I share this I
16:08 think I shared this still I'm going to try to share this I did not share this I
16:13 will share the thingy in the in the chat thingy in a second thingy it's from The
16:18 Verge so that's uh that's cool I guess
16:22 if you like The Verge the rge is pretty
16:25 cool uh I should have had a most for
16:28 this but I didn't that's probably fine
16:31 so uh they have to establish 7500 hubs
16:35 throughout the city uh on December 28th workers began installing the first link
16:40 NYC access points the idea here is replacing uh telephone booths with these
16:44 things they have Giant ad screens on the side what's like 55 in ad screens that
16:50 note has apparently been taken out of the dock it was here at one point in
16:53 time I don't know why it's there it is never mind I'm lying sorry Colton um
16:57 hubs will include USB charging reports touchscreen web browsing which how long
17:01 is that going to work for and two 55 in
17:04 ad displays the city's estimating that they will make $500 million in Revenue
17:10 over the uh next 12 years so that's
17:14 pretty significant although I'm sure it will cost a fair amount to get gigabit
17:18 Wi-Fi which is what they're claiming basically all over the place there's
17:21 been some controversy this part was taken out of the dock but I I requested
17:25 for part of it to be taken out so I understand why it happened there's been some controversy that smaller uh smaller
17:32 bourbon I think is what they it Suburban bourbon I don't know smaller bourbon
17:35 areas are not getting the reported speeds that they were promised that
17:40 sucks I'm I'm sorry while you pat your tears with your free public Wi-Fi that
17:45 it's not quite as fast as they promised um I would definitely complain if I
17:49 lived in New York but I don't really feel that bad for you when I live out
17:53 here and that's never going to be a thing anyways I think it's pretty cool
17:58 I'm happy that they found a way to profit off of it because if I was someone who lived in that City I
18:02 wouldn't want this to just necessarily be a giant financial burden on the city
18:06 and having 255 in advertisement displays while you might not like advertisements
18:10 in your city you live in New York they're probably everywhere anyways so I don't really think it's that big of a
18:14 deal um Google is trying to ditch passwords this is kind of super weird
18:21 and also interesting I'm going to post that in the chat for a second and maybe
18:24 actually show this one up on the screen although uh keeping a TR going might not
18:30 be a bad idea so I could just have you guys stare at my face while I look at
18:33 the screen down below me this whole time it sounds like a great idea uh basically
18:37 what they're planning on doing is using
18:40 your smartphone as your login device a
18:45 lot of people are using the Google Authenticator already but what this will
18:50 do is make it so that say you want to log into uh your email on a laptop you
18:55 would type in your email attempt to log in then it would push a notification to
18:59 your phone you would pull that notification down press the yes button
19:04 possibly select a number and then it would log you in on the desktop actually
19:09 kind of interesting no need for passwords anymore the idea is actually
19:13 removing passwords and then your password would more be a fallback so if
19:18 say someone stole your phone you could use your password to remove your phone
19:23 as a login device which is actually kind
19:26 of interesting there isn't a ton of information out right now as to like how
19:31 it works exactly what it's doing any of that kind of stuff I'm going to try to
19:35 find did you not put it in here oh I think he did awesome yay Colton thank
19:41 you Colton so once this loads okay so
19:45 this is what you would see so you see your Google signin page uh I don't know
19:51 why he put his email in here where it's easy to see for everyone this is not
19:54 Colton's email um but anyways that's
19:57 fine so you go to log in but as you can see there's no password field you just
20:00 click next it tells you to check your phone tap yes and then tap 21 on your
20:05 phone to log in so I'm assuming it will have a yes button which you press in
20:09 your notification tray and then I'm assuming that it will give you a grid of
20:12 numbers and you then select the correct one and it lets you log in in your
20:16 desktop um this is the trying to sign in
20:20 notification that you would see on your phone here's the yes button for signing
20:25 out another computer oh there we go I had actually seen these before he showed
20:29 me these like right before I went live so what number do you see on your screen
20:33 it's asked for 21 so you press press 21
20:36 and then boom you're logged in I actually think it's pretty neat um right
20:40 now I'm just using crazy ridiculous passwords for all my things that I can't
20:45 remember anyways and I have a password manager remember them
20:49 so this seems fine actually for me I
20:54 like the idea of having that fall back password that they were talking about where you can quickly remove the ab
20:58 ability to do this from whatever phone
21:02 you may or may not have lost because that is extremely important having
21:05 something set up so that you can remove the easy to login things that are out
21:09 there that should be secured because they should be on your person all the time is a very good idea the only thing
21:14 that worries me here is if you're say in
21:18 a foreign country and you lose your phone while you're out and about somewhere and can't get back to a
21:22 computer very quickly and someone's able to steal all your stuff quickly that
21:26 kind of sucks but at the same time you should have security on your phone in some degree whether that's a passcode or
21:30 a fingerprint or whatever preferably a fingerprint those have been pretty
21:33 badass lately
21:37 um this is a little bit of a controversial topic so I'm going to have
21:41 to two-step this one and make sure that I don't do it horribly so that literally
21:46 everyone in twitch chat tries to stab me
21:49 or doesn't try to stab me so give me a moment dumped that in chat I'm now going
21:53 to give you guys the controversial
21:56 title to handle VR graphics gaming PCs
21:59 have to be seven times more powerful okay that's not a controversial title at
22:03 all let me jump back here and read the controversial title that's in the top uh
22:08 the dock NVIDIA says Gameworks VR will help adoption expects 25 million PC
22:13 Gamers to adopt VR and jumping back to
22:17 the article okay so NVIDIA Gameworks VR does
22:22 have some really cool Technologies in it um but as everyone in the tech Bas has
22:27 probably known for a long time now NVIDIA Gameworks is not the easiest
22:32 thing for AMD to work with ever uh there's arguments that go on both sides
22:37 there is people looking at Tomb Raider and showing tress effects which was open
22:41 and NVIDIA's performance being a little bit lower and then they were able to patch up and fix it and then they're
22:46 showing Gameworks titles where uh AMD
22:49 was doing fine compared to NVIDIA but then Gameworks gets added last minute
22:52 and then AMD doesn't do as well blah blah blah I think it's a little bit
22:57 strong fisted to say that Gameworks VR
23:01 will help overall adoption I like some ideas behind it
23:06 like being able to make uh VR games more efficient and run better and all this
23:10 kind of stuff that's those are good ideas uh but if you're trying to help
23:15 overall adoption and closing off performance Windows to part of the
23:20 potential audience that might not end up
23:23 helping adoption I don't know why Taran is standing behind that you can just
23:26 join me Taran what are you doing this is W show yeah is this live
23:32 yeah but it's not Friday wait this is
23:36 like no because tomorrow's New Year's are you coming in to work tomorrow Taran
23:40 yes are you yes you are too yes all
23:45 three of us why didn't we just do the way show tomorrow if you're all going to be here cuz I'm going to be doing this
23:50 all day I have another one you're not oh wow what do you mean you have another
23:54 one you mean your personal build rig there's two builds I thought that was
23:57 the last build do I have to edit both of them I don't know yet I'm working on it
24:02 oh no I've been editing all day every day is this your like need to
24:08 walk around break cuz you're going crazy yes okay you can just take that I can be
24:14 yours now oh but you're putting it on you well I'm the
24:17 sheriff so uh what are we talking about here we're talking about games Works VR
24:22 and uh VR market adoption and how NVIDIA
24:26 thinks that their platform will help over all adoption up to 25 million users
24:31 they don't actually give a date at to which time there will be 25 million VR
24:36 users so that could be 2050 for all we
24:39 know uh what's their VR have we seen it yet is that the Oculus which one NVIDIA
24:44 are the guys that make the graphics cards oh well okay okay okay but they
24:48 don't have their own no okay I was like whoa is there something okay so
24:52 Gameworks VR is like a software platform
24:55 that can help developers of games for VR
24:59 to make their games run better on basically NVIDIA cards and part of it is
25:05 like uh VR SLI which is being able to
25:09 run two graphics cards and have one of them render for one eye and one of them
25:12 render for the other eye oh now that makes a lot of sense yeah cuz 3D can be
25:16 pretty brutal I'm super down with VR SLI
25:19 the whole Gameworks VR thing does sketch me out because I want VR to work more
25:24 than I want the the the fact that my computer hasn't NVIDIA graphics cards to
25:29 run it slightly better right
25:32 um so I don't know I also don't like it when people are like there will be this
25:37 many users of this platform we will help it get to that and it's like okay by
25:41 when exactly um I was at a conference
25:45 vrx not that long ago some people saw my stupid Vlog thing about that thank you
25:50 Taran um and there was quite a few interesting speakers one of them went up
25:55 on stage and fully admitted that he basically knew nothing about VR which
25:59 was a really interesting way to start your talk but then after that talked
26:04 about how he was a financial analyst and has done a lot of stuff behind
26:08 smartphones and 3D TVs and like all of
26:11 these other different kind of things which he also doesn't really know a lot about but knows a lot about uh how much
26:16 people are going to invest into it how long it's going to take for people to adopt these emerging Technologies uh
26:21 barrier to entry all this different kind of stuff and he gave a whole bunch of
26:25 different stats and ideas and possib ities as to the trending growth of VR
26:31 and it was interesting coming from the PC space hearing everyone talk about uh
26:35 the Oculus Rift and hearing him go that
26:38 doesn't matter as much in terms of overall market adoption because stuff
26:42 like the gear VR is going to be given away for free like crazy and then more
26:46 people will be using that wait gear VR is being given away for free what is it
26:50 he speculated that and then yes that is starting to happen what's why is it
26:54 being given away for free when people buy a phone they're getting the gear VR with it which is exactly what he said
26:59 would happen smart dude interesting didn't know anything about VR here's a
27:04 question for Luke can VR be used for anything other than gaming yeah for sure
27:09 like uh what kinds of things would it be most useful um there's already been
27:13 people speculating on VR movies have you
27:16 read Dune I have not read Dune I should read Dune okay well I'm not going to
27:21 spoil anything in Dune uh if you've seen the front cover you know this much there
27:25 a lot of it sand a lot of it has to do with sand
27:29 um and they made a movie yeah okay did you like the movie I thought it was okay
27:32 most people didn't like the movie oh yeah because because they've read the
27:36 book I don't know I'm not sure I haven't seen the movie I've only read the book
27:40 fine okay well one thing that I've thought of is when a lot of people are
27:45 saying porn yep oh yeah okay that makes
27:48 sense yep the porn industry is super behind this MH they're already making
27:52 like devices to make it more fun right they're behind it they're on top of it
27:56 they're all over it they're between two of them spraying why don't you just join
27:59 the W show if you're going to have some comments from over there he's working I
28:03 know on other things anyways um yeah so
28:08 that's one of them VR I think Dune would make a better VR movie than it would
28:11 make a normal movie oh yeah because a big problem that I see with Dune is that
28:15 the landscape is probably be super boring it's just lots of sand lots of
28:19 dunes and it's lots of sand and people wearing full suits that cover themselves
28:23 so you can't really like see them and that sounds super boring but if you put
28:26 someone like in one of those suits so it feels feels slightly claustrophobic and
28:30 they're actually surrounded in every way that they look by sand they might
28:33 understand the like helplessness yeah idea of it all that kind of St get that
28:37 but of course you can't really walk around unless you're on a treadmill
28:42 unless or any something else that they might potentially invent in the future but yeah right now like an omni or
28:47 something yeah but we'll we'll see but VR movies is one of them yeah uh there's
28:51 exploration experiences so golf courses are already trying to do this oh boy
28:55 golf course so you can walk the golf course what I'm more interested in is
28:59 this is going to sound a little bit Grim but um like deathbed bucket list
29:06 experiences so if you're like on your way out and you're like I still got some
29:10 things on my bucket list I want to skydive I want to view the pyramids and
29:14 I want to see the Coliseum mhm uh there can be like VR setups let say you want
29:19 to skydive they set like a fan up above you and put you a VR setup you know
29:23 Sword Art Online touched on a lot of that a big thing with sword art online
29:27 is that would way ahead of where we are now Tapp into
29:31 neural stuff yeah which that's super not happening right now I wouldn't be
29:35 surprised if it did I would be super not you'd be surprised if it did oh yeah
29:39 that kind of VR I don't think it's possible uh not that
29:45 level but I wouldn't be surprised because they're already trying to do
29:49 this to a certain degree I wouldn't be surprised if they had muscle impulses be
29:52 transmitted into a computer oh yeah but I don't think it'll take it over and
29:56 also you could definitely have um um the computer sending signals to you to
30:01 simulate feeling yeah I can totally believe that and that'll be super cool
30:04 yeah that'll be cool and probably abused horribly horribly horribly oh yeah and
30:09 the porn are porn that as well a lot of
30:13 it comes back to VR porn well that you know porn has been the front runner for
30:19 like of a lot of Technologies yeah and that's the only one that I know ofar
30:24 yeah sure that sounds correct oh like
30:27 like it like like uh low not insanely
30:32 high level camera gear yeah like kit that honestly we would
30:36 buy probably often driven by the porn industry um outside of that there's like
30:41 social stuff people are already doing uh social movie viewing so they set up like
30:46 a virtual movie theater and you get a seat oh yeah and like everyone sits in
30:50 the same or you can like watch a movie on the moon with some friends there's
30:54 like a big projector that goes off the moon and you're sitting on the moon um
30:58 the the idea of meetups so you have like family gatherings and VR where you get
31:02 like a 3D scanner to scan in your body better than a webcam basically I can do
31:07 that yeah that's that's cool yeah that's cool I don't know some people are saying
31:12 the internet there is going to be VR browsers I don't know how good it's going to be uh I know other people have
31:17 talked about the idea of not having like a huge crazy multiscreen setup yeah but
31:22 just having a VR headset right well as long as the resolution's good enough yes
31:26 which it's not not right now right
31:30 now maybe eventually right I don't know
31:33 anyways I'm going to move on from this topic Troopers VR
31:38 Troopers that was a show you've never heard of VR Troopers
31:43 no never heard of VR Troopers what's VR Troopers it's kind of like a Power
31:47 Rangers knock off oh I'd probably prefer Power Rangers oh
31:53 I definitely preferred Power Rangers it was just on after some the chat talking
31:56 about preferring things Ashley Madison has added 4 million new members since
32:01 the hack that exposed users identities cool so apparently people don't care for
32:06 one and two probably were never really
32:10 using fully true identities um I I do
32:14 have something to add to this one are you on Ashley Madison I am on Ashley
32:17 Madison so I've been on Ashley Madison since shortly after the hack when we
32:22 talked about Ashley Madison and me too
32:26 how I'm not on it me too because Ashley Madison does not require email
32:30 validation to create a free account so the fact that they have four million new
32:35 members means nothing Oh I thought
32:39 everybody requires email validation these days not these guys not these guys
32:43 which is probably part of their marketing campaign because this has
32:46 probably increased people's confidence in the company so they probably told
32:51 people that they have 4 million new members not just a random statistic they
32:54 were like hey hey we have 4 million new members hey and then they posted a news
32:59 article about it interesting you know I heard about this other dating website uh
33:04 where it's only for like really attractive people and they force you to
33:08 always put new pictures up like every month or so and they got rid of they
33:12 they like blocked a whole bunch of users off the website cuz they're too ugly no
33:16 because they got fat over the holidays this was like a couple years ago and
33:21 then there was an outpour there was a flood of new people coming in who heard
33:25 about this right so similar situation
33:28 asley madis right they're like oh I want
33:31 to be on this site that b ugly
33:36 people that's horrible you know what it is no I I don't remember at all that's
33:41 hilarious I don't really care to be completely honest I just thought that was really that is funny oh my
33:47 goodness beautiful people
33:50 only so Taran did they let you on the
33:54 site I would have I would have too
33:58 but that's probably why we're not allowed on the site
34:04 yeah yeah I'm the sheriff
34:08 sheriff what else should we talk about here you are the sheriff Darren rise of
34:13 the Tomb reader has a tentative PC release date um ldlc.com reports 29th of
34:20 the first month of 2016 so like in basically a month um Amazon France
34:26 reported the same thing although it's not technically confirmed squix did say
34:31 that the game would launch early 2016 so hopefully it is coming which game Tom
34:36 rise of the Tomb rise of the Tomb raid how many tomb Raiders are games are
34:40 there Lots now recently just two I see
34:43 but over the whole course of everything tons of them you remember traffic cone
34:47 boob you hear that is that technically complet like are we sure that's
34:52 true told me oh yeah wait wait I I I
34:55 don't think I've heard the whole thing I know that the very first Tomb r like there was such slow polygons what I've
35:01 heard I don't know if this is true I don't know if it's been confirmed twitch
35:05 chat can probably tell me if it's true or not um but what I've heard is that
35:09 there was investors coming into the studio for the first Tomb Raider game
35:12 that they're trying to make and one of the designers was trying to touch up the
35:17 um what's her name the Tomb Raider chick um Laura Laura Croft was trying to touch
35:21 up her design and accidentally like deleted her boobs or something on
35:25 accident so it was like uh tried to fix it and put in traffic cones and then the
35:31 texture just wrapped over them right so like it was kind of fine um and he like
35:37 admitted the mistake while they were there but he's like this is it's just a representation or whatever and then they
35:41 were like actually we like it keep it so
35:46 I don't know that sounds like a myth it does that's why I'm like uh when I first
35:51 heard that they just reused the traffic cone one I was like oh okay that might
35:55 be a thing because that actually happens a lot in older games look at Mario the
35:58 bush and the cloud is the same actual thing they just recolor it so I was like
36:02 okay that might make sense for memory reasons or whatever when I heard like the investors coming to the office thing
36:07 I was like it sounds pretty hoaxy to me I don't
36:13 know no one's like really
36:18 saying yeah I don't
36:25 know people are posting little emot that look like boobs that's kind of fun
36:29 that's fine I'm going to do sponsor spots traffic
36:33 cones they should just texture them like traffic cones no no they need to be
36:36 posting traffic cones you got to get a traffic cone picture in there that's
36:40 true now that's yeah that's very true anyways Squarespace they're simple
36:45 powerful and I think that they're beautiful I don't know what that's an
36:50 opinion I think they would make it on that website oh yeah but I'm not really
36:54 sure 247 live chat support uh and email
36:58 it's only eight bucks a month you get your a domain for free if you sign up
37:02 for an entire year it has responsive design so if you want look at it on a
37:06 laptop or a desktop or that desktop or
37:10 your phone it'll look fine it has a Commerce module that every website comes
37:15 with uh which is like an online store so you can sell stuff like little
37:20 Stormtrooper lights that go on your keys they pretty cool you can spread the feet
37:24 and they glow in different direction anyways there a GI for my girl friend
37:27 it's very nice um you there's a cover
37:30 page module just in case for some reason you only want to have one page on your website it's a resume or something like
37:35 that everything's fine um you can start a trial with no credit card required and
37:40 start building your website today when you sign up for Squarespace make sure
37:43 that you use offer code Linus and you'll get 10% off of your first purchase so if
37:46 you like sign up for a year get a free domain and get 10% off that's pretty cool Squarespace build it beautiful Beau
37:52 that's the part that I know I got to go I got to finish editing I wanted to do
37:56 like the surprise thing bye bye
38:03 Taran I didn't put the thing up ah there we
38:08 go sorry Nick I didn't put the lower third on uh does that mean I need to
38:14 redo it okay so the lower third is down here that's where the off coat is I had
38:19 to like home my fingers in I went too far one way then too far the other way
38:22 but it's there um now I'm going to switch to Fresh books and the l oh
38:29 I don't think that's how that's supposed to work you got this
38:32 bro I didn't set this part up I don't know what to do I'm going to put this
38:39 here so there we go
38:45 freshbooks freshbooks is the easy to ous invoicing software that helps small
38:49 businesses look professional and get paid faster you can even do things like
38:53 receive deposits so you can get a little bit of the money for your work before
38:57 you go do your work so you know that they're actually going to want you to do
39:00 it and they'll actually show up for their side of the appointment and stuff like that it's actually really helpful
39:04 especially if you're a small business uh it's completely free for 30 days if you
39:08 go to freshbooks.com as you can see in this awkwardly placed box that happens
39:13 to be right there um if it does a lot of
39:18 stuff it can track the amount of hours that you that you do at what job when
39:23 where all that kind of stuff so you don't have to worry about any of that kind of stuff if you have purchases that
39:27 need to be made you just take a picture of the receipt and they can log that for
39:30 you so it's easy to expense later on it has a time sheet function you can manage
39:35 your expenses overall in terms of whatever you need to manage um it can
39:40 even tell your you can even tell you if your clients have looked at the invoice
39:44 that you have served them which is nice because if they're like you never sent
39:47 me that you can be like look dude I did
39:50 you even looked at it man come on aren't we friends you can do that which is
39:55 helpful if you have any questions you can feel free to reach out to their
39:58 support staff where you'll speak to real human which is cool um no phone tree no
40:03 escalations no return calls just answers which is actually kind of nice so like I
40:08 said go to freshbooks.com WAN and enter Wan in the how did you hear about a
40:13 section and they also just got a Mobile card reader or mobile they also got a
40:18 Mobile card reader there we go I think you can plug it into your phone scan
40:23 cards or something there's a 3% charge
40:26 on it and I think it cost 20 bucks um
40:29 but the 3% charge includes the already there credit card charge so it's like
40:34 half a percent or a percent or something
40:37 yeah it's it's not bad there's a lot of credit card readers that are worse so
40:42 there you go and it's kind of cool to be able to be like here's my phone that has a thing and you can swipe it and then
40:48 everything's fine it's nice you can take charges while you're there so you have
40:51 to wait like 30 million years to get a someone to pay you if I sound salty it's
40:56 cuz I've been in that situation anyways jumping back to the normal part of the show what not from
41:00 you actually you've been pretty good I meant when I was doing like odd
41:06 jobs for people I told you I used to do like it
41:10 work for random like offices and stuff yeah that would sometimes take forever
41:14 they would always conveniently forget or conveniently not see it so yeah I would
41:20 have probably legitimately used fresh books back in the
41:23 day anyways let's see what more topics
41:26 we have I'm going to do a uh straw pole thing
41:31 actually real quick I want to see what you
41:36 guys are excit I don't know
41:40 what is happening in that
41:45 room let me okay I'm asking you guys
41:49 what um what did you guys just
41:52 do what did they do huh why are they freaking out what did they do Nick's
41:56 telling him about the what the thing the most
42:02 thing oh my God upcoming super fun you
42:06 can kind of I think you can kind of tease the prank because we'll introduce
42:09 it right at the beginning of the video right hey
42:14 Burl can you get Burl to come out
42:19 here uh what has
42:27 are you excited about it CES wow I can't straw pull this I'm going to Twitter
42:31 Blitz this why was I going to straw pull this that was a horrible idea you can't
42:35 input your own opinions at all twitter.com so what I'm going to ask you
42:40 on the Twitter Blitz which we're I think going to use mine because I don't have
42:44 Linus's login do you want to talk about what you just did on the wow or no oh
42:47 sure okay cool well should I yeah it's up to you I don't know if that's a so
42:53 maybe don't like explain the whole thing I don't know okay well I'll explain
42:57 expain it I explain it very briefly um
43:00 so here long story short I've been periodically pranking Taran for one
43:05 year basically since C last
43:08 year and I've the video I'm trying to do
43:12 for today wasn't working so I'm like you know what I did not know about this
43:16 there is no way that I would have approved you to do something like this
43:19 yeah you did you definitely did I told you about it and you're always asking me
43:24 hey how's that thing with tan going so I guess uh I guess that's today I
43:28 guess that's going to be coming up on super fun because I didn't actually plan
43:32 on doing it yet but uh we just went
43:35 through the Windows so that's we went through a certain prank that didn't
43:38 actually work because teran's too logical he did too logical of a thing
43:42 when he experienced it so what what
43:45 prank was that uh you'll have to find out oh on no the one that he experienced
43:50 that wasn't good is that coming out yeah yeah yeah okay okay but that's it it's
43:57 just a prank dude calm down oh my God it's just a prank dude I just stepped on
44:01 your shoes that's it's funny it's a prank oh
44:05 my God if someone stop and like sometimes they stomp on their foot Luke
44:08 I just poured water on your laptop it's a prank though dude don't get
44:12 mad dud it's a prank okay bye bye W show
44:16 makes me so sad okay so you guys actually do have to tweet lonus I
44:19 figured out how to make that work so Linus on Twitter and hit him up with
44:26 what you're excited for us to cover at CES or what you're excited to be at CES
44:31 in general at all if you don't really care if we covered or not but you
44:35 probably like that'll be nice if you
44:39 cared I'm going to cover where I normally sit
44:42 up there we go okay so hit me up on
44:46 Twitter there for a while I'm going to go talk about something else for a
44:49 little bit if there is even any more topics
45:01 uh apparently csgo is the bestselling game on Steam in 2015 it beat out GTA 5
45:09 and it beat out Fallout 4 I'm not super surprised that it beat out Fallout 4
45:13 considering Fallout 4 was only out for like two months or something so I don't
45:20 know I don't think that's that surprised also I'm going to speculate here I don't
45:24 know if everyone's been speculating about this or not but I'm going to speculate here that a lot of that was uh
45:31 not necessarily purchases that they well it's money so they're probably happy
45:36 about it but not necessarily purchases that you want uh I played csgo
45:42 for quite a bit in the first I'd say
45:45 half of this year and every single time that there was a sale everyone that I
45:49 knew that played actively would less than the amount that they played because
45:54 the amount of people that hack hacked would just absolutely Skyrocket the
45:59 amount of new like basically brand new accounts that would just randomly have
46:03 CS go and randomly be destroying in
46:06 games in completely ridiculous ways that
46:09 would show up right around sales and then would
46:12 disappear within maybe two weeks was
46:15 insane and would still count into their sales records so yeah also I think this
46:22 is bestselling as in amount of sales not
46:26 best selling as in yeah it's it's owners so it's amount of sales not uh revenue
46:32 from the sales so when you just like kill the cost of a really popular game
46:35 people are probably going to buy it uh
46:39 yeah I don't know so it it went first place was Counterstrike Global Offensive
46:43 then it was Grand Theft Auto 5 then Fallout 4 then Ark survival evolved
46:49 rocket League Gary's mod Left for Dead
46:52 Two Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim Terraria and
46:56 then Witcher 3 the wild Hunt in number 10 it goes down
46:59 to 25 uh yeah I don't think I'm that
47:05 surprised but I don't know I think a lot of it's
47:10 not necessarily the most genuine of sales let's see what you guys are
47:14 excited
47:17 for Jem Johansson I hope I'm saying that
47:21 right can you guys see this yeah that's
47:24 kind of not small enough let me get a better VI VI for you guys sorry one
47:31 second screen capture I'm just going to do like two
47:38 blocks there we go I think that's
47:41 better so Yim Johanson hopefully I'm
47:44 saying that correctly says I would love to see some home automation stuff I
47:47 would too if it's like actually new and
47:51 good uh I've seen a lot of home automation stuff at these shows which is
47:55 really not that impressive and kind of generally crap so hopefully there's
47:59 better ones uh not that long ago on Kickstarter I saw one that I think was
48:03 called the gecko switch and the idea was that you would take out a current switch
48:09 that was in your home put the home base
48:12 of that switches gecko switch there and then basically a wall sticker switch
48:17 somewhere else and then that would essentially move where the switch is
48:21 that's actually kind of cool because then you could have like a bank of switches somewhere that can you can
48:25 basically move them around because the amount of times that like you have to
48:29 cover a switch up with something or a switch happens to be in a completely
48:33 illogical location I don't know drives me
48:37 absolutely nuts so that's kind of a cool solution for that um iPhone soccer again
48:41 I don't think that's going to be happening uh we're not sponsored by the
48:47 best Dam screen protectors out there this year we're sponsored by Squarespace
48:51 build it beautiful so um maybe we'll
48:55 have it super fun about kicking websites around I doubt it um looking forward to
49:02 more VR Shenanigans readly available to the public uh yeah that'll be cool I
49:08 don't think CES is going to be largely uh like maybe at CES companies
49:14 will be announcing their finalized dates of when you're going to be able to get them or maybe they're going to be
49:18 announcing the ability to pre-order them or something but I don't think there's
49:21 going to be any uh obviously like fullon
49:25 releases there uh HTC 5 breakthrough announcement we
49:30 will see hopefully that's good some new displays will be nice too displays are a
49:34 fairly common thing um oh wow this is
49:38 not working perfectly so it needs to be there so Jim Jim Leander Jim Jimmy Jim
49:45 jimer Jimmy Linder gonna go with that uh
49:48 say says some new displays would be nice too that's actually fairly common I
49:51 think last year we had HP and LG talking about
49:55 displays monitors and TVs are always
49:59 definitely a thing at CES so if if there aren't monitors being a big thing there
50:03 will be uh TVs at the very least the
50:07 amount of 8K TVs this year is probably going to be annoyingly insane also
50:11 excited for lonus drop tips 2016 any any
50:15 comment on that I don't drop anything on
50:20 purpose which is why it's even more I think that's why people like it
50:26 all right so no real comment on that other than that he doesn't do it on
50:30 purpose uh moving down people are
50:33 excited for VR that's good because I'm already planning a few videos on that
50:37 hopefully so hopefully you like it and share it and watch it and do all that
50:41 kind of fun stuff so I can keep doing videos on VR uh more lineus dropping
50:45 things wow
50:49 ruthless uh so to see some new pc cases I think
50:55 there's at least a few companies that I'm going
50:58 to see that have PC cases and if that's true for me there's probably some with
51:02 Linus as well so if you're excited for PC cases that's probably going to be
51:05 fine um we're probably not going to be
51:09 playing soccer again so unfortunately probably
51:17 not Linus's new Top Dog
51:22 monitor lus the new best monitor yet maybe
51:28 have you felt tremors so someone's asking a not CES related question which
51:32 is probably more for lonus than for me uh but he's asking about an earthquake
51:36 that was up here recently I don't think we felt it that hard did we oh yeah you
51:39 did oh yeah I was in my office so I was like one story up uh it was crazy and
51:45 Taran came like ripping up to my office and was like holy crap did you feel that
51:50 was that an earthquake oh wow I was watching the hi FL and I thought someone
51:54 kicked my chair I was asleep and had a crazy dream that like Colton died and I
51:59 bought a plane and like weird things
52:03 happened I told colon about it it was funny but it's completely unrelated
52:06 topic but yeah I had no idea it happened but then when I woke up and everyone was
52:10 freaking out about it I was like yeah that makes sense as to what the hell my dream was about so apparently I'm not
52:14 going to wake up if there's a crazy freaking uh
52:18 earthquake Dale Caldwell says that he's interested in argumented reality I
52:24 really hope that's a thing this year um one of the problems that I foresee with
52:28 augumented reality um is that it has to
52:32 be really really really good VR actually
52:36 has the lucky exception of being able to be constantly powered by a computer um
52:41 augumented reality is going to honestly in its ultimate form need to look like a
52:45 very normal pair of glasses that happens to have the lenses are able to have
52:50 projections on them somehow so you can see things on the normal lenses I think
52:55 that's the one of the ultimate LS for augmented reality until they get it into
52:58 like contact lenses but like whoo dang so I don't know we'll see mostly
53:03 augmented reality stuff we've seen so far has been kind of not great
53:08 so I don't know yeah people just saw edzel in the Lan hoodie I think that's
53:13 still going to be a while till that's available unfortunately you'll get yours
53:16 at the show what that's awesome
53:20 apparently I'm getting one at the show so that's
53:23 cool tons of people saying monitors VR
53:27 so at least there's one category for
53:30 each of us right
53:35 um is that your text message s just oh
53:39 that's fun is she your
53:45 Baymax um someone says all you care about is Squarespace ads that's good
53:50 because I think every video will have one so hopefully you really like
53:54 Squarespace ads really like I know and you really like me saying
53:59 build it beautiful CU I'm probably going to go ham the entire time my voice is
54:02 going to be gone near the end of it too if it's anything like previous years so
54:06 it's going to be like s face bil beautiful which is probably going to be
54:10 even better so let me know line is dropping things and breaking them damn
54:14 you guys really didn't forget about that did
54:21 you AMD Polaris I'll see if it's going to be there I'm the one going to the AMD
54:26 booth so hopefully they've got some really cool stuff
54:30 uh excited for some NVIDIA stuff I think
54:34 they have a VR thing I'm not sure it's
54:37 probably just VR Gameworks Oculus consumer I'm going to
54:42 go to the Oculus Booth uh their media
54:46 contact is like literally the hardest people to talk to ever so we still don't
54:49 have an actual media contact at Oculus so I'm just going to go line up like I
54:53 have at every show that we've done anything about Oculus with uh so
54:57 hopefully I can make that actually fit
55:00 um but yeah I will
55:03 try the exciting thing about Vive and
55:06 Oculus consumer version if you're excited for those news from CES is that
55:10 they're probably coming out relatively soon so you don't have to worry about like seeing it from CES and then waiting
55:16 a ridiculously long period of time that
55:19 spoiler what spoiler oh I think someone said
55:24 something about Star Wars
55:33 super excited to see some advances in VR okay I think I might be done with this
55:37 Twitter Blitz basically everyone's saying the same things home automation
55:41 VR monitors and lus drops things so someone said VR and sex dolls
55:48 I don't think that they're going to oh I just deleted my
55:52 thing that's awkward I don't know where it is is I'm
55:57 not going to have a lower third for the rest of the show CU I literally just
56:00 deleted it so that's unfortunate but it's probably fine
56:09 um I was trying to delete the Twitter one and deleted the wrong one and then
56:15 also deleted the Twitter one so that's probably fine um apparent oh this is
56:20 actually totally cool there's a totally experimental CPU that is integrated with
56:26 o Optical logic uh which promises
56:29 significant power reductions there's some quotes here that are saying things
56:34 like the estimated d uh power usage of data centers is like 20 20 to 30% based
56:40 on just transferring data within themselves Nick is apparently going to fix the lower third I'm assuming oh I
56:45 was nope he's doing something else screw the no don't even doesn't even matter no
56:49 one wants it anyways okay apparently he's fixing it
56:53 um and this should help quite a bit so so they're
56:57 essentially this is a very odd topic to be completely honest researchers say
57:02 that uh it's 10 to 50 times the rate for
57:05 a comparable electronic microprocessor uh because it can what is data transfer
57:10 in the Prototype occurred at 300 gabyt per square millimeter which is kind of
57:16 obscene something to remember about this topic is that it started with totally
57:21 experimental and there's still giant problems like light leaking out of the
57:27 ship meaning that you could uh you know
57:31 lose data and things wouldn't exactly be reliable at all that totally sounds like
57:36 a problem that they can and will solve but it just feeds into the totally
57:41 experimental side of things if we see this it won't be for a while
57:48 um yeah electrical engineer cheyen moera
57:52 hopefully I say that correctly um says that making chips like this required
57:57 etching off part of the Silicon although I still don't necessarily understand
58:01 what he means by that because if you're adding in Optical connectors I would
58:05 expect you to just make a whole new one not like etch part of your current one
58:09 off but maybe that's why it's totally experimental I don't know we've got
58:14 another Topic in here which is actually kind of funny because I reviewed this
58:17 controller the topic name is that why why Microsoft can't keep the $150 Xbox
58:23 Elite controller in stock and there's a a ton of comments on this but basically
58:30 what it comes down to I'm going to share the MSN wait I'm going to share the yeah
58:36 MSN News link is that they looked at the
58:40 market saw that basically everyone was using all the pro guys were using scuff
58:45 controllers um thought that it was relatively saturated but wanted to
58:48 release this controller anyways gave it to some people those people said it's
58:53 cool but it's really expensive so I don't expect that many people to buy it
58:56 then they released it and a whole bunch of people wanted to buy it so they
59:01 didn't pre-produce as many as they were hoping for um they're estimating that
59:06 Microsoft has made 500,000 controllers
59:10 and that's apparently not nearly
59:14 enough I don't know I think that Scuf is
59:17 probably super happy that Microsoft can't keep their controllers in stock um
59:21 but another thing that I've heard actually before reading this article is
59:25 that Scuf hasn't felt too much of a hit from this I'm expecting that it's more
59:31 not necessarily the console Pro Gamers
59:34 or console super crazy high-end Gamers
59:38 that are buying the Xbox Elite controller I'm assuming it's probably
59:42 more like I play a lot of Xbox games and would like a way better controller
59:46 experience so I'm going to grab this thing I think that's cool I actually
59:50 really liked it and I could understand PC Gamers buying it as well if you're
59:54 someone who would use a controller a lot for for PC games which is definitely a
59:58 thing and before pcmr people freak out there's games that work for that
60:02 action-based games stuff like Assassin's Creed I prefer to play with a controller
60:06 um racing games if you don't have a racing wheel keyboard and mouse is kind
60:11 of not the greatest for that space Metal Gear Solid apparently
60:17 Brandon likes it better on controller I haven't played that one yet I don't know
60:21 whatever um a lot of space games are
60:24 getting popular now I've seen ads
60:28 for oh crap Elite dangerous in movie
60:31 theaters and stuff recently and on TV which is kind of crazy actually Star
60:37 Citizen has done some Alpha thing recently that you would probably prefer
60:40 to play with a controller over a keyboard and mouse but I'm not sure I
60:44 personally use my hotas
60:48 so whatever it is I don't know you do
60:51 you man apparently more than 9,000 UK
60:56 households um are saying that they still watch black and white TV you need a
61:00 different uh license for watching different things I
61:05 don't really know how the whole UK viewing TV thing works I've heard that
61:11 you have to have a license that it's not really an option and that's how they
61:15 fund the BBC stuff I don't know but black and
61:20 white licenses cost 50b while color licenses cost 150 lb so I'm kind of
61:26 wondering if some people have found a way to do something so they still get
61:30 color signals and they can pay less for it but who knows apparently there's
61:34 still a ton of people with black and white TVs in the UK that's pretty
61:40 weird other random news from around the world because not a ton of stuff happens
61:44 before CES and we have to find something to talk about in this segment while I'm
61:47 by myself um Belgium their biggest
61:50 advertisement board which is apparently massive it looks massive if you see the
61:55 picture I'll I'll show you guys here in a moment was uh hijacked or hacked or
62:00 whatever you want to call it and they did some pretty funny things you can see
62:03 there they used to be a Coca-Cola ice cold drink Coca-Cola ad thing and then
62:09 they trolled the crap of out of it be by putting on a troll face which I find
62:14 while it's illegal kind of hilarious they did some other things apparently I
62:17 don't know if the photos of them are in here no it doesn't look like it um the
62:23 here it is on the roof of the Coca-Cola logo the series of images one that says
62:27 hello bxl another one that featured the Coca-Cola logo with naked breasts in the
62:33 background so I don't know if Coca-Cola was necessarily that mad about that um
62:38 and they did a few other things one of the silly Parts was that the guys that
62:42 did this filmed themselves doing it and I've heard that there's been complaints
62:47 filed against uh whose faces have been made
62:51 unrecognizable in the video below yeah so they showed their faces I don't see
62:55 where the video below is is oh this is probably the video
62:58 below I'm going to mute it I thought that was an
63:02 image yes this is a video below we'll see if it even plays it's trying to load
63:06 right now um but like they showed their faces in the video that they filmed of
63:11 them hacking this panel which
63:16 like you guys are so
63:19 dumb I don't know yeah highly illegal and they're
63:23 probably going to get screwed over now because they showed the faces on the
63:27 thing um although them getting screwed over is probably Fair because they
63:31 hacked something and put nude images on it behind company logos and stuff so I
63:36 don't know whatever you can decide what to think what you think about that I
63:39 think it's kind of funny but not a good thing so oh
63:43 well um Intel has acquired a company
63:46 called Altera which is an fpga um or field programmable gate array
63:52 company Altera seems to be quite happy about it which is probably not too
63:55 surpris ing um Dan
64:02 McNamara which is an Altera veteran who I think LED this whole takeover thing
64:07 says that combining altera's industry leading fpga Tech and customer support
64:11 with Intel's world-class semiconductor manufacturing capabilities will enable
64:15 customers to create next gener the next generation of electronic systems with
64:19 unmatched performance and power efficiency which is actually pretty sick
64:24 everyone in chat's like just a prank bro yeah I wonder if that was actually what
64:28 happened in the video that would be kind of hilarious people in chat are talking
64:32 about uh Activision buying MLG for $43
64:37 million I'm G to be completely honest I had not heard about that but it's on
64:43 wccftech so if you want to check it out you can go there and check it out um
64:48 apparently they bought MLG so now what it's Activision Blizzard
64:54 King and MLG maybe blizzard will finally get good at
65:00 uh you know having competitive
65:04 titles Wow's Arena has been a disaster ever since the start actually I think
65:08 getting kicked out of MLG so maybe W
65:12 Arena will be back in MLG uh and I I've
65:15 been constantly frustrated by them basically abandoning games my brother
65:19 was a Caster at CC on Twitter for Starcraft for a while and they did
65:24 nothing to help Starcraft they actually hindered the progress of Starcraft
65:29 competitive scene which is extremely frustrating uh Heroes of the
65:34 Storm they don't really seem to be doing a whole lot to help in that department
65:38 Hearthstone they pushed really hard for a while then I don't know they seem to
65:43 just make games and then go I don't
65:47 know maybe with the acquisition of MLG
65:50 they can push Su hard with OverWatch that would be cool
65:56 I don't know I really want OverWatch to work I want competitive blizzard games
65:59 to be a thing sorry about the frustration look
66:04 at Diablo that's like all I have to say
66:07 Okay moving
66:11 on I don't think I'm going to do that many more topics than I'm probably going
66:14 to get out of here oops I think that's actually
66:19 probably it for topics oh right this is actually kind of
66:23 awesome and funny in the same sentence Switzerland is really really
66:30 really really really driving for a universal phone charger for everything
66:34 um all the phones not just Android phones not just Apple phones all the
66:39 phones uh I'm not going to bother switch to the website because it's Vice and
66:44 apparently Vice is all ads at this point
66:48 literally okay look at this I'm going switch my screen you can't even see the
66:52 title of the article because the picture for the article is so big and then the
66:57 ad is so big that it actually pushes the
67:00 entire article off of the front of the fold of the website so that's crazy um
67:07 we're going to jump back to my dock so I
67:10 can actually read things about it uh mobile phones will have to be compatible
67:15 with a universal charger by mid
67:18 27 at the latest uh I think they probably already
67:24 are cuz they're there's cables that are Universal are you just going to like
67:27 drink alcohol in the Stream it is New Year's Day whatever no
67:34 yeah oh no that's tomorrow Eve no no
67:38 yeah okay it's New Year are you already drunk no no it's not open yet okay okay
67:44 so our Construction Company sent this over I don't know what Luke was talking
67:48 about it's fine before I got it's not that important I kind of ran out of
67:51 interesting topics to be completely honest like a while ago why are we
67:55 sitting on top of this cable it's completely in the way minus Media Group
67:59 okay you know what I'm going to fix this okay get up off your
68:04 chair I'm going to I'm getting in here I'm I'm organizing things oh things are
68:09 going to get better you did a lot so you're just going to keep talking and
68:12 I'm going to keep drinking okay so anyway Switzerland
68:16 wants universal charger it or it has to be compatible with a universal charger I
68:21 think they kind of already are it just needs multiple ends so I'm assuming that
68:25 they want it to be compatible with a charger that is able to plug directly in
68:29 to whatever phone it is I think they're probably going to have a lot of backlash
68:33 from Apple on this one so we'll see how that works I think yeah it says the
68:38 European Union has previously voted on this and Switzerland is bringing itself
68:42 in line with regulations
68:45 so yeah I don't really see this being a huge thing unless basically all of the
68:50 EU Gets behind it but we'll see what happens do you know how to properly open
68:54 those I have no idea all
68:57 right yeah just pull on it I mean I would
69:02 assume I don't know it's hard I would
69:06 turn it turn no that
69:11 oh that does make sense I've I've never
69:14 opened one of those either but looking at the construction it pops right it's
69:18 going to shoot don't aim at me you should put like a a a bucket over it
69:22 usually you put like a rag over it or like this glove over or you could let it
69:26 hit the expensive light here use this
69:30 what is it it's a wow sweat well not anymore yeah so you start you'll start
69:34 twisting twisting twisting it's like
69:37 boom here we go are you allowed to drink on Twitch I don't know maybe just don't
69:43 maybe just don't it's not open yet are you allowed to open it whoa wow that
69:50 really exploded wasn't joking dog now
69:53 everywhere so watch out is it yeah away from computers oh it's not oh you're
69:58 good well that was that that was exciting don't drink it I'm not going to
70:01 drink it but that was amazing okay now I got to go find The
70:05 Cork I'm glad you didn't catch it with the sweater I don't
70:10 know Shot Through It shot through it I
70:14 don't think it shot through it I dented a roof it you dented a roof there we go
70:18 I found the CL wow good job there it
70:22 is there it is Happy New Year
70:26 oh Luke doesn't drink that's why this is funny all right all right back to your
70:31 regularly scheduled whatever which is probably ending so thanks for the Epic
70:36 ending thank you guys for watching don't forget to check out our content at ces2
70:41 uh is that right yeah CES 2015 this year6 CES 2016 because it will be next
70:47 year by then oh I'm going to screw that
70:50 up a lot the amount of times I've done like computex 2015 and pack Prime 2015
70:56 and PAX East 2015 has been a lot so I have to remember to say CES 2016 anyways
71:01 check us out you probably know the YouTube channel youtube.com liniste tips
71:06 yeah that's the one over 60 videos I'm
71:09 going to be doing an Afterparty after this not for a little while though
71:13 because the work day isn't technically over so I have other stuff to do and
71:18 then I'll be doing one later
71:41 thank you fresh bu FR thank you FR okay
