0:00 so today we'll be doing a quick unboxing of a memory kit and I saw this and I
0:05 just had to unbox it cuz it's so like shiny and cool looking i' I've never
0:10 seen Corsair's packaging that looks like this so they've completely redesigned
0:15 the packaging for the Dominator GTS it is now like three times well not three
0:20 times it's a little bit taller and then they've also worked in like a bubble in
0:24 the clam shell for their Dominator airflow fan which is a special edition
0:29 Dominator GT T1 cuz you can see that the stickers are red that makes it go faster
0:34 and the red on the modules also makes them go faster so there you go now
0:39 through the back of the box you can now see the serial numbers for all of the
0:43 RAM modules that's a a change they've made lately and I'm I'm not sure exactly
0:47 why but it doesn't really matter so you can see there are three sticks in there
0:51 they talk a little bit about the Dominator GT family it represents the
0:54 ultimate and performance technology uh their Dominator GTS actually weren't
0:58 even available at res sellers to start with and they are hand tested okay let's
1:03 here we go the optional airflow fan not really optional when it's included right
1:07 in the Box But it includes 2 60 mm fans to provide impinging air flow to the
1:12 memory subsystem that sounds Hightech anyway
1:16 all right let's get this thing open here we go I'm going
1:20 to unbox
1:23 it okay well how don't we do the fan first I think I've had a look at the
1:27 Dominator airflow fan before but for for the benefit of anyone who hasn't already
1:32 seen my unboxing of the Dominator airflow I might as well just uh unbox it
1:36 on account of this is a special edition red one anyhow all right here we go if I
1:42 could get it out of the bubble wrap there we go okay so on the bottom we
1:46 find there two fan Clips which I'm not a huge fan of having to attach these
1:50 yourself get it a fan um but you take
1:53 these these thumb screws and then you
1:56 position yeah it's really awkward you position these under here and then you
2:01 actually screw the thumb screws in from the top to attach the two clamps and
2:05 then you put the clamps over your over your memory slots and it kind of looks
2:09 like that from the top down I mean they've got a really nice finish on this
2:12 thing nice brushed aluminum finish to the top plate the fans are they're
2:16 reasonably quiet they're better than the old Dominator uh airflow module but uh
2:21 they're still not the quietest thing in the world although you can turn them
2:24 down and they use a reasonably good quality sleeving on the fan sleeve here
2:29 it's not the best I've seen but it's a lot better than what you tend to see on
2:33 on a typical cheap fan all right they've
2:36 blacked out the uh the stickers on the bottom here so that you can't see what
2:40 brand the fans are but it doesn't really matter all right there we go that was
2:45 the airflow module now let's bring out the actual oh I get it wow I'm stupid
2:50 I've seen this pack before all they did is they took this pack and a fan and
2:55 they put it together ah very clever course there touche all right so how do
3:02 I get this open oh I need a knife uhoh
3:06 trouble yep there we go I'll just use a pen cuz pens are always
3:13 handy always have a pen in an office
3:16 it's very difficult to go into an office and not have a pen anywhere in the
3:20 office because then people couldn't write things unless they use pencils and
3:24 I don't think I've used a pencil since elementary school it's been a very long
3:27 time um Intel core i7 extreme Edition
3:30 check marks so these are ready for the extreme Edition and if you're not buying
3:34 an extreme Edition processor I don't know where you get off spending so much
3:38 on your memory so that makes sense okay so here we go uh we've got Dominator
3:43 GT the module itself why don't we just take this out of the
3:47 box and then um so yeah unlike their
3:51 normal dominators the Dominator GTs have a special edition
3:57 red heat sink up on the top oh this is
4:00 interesting I've never seen this before I have to admit I have no idea what this
4:05 is for there's a little pin out on the
4:08 memory module maybe it says something about it on the
4:12 box absolutely nothing okay well here if
4:15 you can leave a comment saying either if you know what this is for or if you have
4:20 some idea what this is for it's actually on um it's on all three modules and um
4:28 yeah I don't know what that does okay so anyway you've got your standard 240 pin
4:32 DDR3 pin out along the bottom here you've got again your standard Dominator
4:38 heat spreader along the side and like I mentioned before it's a special edition
4:42 Red Top I believe Corsair does three colors black red and blue depending on
4:46 which kit you're buying and then on the side you can see they've got a slightly
4:49 different sticker from the normal Dominator one with the GT and it is red
4:53 so that'll go really nicely with an EVGA classified or another uh bright red and
4:59 black accented motherboard so thank you for checking out my unboxing of the
5:02 Corsair Dominator GT triple Channel kit
5:06 turn that around
