0:00 Linus Tech tips coverage of PS 2013 is brought to you by Western Digital Intel
0:04 and steel Series this is Luke liser and
0:08 this is his stinky foot maybe if he wore socks with his sandals he wouldn't have
0:13 that problem I love the name of the product we walked by the booth and I was
0:16 like you've got to be freaking kidding me what is this thing so uh basically
0:20 it's a d-pad for your feet that you can uh bind any action to uh it's four ways
0:26 your foot rests on it all the time so you don't have to look for the button
0:29 you don't have to hover over the button uh it works with any game any game that
0:34 has uh modifiers as well like such as shift control and ALT uh It'll recognize
0:39 it so for games like that that's 16 functions under your foot you can also
0:43 adjust the tension and the resistance of the board we give you Springs so that uh
0:48 you can modify the feel of it some people like a heavier feel or a lighter
0:51 feel um what else why why why why did
0:55 you make this because there were foot paddles available or foot pedals
0:58 available for PC already
1:02 so so the main reason why I I made this
1:05 is because I tried other pedals and I was hovering my foot over them or I was
1:09 looking and fiddling around the desk looking for them I wanted something that
1:13 I knew where my foot was at all times and uh I wanted more buttons that's how
1:18 it came about now we usually don't talk MSRP on our Channel because the the
1:22 usual procedure is click the link in the video description but I think based on I
1:26 mean this is gorgeous the aluminum construction here for a first run
1:31 attempt at building PC Hardware this is
1:34 very very nice you guys know a thing or two about what you're doing here how
1:38 much does it cost to get one of these it's $119.99 and during the show right now
1:42 actually here's just a couple other things I want to mention I love this detachable cable folks detachable cable
1:48 if it's something lying around under your desk you want that to be detachable
1:52 so you can move it around or if you accidentally kick it and whatever it's
1:55 not going to break it not only that but they've got a nice little s-shape or
1:59 c-shape to the router for the cable so that
2:02 means that even if you do pull on it pretty hard there's a very slim chance
2:06 it's even going to come detached accidentally it's got nice rubber feet
2:09 on the bottom so it's not going to move around whatever kind of surface you have
2:13 on it um I mean this this thing looks outstanding what are people saying about
2:17 it cuz you got a bunch of machines set up here oh they're loving it they're
2:20 they're really liking it it's it's something that they've never really thought about most gamers are like oh my
2:25 God I can use my feet while I'm gaming well yeah you can and it's funny because
2:30 there's those there's Gamers with disabilities who don't have use of their
2:33 hands that game with their feet and yet we never thought of this just for a
2:37 mainstream gamer um is there any reason why you could only use one of these at a
2:42 time like is there a software limitation no not at all actually our software
2:45 recognizes two boards or more um we have
2:49 DJs using five of them uh guitar uh guys
2:52 who use guitars they use them as a four-way uh guitar effect pedal people
2:57 use them in Photoshop illustrator sky the limit that is absolutely
3:02 outstanding so guys huge thanks to Luke for doing this interview with us and
3:07 well bringing this to the market I'm pretty excited about it don't miss any
3:11 of our packs Prime coverage remember guys we're powered here at the show by Western Digital Intel and steel Series
3:15 so a big thanks to them for making it possible for us to be here and thanks
3:19 thanks a lot so there are a few things that actually really weren't covered in
3:24 the interview but I've had a chance to try it now it's awesome it's as good as
3:28 you might think it is so there's a bunch of stuff like the springs that can be
3:32 adjusted in the bottom not only can they be adjusted they can be adjusted per
3:36 spring so you can actually have different tensions for the different
3:40 directions of the d-pad that you might want to go in it's super easy to do so
3:43 there's an allen key you just pop it out swap the spring pop it back in um it's
3:48 more intuitive than you might think I was only sitting in front of it for about 5 minutes but if you bind it to
3:54 things like uh melee that might be
3:59 inconvenient to reach or things like push to talk or things like um Crouch or
4:04 prone or even WD it's totally up to you
4:08 and the flexibility is incredible I mean even if you're just doing work if you
4:12 were to bind like copy and paste or
4:15 something like that you're going to be saving yourself keystrokes and hand
4:19 movements with something that your feet would be resting on anyway it's very
4:23 cool they also mentioned that the aluminum plate here on the top is so
4:27 thick that you can't bend it by hand even when it's not attached to the rest
4:31 of the board and they have a unit that they've driven over seven times with a
4:36 car that is still in use right now so my feeble stomp test here isn't going to
4:41 look that impressive
