0:00 today I'm going to be unboxing a value motherboard from MSI although it is a
0:03 value sort of tiered board part of their E series of boards it has a number of
0:08 features that we've come to expect including a three-year warranty military
0:12 Class 2 concept components so we have super farite chokes as well as solid
0:17 capacitors that's going to give you more current delivery and a longer lifetime
0:21 so they say 10 years lifetime here but if you flip the box over to the back you
0:25 can see that they figure for gaming it can operate for up to 12 years non stop
0:30 and for office use up to 40 years so yes in the year 2050 you could still be
0:35 using your h67 rig should all of the
0:38 other components that last that long and should you so desire pretty cool so we
0:44 got OC gen2 THX true Studio Pro which
0:48 gives us an ultimate audio experience okay so basically it looks like there's
0:51 a few different settings that are supported by the THX audio got winky 3
0:56 which allows you to surf the Internet chat with friends maintain hard drive
0:59 data edit docs and photos without any OS although I still recommend installing an
1:03 OS for the best possible functionality
1:06 of this board you can see it is compatible with Windows 7 okay uh here
1:11 we've got instant overclocking oh yeah that's right that's with their Control
1:14 Center Software as well as click BIOS so it supports UEFI BIOS just like all of
1:20 MSI's p67 and h67 Boards here we have a
1:24 drivers and utilities DVD here we have a
1:28 quick installation guide showing you how to use use some of the basic uh things
1:32 that plug into other things with this particular board here we've got some of
1:36 those convenient uh M connector
1:40 things those are for plugging in your front panel connectors more easily here
1:44 we've got a user guide couple SATA cables as well as a Molex to SATA power
1:50 adapter and we have an IO Shield all right we got some
1:55 environmentally friendly cardboard packaging here and then we have the board itself so this is an h67 board
2:00 which means it is compatible with all Intel LGA
2:04 1155 processors from their 4 i5 and 4 i7
2:10 families here we go let's just take this guy
2:14 out okay and it is not compatible with
2:18 LGA 1156 processors bear that in mind
2:21 and another thing is that no matter what kind of a CPU you're using you will have
2:26 support for the onboard Graphics but if you're using an un locked CPU you will
2:31 not have support for unlocked overclocking on an h67 chipset board so
2:35 bear that in mind so here we go let's take this sticker off and let's start
2:39 with the CPU socket in the center of the board as I am apt to do so there's your
2:44 lg1155 socket supporting all the latest second generation Intel Core i series
2:49 processors here we've got our four pin power connector and it's almost ideal
2:53 location on the top left I wouldn't mind seeing it a little bit further up here
2:57 we got our CPU fan okay we've we've got
3:01 uh dual Channel DDR3 support we've got
3:04 Clips on both sides some in some ways I actually prefer this system to the easy
3:09 uh one side clip mechanism cuz it always feels a little weird putting the RAM in
3:12 the one side and kind of squeezing it in there and then putting it down and
3:16 clipping it shut I kind of prefer to open up two clips put in the RAM and
3:19 then clip them both shut anyway next we've got our 24 ping connector in its
3:24 ideal location along the right hand edge of the board and here we have four SATA
3:28 2 3 GB per second ports and two SATA 3 6
3:33 gbit per second ports so those are going to be what you want to use for like an
3:36 SSD boot drive if you get a new SATA 3 SSD or any other performance drives you
3:41 have attached to this board and these ones would be more like for your storage drives your Optical drives all that kind
3:46 of good stuff here's our chipset heat sink which is using a pretty stylish
3:50 overall look very angular in design
3:53 looks very nice see if we can get it to actually focus on it there you go all
3:58 right next here we we've got wow four front USB headers 1 2 3 4 here's our
4:04 front panel connectors okay moving over we've got uh
4:10 front panel audio connector right here in terms of expansion options this is
4:14 kind of a this is kind of a new one for me on a more value oriented board oh
4:21 please Focus come on on a more value oriented board we've got a PCI Express
4:26 16x slot here and three PCI e1x slot
4:29 slots so there is no Legacy PCI support
4:33 on this motherboard you will be expected to use all updated PCI Express addin
4:39 cards which I don't think is necessarily a bad thing all right next we've got a I
4:45 don't think I've ever seen an optical audio port up there so we've got a combo
4:49 PS2 Port we have digital audio supported
4:52 bya Optical and then we've got 1 2 3 4 5
4:55 6 USB 2.0 ports no USB 3.0 on this board
5:00 guys we have HDMI gigabit Ethernet VGA
5:03 DVI Okay so we've got quite a range of
5:07 output options for display and then we've got onboard 7.1 audio thank you
