0:07 okay in the front of this stack I have the trenet Tew 684 UB this is a 450
0:14 megabit dualband Wireless and USB adapter okay this was released around
0:18 the same time as the trenet Tew 691 gr
0:22 now this is a 450 megabit Wireless and gigabit router however what you may
0:26 notice about these two products is that this one is actually capable of higher
0:30 speeds than this one and these were were sold as like a like a matched pair you
0:35 can see it'll probably recommend no it doesn't Okay well whatever trenet
0:39 pitched it as those should work together pretty well which they will they will run at 450 megabit per second which at
0:44 the time was not available from any other manufacturer however trenet has
0:48 recently released an updated dualband
0:51 450 megabit per second concurrent Wireless N router this is the Tew 692 gr
0:57 and you can see that these guys actually have matching charts whereas the
1:03 691 that chart ends at 450 megabit per
1:06 second so here you can see 450 megabit per second dual band is even better than
1:10 450 megabit per second which is even better than 300 megabit per second dual
1:13 band which is better than and so on and so on and so forth so today's unboxing
1:17 is going to be for the truly matching router for that wireless adapter which
1:22 provides up to once he gets the plastic off then he
1:27 will talk about the product there we go all right up to to 900 megabit per
1:31 second of total Wireless throughput concurrent dual band technology
1:35 generates two separate 450 megabit per second wireless end networks at the same
1:40 time OneTouch network connection with Wi-Fi protected setup all gigabit wired
1:44 ports which is an essential feature for any of these 300 megabit plus uh
1:49 Wireless uh routers in my opinion because otherwise you're just going to
1:53 be bottlenecked by the wired ports anyway all right green Net Technology
1:56 lowers energy consumption by 70% remember Green net Tech green Net
2:01 Technology turns off certain ports Powers things down allows your router to
2:04 be less power consuming than other routers Advanced wireless encryption up
2:08 to WPA2 radius Advanced firewall
2:11 protection internet access control with mac and URL filtering and ease of use
2:15 with an easy web browser configuration Remote Management and supports Universal
2:19 plug-in play personally I love Universal plug-in play some people say it's for
2:22 noobs I say fine then I'm a Noob cuz I like it all right here we go dual band
2:28 wireless and USB adapter something something here it is oh no that's the
2:31 wireless end gaming adapter there's the wireless end USB adapter and here is the
2:35 router and here is how they envision your network to pretty much work cool
2:40 beans okay what else we got here that's it let's open it up let's do
2:46 the unboxing part that's right in the title of this video 692 grr unboxing so
2:51 far I have unboxed nothing here we go so
2:55 there's a quick installation guide which is in USA and Britain language or also
2:59 known known as English before you start Hardware installation and how to
3:02 configure the wireless router we have a disc which has a user's guide on it so
3:06 maybe don't throw that away might be useful next we have a power adapter
3:11 fairly small wall wart made by beste it's the best it's Tech plugs into your
3:16 router makes it Go makes the little turbines inside
3:20 spin next we have the wireless router no
3:23 we don't okay next we have an Ethernet cable it's blue has plugs on the end
3:28 finally we have a mounting bracket which I will take out cuz we might show you
3:32 how to use that if I can figure it out on camera and I'm going to take off the
3:36 plastic which will reveal the incredibly shiny Linus yeah I'm not going to show
3:40 you the cameraman in the reflective surface sorry guys yes it is the true
3:44 cameraman helping me today the cameraman the Apple Enthusiast not uh not Darth
3:50 Vader not crazy Russian none of the others okay so let's have a look at the
3:54 router itself this one features a Green net badge on it which the 691 gr does
3:59 not have it also features a dual band 450 megabit per second logo on it you've
4:04 got The tradet Branding here on the top you've got the WPS button this is very
4:08 conveniently located you know what I'm kind of getting tired of seeing WPS
4:12 buttons that are like on the back of the router or like on the side or on the
4:15 bottom or wherever they end up being this is convenient right on the top very
4:19 nice Kudos trenet all right we have a power we have oh interesting they're
4:25 using an Internet Explorer logo for the W Port okay so then you you got your
4:29 four landan indicators your wireless indicators and your WPS LED indicator
4:36 you've got a reset switch here on the side as well as some ventilation holes
4:40 there's a fair amount of performance in a device like this so those ventilation
4:43 holes are probably needed you got some more ventilation holes as well as the
4:48 antennas on the other side of the device this is a fairly unconventional layout
4:53 usually on a router you see kind of nothing lights nothing and then ports
4:58 and and AD and antennas and reset switches and everything on the back but
5:03 on this one instead we've only got the ports on the back so these are all
5:06 gigabit Network ports there's your Wan port and there is your power input on
5:11 the back of the unit itself now it has on the bottom not a whole lot going on
5:16 and I want you guys to note that it does have three dedicated antennas and these
5:19 cannot be removed so these are builtin antennas so I will be doing some testing
5:24 on the 692 gr against its little brother the 691 gr with the the guy ah the
5:31 concurrent n USB adapter so stay tuned for that on my ncixcom channel and don't
5:35 forget to subscribe to Linus Tech tips for more unboxings reviews and other
5:38 computer videos cameraman figured out how the uh
5:42 Mount worked so basically all you do is you take the router and you put it on
5:46 there yeah it's actually that uncomplicated so what that means is and
5:50 this is actually smarter than it at first appears because okay for one thing
5:55 it just plugs into your ventilation holes at the bottom you can still access
5:58 your reset switch they they did think of that and for another thing look at what
6:01 this does so it puts it up this way so you can see your indicator lights from
6:05 the front still it takes all of your antennas and puts them up higher which
6:11 seems like logically intuitively might be better right and then last but not
6:16 least it still leaves all of your ports at the back see smart
