0:06 with its Factory tuning and data center DNA an Intel 730 series SSD is an
0:11 amazing choice for gamers and performance enthusiasts now I've looked
0:16 at 10 keyless keyboards in the past but I'm a heavy number pad user so I've
0:20 never really forced myself to use one for an extended period of time Cooler
0:24 Master was all like okay well we're going to send you one but you have to
0:28 actually use it so I said okay make sure it has brown switches on
0:32 it and I'll consider it so they did so now I really have to try it now if you
0:36 don't know what a 10 keyless keyboard is then prepare yourself for a shock
0:40 because it's missing a lot more than 10 Keys versus a standard 104 key layout
0:45 actually 17 keys because the number pad and all the other nearby keys are all
0:51 not there the reason for this is that it's actually more ergonomic to have
0:56 your mouse closer to the standard home row typing position than a standard
1:01 keyboard allows the way most people end up compensating is either by typing too
1:06 far to the left which causes strain or by moving their Mouse hand over too far
1:10 to the right which also causes strain and this isn't marketing BS it's just
1:14 fact the sacrifice that you make especially if like me you use your
1:17 number pad a lot is that it's not there and especially at first I found myself
1:22 reaching for that part of my keyboard a lot even little things like clicking on
1:26 something and then trying to press the bottom right Enter key drove me bananas
1:30 at the beginning so that's 10 keyless keyboards in general but I guess I
1:34 should get into some specifics about the rapid ey from Cooler Master true to CM
1:38 Storm's usual emmo it's a solidly built mechanical keyboard featuring cherrymx
1:42 switches and a really pleasing matte black soft touch finish with laser edged
1:47 Keys it's got a full backl in this case white with five levels of brightness
1:52 which you can adjust just like that and a few cool lighting modes that Cooler
1:56 Master is branding active light in
1:59 including full illumination breathing
2:02 two different types of reactive typing with or without a fade out and four
2:08 different profiles that can be programmed and then recalled in just a
2:12 few seconds so you can pick which Keys you want illuminated I made a little
2:16 squiggly line across the keyboard it's got media controls that can be accessed
2:20 with a function modifier and one more cool feature something I've only seen a
2:24 couple of times is that it's also got repeat rate control this is less useful
2:29 for typing since it effects how fast the key that you're holding down will repeat
2:33 on the screen so things get out of control pretty fast 1 x is normal and
2:37 looks like this well 2x looks like this 4X looks like this and 8x is just
2:42 ridiculous but gaming is a different
2:45 story and this will come in handy for commands that you want to execute
2:48 repeatedly much faster than you can press the button repeatedly quick time
2:53 events where you need to mash the button hauh Bring It On All right so back to
2:57 the 10 keyless experience as a whole for a bit I did almost immediately notice
3:02 the Improvement in my mouse and comfort for General computer use and for gaming
3:07 even though for quite a while it weirded me out every time I took my hand off my
3:11 mouse to press a key on the right side of the keyboard just be missing um at
3:15 least that's not an issue for gaming when really the left side of the keyboard is the only part that's in use
3:20 so overall after my trial period I'm not
3:24 quite ready to make the switch I think I'd need to pick up a USB mechanical
3:28 number pad to use on the right side of my mouse something a lot of 10 keyless
3:32 users who use number pads do and try that out a little bit before I commit
3:36 but what I will say is I definitely liked the improved ergonomics of not
3:41 feeling like my posture is either too wide or shifted too far to the left and
3:46 if I was shopping for a 10 kless today the rapid ey would have my attention
3:49 since Cooler Master is using genuine Cherry MX switches on this model and the
3:54 build quality overall is nice and solid
