0:00 it's on Enthusiast Hardware where we first see the innovations that trickle
0:04 down to the mainstream stuff a couple of years later so there's usually a whole
0:08 lot more for me to say about a piece of high-end gear than a value one but once
0:14 in a while it's helpful to come back down to earth and find out just how much
0:19 the value customer gives up compared to the Enthusiast customer so welcome to a
0:24 bit of a new style video for me I'm calling it a micro review about the
0:28 Motorola Moto e25 4G
0:40 variant of course our h8i GT and h100i
0:44 GTX all-in-one liquid coolers improve both the appearance and cooling of your
0:47 PC click my face or this spot or this
0:51 spot how many annotations can he make Nick do to learn
0:55 more since this is a micro video there's
0:58 no time to waste so let's get right into it this little guy is an entry-level
1:02 smartphone whose killer feature is right in the name 4G connectivity but it gets
1:07 some other upgrades as well compared to the 2014 model the processor has been
1:11 boosted to a Snapdragon 410 RAM holds steady at 1 GB storage gets bumped from
1:17 4 to 8 gigs with the same micro SD expansion the battery capacity jumps 20%
1:22 to 2390 milliamp hours and the screen jumps from a 540 by 960 pixel 4.3 inch
1:29 display to an okay the resolution stayed the same and it only got bumped to 4
1:33 and2 in but size ain't the only important thing here folks the new
1:37 display is an IPS panel it's not the
1:40 best I've seen and whites have a yellow or even slightly orange cast and blues
1:44 are oversaturated but it's a heck of a lot better than TN so yay joining that
1:50 at the front of the phone is a 640x480 selfie cam a speaker that pulls triple
1:55 Duty as the headset speaker an unexceptional loudspeaker and a great
2:00 little storage Nook for pocket lint and other random crap and that's about it
2:03 the buttons are on screen at the back is the camera for 5 megapixel Stills in
2:08 720p 30fps video that stunningly doesn't
2:13 include an LED flash I mean seriously how much more would that have cost then
2:17 around the edges of the removable rubbery feeling ring are the micro USB
2:22 charging port satisfying feeling volume and lock buttons and a headphone jack
2:27 then you can pull that baby off if you want to get a different color one or
2:30 access the micro SD and Sim slots 3G
2:34 version users will actually find two slim Sim slim Sim slots in here so let's
2:39 talk about using this thing the screen is noticeably non-retina uh it's pretty
2:44 slow uh Android 5.0 Lollipop in spite of its non bloated basically vanilla
2:49 implementation other than some little stuff like the handy notification glance
2:53 feature that I love on the Droid Turbo cannot save it compared to older
2:58 Hardware something like an iPhone 4 or 4S nonp power users might not be
3:03 bothered but on occasion I found myself putting the phone aside to do something
3:08 else while I wait for something which is never a good sign which isn't to say
3:11 that the whole experience is terrible the phone feels really solid and the
3:16 ergonomics are mostly good with more grip on the back being my only real
3:20 request 2.4 only gigahertz Wi-Fi is a
3:24 bit of a drag but the good news is that my bell LTE connection is significantly
3:29 faster than in my landline which the 2.4 GHz connection could saturate anyway and
3:33 I have lots of data so there's that battery life was a really strong point I
3:38 was expecting going from a 4,000 milliamp phone the Droid Turbo to a
3:43 2000ish milliamp battery would bother me
3:46 but the lower power Hardware in here allows it to easily make it through my
3:50 most demanding days with plenty of battery to spare which leads to the
3:55 micro conclusion of this micro video the camera is not as bad as I expected
3:59 indecent light but the lack of a flash means that poor lighting conditions will
4:04 come often and while at $20 more than
4:07 the original Moto E it doesn't feel quite like a direct replacement given
4:11 how much has improved you're getting a great value for your extra 20 bucks with
4:16 the most notable bits being for me the IPS display the improved battery life
4:20 and of course LTE connectivity the only
4:23 decision then to make is whether to spend a little bit more for the
4:27 significantly better Moto G
4:30 speaking of significantly better wouldn't it be better to have an anime
