0:00 guys guys guys tech news isn't something you feel it's something you read and
0:05 hear and you know feel microsoft is reportedly
0:08 planning to launch a dual screen surface tablet codenamed
0:12 centaurus centerus in the first half of 2020 forbes
0:17 reported the information after receiving it from a source inside the supply chain
0:22 the supply chain is all around you centaurus will reportedly feature two
0:26 nine inch screens with a four by three aspect ratio which they normally have
0:30 and we'll run Windows lite a slim down version of Windows 10 designed to
0:34 compete with chrome os it will also feature Intel's super slim 10 nanometer
0:39 lakefield soc and will be able to run Android apps as well as icloud
0:44 that all seemed a little out there but uh at least we know where the centaur
0:48 name came from because this is just a bunch of product concepts smashed
0:52 together like a human and a horse and not in a good way wait
0:56 what's the good way hope you had a good weekend because the
0:59 Linux community was busy getting jerked around over whether their games would be
1:04 ruined so first a spokesperson for the ubuntu distro posted an update on their
1:09 forums effectively saying new versions of ubuntu would not support 32-bit
1:13 applications since a ton of apps on Linux used 32-bit including Windows apps
1:17 that are run through compatibility layers like wine and steam proton the
1:21 community understandably got upset and a
1:25 developer at valve said steam would no longer support ubuntu going forward but
1:29 after seeing the backlash the ubuntu leadership changed their mind and
1:33 announced that they would support specific 32-bit programs following a
1:37 community-directed selection process i don't know whether to be mad that they
1:41 didn't think this through at first or mad that they flip flopped it's all very
1:45 confusing i am mad though are you ah you
1:48 use Linux mad and there's a new raspberry pi on
1:52 the scene and it's tastier than ever it still costs the same 35 as the pi 3 but
1:57 the new pi 4 features upgrades to almost every component and according to its
2:01 makers it can provide desktop performance comparable to an entry-level
2:04 x86 pc system wow the system runs a 1.5
2:09 gigahertz ARM cortex a72 CPU which delivers about three times more
2:13 performance than the pi 3 and video core 6 graphics which can drive two 4k
2:18 monitors booyah it's also got gigabit Ethernet up to four gigabytes of lp ddr4
2:23 memory and four usb ports two of which
2:27 are usb 3.0 it's apparently so capable
2:30 that most of the raspberry pi website is being run on a cluster of 18 raspberry
2:34 pi force although the server rack doesn't look particularly pretty that's
2:39 called a bush riley oh yeah it's a raspberry bush but hey things can look
2:44 horribly ugly and still be worth something you know riley's living proof oh he turned it
2:48 around oh i thought you could catch me it's time for quick bits brought to you
2:52 by dollar shave club what's that you're not big into shaving well that's fine

3:43 that's a quick bit apple has begun rolling out the public beta for macOS
3:48 catalina iOS 13 and ipad os so now lay
3:52 people can try it out or you know not just developers and riley actually made
3:56 a video about ipad os over on LTT so go check that out if you want to hear all
4:00 about how dumb the mouse support is that's so nice of you to tell them to
4:04 watch my video you write the script speaking of riley and betas
4:08 goodallgames.com has launched their private beta for gog galaxy 2.0 which is
4:13 designed to aggregate all the software platforms that pc gamers use like steam
4:18 uplay origin discord and more which is
4:21 great but if gog is trying to unite the galaxy are
4:25 they the rebels or the empire
4:28 why not both the u.s ban on huawei is apparently so
4:32 strong that not even single phones can slip by
4:36 it pc mag tried to ship a huawei p30 from britain to their colleague in the
4:40 states but after identifying the contents of the package fedex returned
4:44 the phone saying that they could not deliver it because of a u.s government
4:48 issue with huawei and china government that's literally what it said on the
4:51 package nuance political commentary isn't fedex's strong suit but they got
4:56 the gist of it the u.s air force has unveiled a new prototype anti-drone
5:00 defense weapon called the tactical high power microwave operational responder or
5:05 thor that's not contrived at all it uses short bursts of microwave radiation to
5:09 disable drones from a distance and could even disable many at once the
5:14 countermeasure was developed in just 18 months to protect against attacks from a
5:17 swarm of enemy drones it would be cooler
5:20 if you could shoot out lightning at the drones instead but i i guess we can
5:23 settle for this it's okay i remember that whole scandal a couple years back
5:27 where volkswagen was spoofing emissions test results for its diesel cars well
5:32 daimler which owns mercedes-benz was just accused of the sane darn thing darn
5:37 it auto regulators germany just told the company they'd have to recall 42 000 of
5:42 their vehicles after illegal software was discovered that met with the
5:46 emissions control system look some cars are just gassier than others right it's
5:50 simple biology
5:53 just close the door what's not so simple is continuing this episode so we better
5:57 just end it all thanks for watching guys and i promise if you come back on
6:01 wednesday we'll have more tech news i swear
6:05 i love swearing no not on this show
6:09 it's for the kids you riley oh
