all right this is going to be my testing methodology for The Cooler Master notal
0:04
Ergo stand I'm going to be running rivet tuner as well as real temp in the
0:09
background and I'm going to run 3D Mark 06 this is on a 7900 GT mobile graphics
0:16
card with a oh man I don't even know what CPU this thing has why don't we
0:19
find that out real quick uh CPU oh it's
0:23
a okay it's a core to t7200 at 2 GHz so it's got actually 4
0:30
gigs of RAM but for some reason it only detects 3 gigs and I don't really care
0:33
why um okay so I'm going to go ahead and run 3D Mark and then what I'm going to
0:37
do is I'm going to go back and find out what the maximum recorded temperatures
0:41
were by real temp as well as by
0:44
rivatuner now I'm going to do this at three different settings I'm going to do
0:48
it with the not pal fan at high and uh
0:52
you can adjust that down here right there there's a little slider I don't
0:56
know if you can see that at all but I've adjusted it all the way to the maximum
1:00
now and then you can also I'm also going to do it with it at its lowest and then
1:04
I'm going to do it sitting on a table
1:07
so here goes I'm not actually going to make you sit through all of this don't
1:12
worry I'm just going to kind of come back and show results
1:16
periodically okay I've got my first test result here so running with the fan on
1:21
full blast our maximum CPU temperature was between 54 and 58° depending which
1:26
core you're looking at and the maximum GPU temperature temperature that I found
1:31
was about 55 and 12° so we'll call that
1:35
5 there we go 56° on the GPU so now the
1:38
next one I'm going to do is to turn the fan all the way to the minimum and then
1:43
run the Benchmark again and see how it fares so this is after my run through
1:47
with the fan on low so you can see that my maximum CPU temperature was 55 or 59°
1:54
so quite a bit warmer than last time and then my maximum GPU temperature was up
2:00
around the same range so we saw it creep as high as 57 something yeah almost 58°
2:07
on the GPU so we're going to try one more time with the laptop just on the
2:12
table and then we're going to see how much better it does without a or well
2:17
rather how much worse it does without a fan so we ran it uh actually what I did
2:22
ended up doing was putting it on the box which you can see would be pretty
2:25
similar to how a uh table would cover the bottom of the laptop
2:30
and uh checking the high and low temperatures so you can see the CPU
2:34
temperatures are just a touch higher at 59 and 55 and then the GPU temperatures
2:39
are actually very similar uh only about a degree higher so it looks like this
2:43
notebook cooling pad is only really useful when you're using it with uh the
2:49
fan turned up probably to like a medium to high speed and then it actually makes
2:53
a substantial difference I'm actually going to do one more test and I'm going to run it just on the bare carpet
2:57
because so many people run their laptop on carpet as well as on uh flat surfaces
3:04
the way that they're supposed to so we'll try one more test and we're going
3:08
to see how it fares when it has like an insulating layer of carpet under it so
3:14
with it running on the carpet actually I left it for a while but uh I can just
3:18
make out that little hump there we saw it go as high as 69 plus degrees on the
3:23
GPU oh please Focus come on camera you
3:26
can do it oh you missed it a I left it for so long anyway okay yeah 69 there
3:31
there 69° and then on the CPU we saw it go as high as 62 and 67° so clearly
3:37
carpet is the worst out of everything we tested and the notebook cooling pad the
3:43
note palet Ergo stand is the best on its
3:46
high speed thank you for checking out my
3:49
unboxing well no this wasn't an unboxing this was more of a performance test look
3:54
at that I actually did a review of something for a change thank you and I
3:58
hope you enjoyed it and don't forget to subscribe to my Linus Tech tips video
