0:00 so we have with us today the p55 ud6
0:03 from Gigabyte this is uh their top of the line p55 motherboard you can see it
0:08 features 24 phase power along with all
0:12 of their other technologies sli crossfire b home theater and ultra
0:16 durable three it comes in a really high end box as you can see so you can see a
0:21 preview of the board but don't worry we'll uh we'll unbox the whole thing
0:24 here before the end of this now we're shooting our video today in southeast
0:28 asia where this board was designed and manufactured as you can see from the the
0:33 maps below us here so i'm just gonna
0:36 take this out of the box and here we go so it comes in kind of a
0:42 glossy outer sleeve and then we get down to the actual
0:45 box that the motherboard comes in i hope okay there we go so let's do the
0:50 accessories first and have a look at what comes with Gigabyte's premium p55
0:55 product so we have our our user guide for smart
0:59 trusted platform module then we have our smart six user manual
1:04 we have our normal motherboard user manual along with our driver and utility
1:09 dvd then we have the multilingual
1:12 installation guidebook which is more of a quick start guide and then in
1:17 terms of actual components we've got four SATA cables and an ide cable
1:21 then we have an sli a floppy sli bridge
1:25 then we have what appears to be an e SATA
1:29 let me just double check SATA to
1:33 e SATA cable it looks like oh no these are just black yeah SATA to e SATA
1:37 cables two of them and then we have an esata bracket that gives you two esata
1:42 ports just by plugging into internal SATA ports and then two uh molex two
1:48 SATA power adapters so you could just plug in regular regular drives outside
1:53 of your computer if you wanted to do that without an enclosure so there's our
1:56 little sticker a Gigabyte powered sticker and then here is the i o shield
2:01 okay so let's get down to the motherboard itself get this baby
2:05 unpacked here so you can see that the
2:09 oh it's taped it's taped shut okay well i hadn't noticed that that would have
2:13 been kind of embarrassing there we go so you can see that compared to
2:17 gigabytes normal p55 boards there are a
2:21 lot of power faces on this motherboard
2:24 and i cannot get it out of the plastic packaging here somehow it is it is
2:30 gripping the board and not allowing me to remove it there
2:34 we go okay so there's your 24 phase power how do
2:38 you like that that is a lot of power phases and you can actually see a lot of
2:43 the power circuitry is on the back of the motherboard so they've they've
2:48 overloaded the amount of space they actually have to provide power to the
2:52 CPU you have quite a robust cooling solution
2:56 running from your south bridge area to the to the chipset
3:00 up to the mosfet cooling and what you'll notice about this board is unlike other
3:04 p55 boards it actually has six RAM slots
3:08 now it still only works in dual channel but you can actually load up an
3:12 additional two modules even though you won't get additional performance you can
3:17 have a little bit of extra capacity now like all of the other p55 high-end
3:22 boards you do have support for sli and crossfire at 8x 8x electrical
3:28 you've got use of six of your seven expansion slots i don't know what you'll
3:32 be able to plug in here with this northbridge in the way now you've got
3:36 onboard let's see what is this this is an onboard cmos clear switch and then
3:41 you have an onboard power switch up on the top right of the board your power
3:46 connectors are up at the top left for the eight pin and then over on the right
3:50 hand edge for the 24 pin right where they belong
3:54 and in terms of connectivity you've got 10 SATA ports so you can see those from
3:59 the side and then you have one ide port
4:03 here now let's have a look at the back panel i o
4:06 and again you can see this is a fully loaded board so you've got 10 usb ports
4:11 two iseta ports so these are both those uh usb esata combo ports you have a ps2
4:17 keyboard mouse combo port you've got digital audio two gigabit Ethernet ports
4:22 and then 7.1 channel audio so thank you for checking out my blog on the Gigabyte
