0:00 today we're going to be having a look at a pretty cool product from BenQ now we
0:04 recently looked at a 24-in monitor from BenQ that had a VA panel and an LED
0:10 backlight but this one's a little bit different it has some additional
0:13 features so this is the BL 2400 pu it is
0:16 also a 24 in VA panel with LED back
0:21 lighting however it also has some other cool features so let's get this guy
0:26 opened up and have a quick boo inside
0:29 shall we so the first thing we are going to find
0:32 is hey look at this BenQ is switching to a more eco-friendly packaging they're
0:36 using uh they're using a diecut cardboard insert in order to give you
0:42 the uh the best biodegradability possible and you can actually see
0:46 they're using like they're using uh double they're doubling up on the
0:50 cardboard in a lot of the areas to make sure that you've got really good
0:53 rigidity to this overall I mean that's that's outstanding
0:58 actually there's a lot be learned from packaging like this actually I mean I
1:02 know I I talk about the Box a lot these days but you unbox enough products and
1:06 it starts to just sort of come natural so here's the base here we've got our
1:10 rubber feed on the bottom so that the monitor is not going to slip around we've got a pretty standard little uh
1:15 screw in for attaching the Monitor and then it sits kind of like that okay so
1:19 that's the first piece we find inside the box next we're going to go ahead and
1:23 remove oh actually no first we're going to find uh disc okay I've never been
1:28 able to understand why a monitor comes with with a disc so we just get rid of
1:32 that and let's take this out so oh not
1:36 quite oh accessories okay here I am I keep wanting to take out the packaging
1:40 but I can't do it yet we have a USB A2B
1:43 cable so that's going to be for the built-in USB hub we have a power cord we
1:47 have an audio cord it does have built-in speakers and then we also have an
1:52 included VGA cable okay so we'll go
1:55 ahead and throw those back in there and then now we can take this look at that
2:00 it all comes out in like one elaborate piece you know somebody probably has to
2:04 fold this by hand I'm telling you that's that's
2:08 probably how it works so then we find
2:11 the monitor itself and this is where things start to get a little bit more
2:16 exciting because I've already given away the big secret which is the VA panel and
2:21 the LED backlight but what I haven't told you is that this monitor also has
2:27 some pretty unique connectivity op option so I'm going to go ahead and
2:31 attach the base just for the sake of showing you how simple it is so
2:36 hopefully I can make it look pretty simple here otherwise we're going to be
2:40 in for a bit of a rough show all right
2:43 here we go so we're just going to go ahead take the base position it in there
2:48 just like that and then we're going to tip it
2:52 up all right so that's pretty straightforward and then we're just going to screw it in and hopefully this
2:57 works you can use a screwdriver but you can probably get it tight enough by hand
3:01 anyway so I wouldn't worry too much about it and there we go that was the
3:04 whole assembly process for this monitor
3:07 so I want to show you a few things right off the bat first of all there is a
3:11 built-in USB hub so if you go and look on the right hand side of the monitor
3:16 here you've got four USB ports so that was what that A to B cable was for you
3:20 just plug from here into the back of your computer and that's going to be your Hub right there that looks like
3:24 it's going to be a passive Hub not or passive a non-powered hub so you're only
3:29 going to be using things like keyboards and mice I wouldn't expect to be powering a bunch of 2 and 1/2 in you
3:33 know hard drives or anything off of it okay next we've got the options for all
3:38 of this stuff so we're going to press in here and oh okay hold on let's see if I
3:43 can figure this out oh okay hold on we got to tear this off
3:48 first and then we can lift yes there we
3:51 go so that's for uh security and shipping okay let me just go ahead and
3:57 ah yes okay well I put the base on before taking that off so that won't
4:00 work quite as well uh but you can see that it actually adjusts up quite High
4:04 cameraman if you want to step back and have like a quick uh look at the monitor
4:08 itself so it adjusts all the way from way down low like this all the way up
4:13 like that so uh you can pretty much adjust it to whatever is ergonomically
4:16 comfortable for you this monitor also has a uh side to side option okay you
4:23 can tilt it up and down just like that
4:27 actually here you want to grab it from the side so that I can show you just how
4:31 much you are able to tilt it so depending where you're sitting you can
4:35 sit and look up at your monitor like this or you can sit up here and look
4:40 down at it you have all the options in the world available to you and if you
4:46 view a lot of photos or anything like that you can also go ah there we go 90°
4:54 to the side and have it in portrait mode so while we got it in portrait mode why
4:58 don't we have a quick look at the connectivity that I was talking about so
5:02 here we got our power button right there and then our speaker bar is running all
5:06 along the oh no it isn't my bad the speakers are actually here on the bottom
5:10 but here we go right here there's our
5:14 power oh here's all the buttons cameraman's trying to show you that I
5:18 guess that's Justified so here is enter
5:21 here's the brightness adjustment this looks like uh something else menu and
5:26 auto so I'm sure once you have the on screen display up you'll be able to figure out what all of those do fairly
5:30 easily here's our power in and then
5:34 finally we have uh audio in headphone
5:38 and DisplayPort how's that for cool we
5:41 have finally a good value DisplayPort
5:45 monitor that offers a VA panel an LED
5:51 backlight a pretty slick looking design
5:55 and a price point that isn't ridiculous
5:58 so that is pretty darn cool and I'd say that's sort of feature number one I mean
6:03 the ifinity guys are going to go nuts over a monitor like this because you
6:07 don't have to use any expensive adapters you can just grab three of these
6:10 monitors and boom you got ifinity with uh three times HD resolution we've also
6:14 got your standard DVI and VGA inputs we got a Kensington lock on the back and
6:19 you can see we've got a standard fourpoint screw mounting system so you
6:22 can actually ARM mount this monitor or hey if you want to run it in Infinity
6:26 you can even get one of those triple monitor mounts so thank you for checking
6:29 out the unboxing and first look at this
