0:00 welcome to my unboxing and first look at sennheiser's PC 350 special edition or
0:06 SE noise blocking gaming headset so calling it noise blocking is pretty much
0:10 sennheiser's way of saying that this is a closed design headphone with a
0:15 microphone and by closed I mean that it keeps the noise it keeps the sound in so
0:22 all your gaming sounds or music or movies or whatever else you happen to be
0:26 listening to on them stays inside your headphones and isn't going to leak to
0:30 the people around you who maybe don't want to hear it so if you're someone who
0:34 games late at night or you have a baby in the next room or whatever else
0:38 something like this is a very very good option it also means that the sounds
0:42 stay out so if someone's calling you to come to dinner for example um you may
0:47 not hear them which is just sort of the situation so the PC 350 special edition
0:53 features optimiz sound control for Competitive Gaming the sound is trimmed to provide positional accuracy making it
0:57 easier to hear where each sound comes from it features a closed design which isolates you from the outside noise so
1:01 you don't hear even the faintest so you hear even the faintest details of your
1:06 game gaming time is your time and every games you deserve it's no coincidence
1:10 that many games are recorded with Sennheiser audio equipment too they come
1:13 with a 2-year warranty and they also come in one of the slimmest packages
1:16 that I think I've ever seen uh a gaming headset come with so uh outstanding
1:22 Sonic quality and Clarity with e technology collapsible design and
1:25 carrying case okay cool ease of use integrated volume control on the ear cup
1:29 and and greatfor long gaming sessions with extra- large ear pads now I can
1:33 actually vouch for the comfort of this particular headset um not that I I I've
1:38 actually used the original PC 350 not the 350 SE and while I personally don't
1:45 prefer closed headphones um and I personally didn't really find them that
1:49 comfortable compared to my HD 555s they were one of the only headsets that my
1:54 wife would even use she just refused to
1:57 use anything else other than these ones and one other one that she found
2:01 acceptable um that was able to fit around her ears and and that she was
2:05 able to find them comfortable so here's the carrying case is quite nice it has
2:09 like a like a nice textured finish on it
2:13 uh feels quite durable it's got a little carrying handle right here and then the
2:17 zipper feels not like something that's just going to break in 2 seconds so I
2:21 mean these are things that you can't take for granted to be perfectly honest
2:24 and inside we find the collapsible design so there's some foam to keep it
2:29 from you know keep anything bad from happening during shipping although I
2:32 don't think the assumption is that you'll continue to use that forever they've added an orange accent to the SE
2:38 that was not on the original PC 350 and
2:41 uh obvious not obviously but also the uh carrying case that is included with the
2:46 SE was not included with the original 350 either so we can take this piece of
2:51 foam out it looks like there's a little pouch here so you can keep a couple
2:54 little extra accessories in there button those down same thing like the inside
2:59 feels very nice nice very high quality very premium they also lay out look at
3:03 that they got a little thing here so that you don't screw it up and you put
3:06 it in the right way every time and then these pieces right here will keep the uh
3:10 the ear cups in place during transport so I'll show you guys how the design
3:14 unfolds okay so it comes out that way
3:17 comes out that way and then locks into place over here somewhere all right it's
3:23 just kind of is that even yeah that's even there
3:28 you go um and this this right here is one of the reasons that I didn't find
3:32 the 350s that comfortable because uh they were pretty much tuned to my wife's
3:36 head you can see they're they're quite tight so you're going to want to break
3:40 these in before they start to get really comfortable but then like I said they
3:43 were one of the most comfortable headsets that she well would use so
3:47 basically one of the most comfortable headsets she ever encountered like I've seen on quite a few Sennheiser
3:51 Headphones the ear cups are not super soft they're not super Supple but what
3:56 this means is it's a bit of a trade-off when you have a really soft memory foam
4:00 ear cup what can happen is it cannot it
4:03 tends to not necessarily conform as much to your head over time so the Comfort
4:07 level doesn't really change whereas when you break in a bit of a harder uh more
4:12 um more formable foam over time you what
4:16 you'll discover is that it becomes perfectly tuned to fit your head and
4:21 it's uncomfortable for anyone else but super comfortable for the intended
4:25 wearer which is you the 350 uses a boom
4:28 mic so I can hear the switch in there it
4:32 automatically mutes when you put it up into the um upright position and then
4:37 right here right there see that little spot
4:40 where it sticks that's what is going to reactivate the mic and turn it back on
4:45 this boom mic doesn't have length adjustment so it is intended only to be
4:49 adjusted this way uh and this way sorry
4:52 I almost end up putting that in my mouth there you want the microphone at the corner of your mouth so that it doesn't
4:56 pick up too much breathing and that's one of the things that I do like about
4:59 tractable mics because this one as you can see is going to sit right under my
5:04 massive nose and uh might pick up a little bit of my breathing sound but
5:08 with that said it is a noise cancelling microphone so you can see they have um
5:12 mics on both sides which is going to enable it to to not do that as much and
5:16 the flexibility is all provided by this little piece of the ARM right here so
5:19 you can go ahead and adjust that as needed the volume control that is built
5:24 in is on the right ear cup so this is new to the SE as well so you just rotate
5:28 the little Sen logo all the way up and all the way down and presumably there is
5:34 a microphone control somewhere in line here but I guess we'll have to oh no
5:38 right because uh right it used to have that so that's controlled by this now I
5:42 wouldn't have minded seeing a bit of a thicker uh headband I complain about
5:46 this a lot whenever I see it I like a wider headband because it spreads out
5:50 the pressure a bit but what the 350 does have going for it is unlike the ear cups
5:54 it is an extremely soft material up here
5:58 that has a long rebound time when you squeeze it in I hope you guys can see
6:01 that okay so for a thin headband this
6:05 one is extremely comfortable I think
6:08 that pretty much wraps oh yeah no I want to show you guys sort of the sizing so
6:12 it goes here this is where it's sitting comfortably on my ears so if you had a
6:15 super large head it would fit just fine and then if you're a kid wearing these I
6:20 don't think you'll have much difficulty either because that's how it sits on my
6:23 head and I wear a medium motorcycle helmet so that should give you guys some
6:27 idea of my head size so let's come in here and have a look at the quality of
6:30 the braided cable on here so it comes with a little uh strap for tying that up
6:35 when you want to transport it or whatever else and yeah I was mistaken
6:39 before there is no inline control because all the controls are on the
6:42 headphones themselves and I prefer this I think it's much better to have the
6:46 controls on the headphones as opposed to fumbling around with something and um
6:51 because I mean a lot of the time you just end up accidentally deactivating
6:54 them or activating them anyway so there's your microphone and headphone three pole uh 3 and half millim jacks
6:59 there's where they split apart another nice little Sennheiser logo and as we've
7:03 come to expect from Sennheiser Headphones nice long cable so this gives
7:09 you all the options in the world in terms of routing so you can kind of go
7:14 around and behind your stuff and then bring it around to the back of your
7:18 computer and you're going to have ample space to uh you know sit here which is
7:23 where presumably you'd be if you were gaming we might as well do a sneak peek
7:27 at what will be my finished gaming rig you're going to want to come on the
7:30 other side of me here Boll so uh there you go I'll be doing a video about this
7:34 soon the only thing that's missing is I still have to add a couple more sticks
7:38 of RAM and then it will be pretty much
7:41 done thank you for checking out this unboxing and first look at the PC 350 SE
7:46 from Sennheiser I think they took the approach of if it ain't broke don't fix
7:49 it made a couple small tweaks and I think the the changes that they have
7:53 made her very positive don't forget to subscribe Fus Tech tips for more unboxings reviews and other computer
