0:00 look i'm not going to stand here and tell you that we're out of tech news because
0:04 we're not there's no reason i'd say
0:07 some of you may be tired of hearing about huawei but the scandal rages on
0:12 while the current controversy surrounds an american executive order banning
0:16 business with huawei some uk companies
0:19 have boarded the bandwagon ee and vodafone two of britain's largest
0:24 telecom companies have dropped huawei devices from their 5g launch plans and
0:28 british chip maker ARM has reportedly sent a memo to its staff with
0:33 instructions to suspend all business with the chinese company this move could
0:38 potentially prove to be the most disastrous since huawei's in-house kirin
0:41 processors are based on armed designs for which it pays license fees on the
0:46 software front things are looking a bit more promising huawei has said that
0:50 they're working with google on ways to mitigate the damage and the company is
0:54 reportedly making plans to debut its alternative os meant to replace Android
0:59 this fall there might even be legal measures that huawei could take in the us to argue the
1:04 ban is unconstitutional or otherwise illegal most coverage of the huawei
1:08 scandal though is focusing on what it means for huawei but there could also be
1:12 very negative effects for american companies like Intel qualcomm microsoft
1:16 and google who will be losing out on revenue they would otherwise collect
1:20 from huawei for licensing and component sales it all feels a bit like
1:24 overprotective parents not letting their kids play with each other if those kids
1:28 were also spying on the other kids toys and like collecting all their personal
1:32 kid data okay it's not a perfect analogy
1:38 AMD should call their upcoming CPU ryzen troll ripper yeah because if recent
1:43 leaks are to be leaved they might be up to their silly
1:47 naming shenanigans again this pr manager for graphics card oem sapphire has told
1:51 the chinese press that AMD will soon be revealing two new gpus based on the navi
1:56 architecture the avatar architecture the navi
2:01 the first one will have a full enabled xt chip with performance greater than
2:05 NVIDIA's rtx 2070 for 499 us the second
2:09 card will be a cut down version with performance greater than NVIDIA's rtx
2:13 2060 for 3.99 us but the real kicker
2:17 here is that some rumors claim these cards will be called the art x 3080 and
2:23 rx 3070 respectively and that's just
2:27 what that's wrong that's wrong AMD you've got some hard
2:31 thinking to do if this is true it's unclear when we'll see these gpus as
2:35 some rumors point to a launch at computex next week while AMD themselves
2:39 have already indicated that they'll present new products at their new
2:42 horizon gaming event at e3 in june either way it's not that far away and it
2:47 looks like we might be set for some big eye rolls give me a break here oh god
2:52 they got stuck up there and speaking of revolutionary new
2:56 hardware apple has quietly refreshed their macbook pro line with Intel 8th
3:00 gen and 9th gen processors complete with eight core options the company says the
3:05 new additions make macbook pro the world's best pro notebook which i'm sure
3:11 is true for some people alongside the upgrade for apple's laptops comes a
3:15 repair program for those same laptops which have suffered from the flex gate
3:19 display backlight issue and problems with the butterfly keyboard design
3:24 they're sticking with that hey apple says they've tweaked the keyboard a
3:28 second time to try to fix it and third time's the charm so there's there
3:33 definitely won't be any problems with this one swear to god it's definitely
3:37 not the general design that's the problem people just aren't using the
3:40 right or something yeah you know you're supposed to be a barista using it yeah
3:44 then it works
3:47 now it's time for quick bits brought to you by private internet access pih
3:52 supports a variety of vpn protocols and types of encryption and authentication
3:56 allowing you to dial in the exact level of privacy protection that you need
4:00 they've got apps for Windows macOS Android iOS Linux and google chrome with
4:04 support for several other platforms coming soon i didn't even know there are more platforms than that you can connect
4:09 up to five devices at the same time and other features include dns leak
4:13 protection ipv6 leak protection and an
4:17 internet kill switch which will block all traffic if the vpn becomes
4:20 disconnected unexpectedly check it out today at the link in the video
4:24 description i've had quick bits ever since i was a boy
4:28 google talked big about privacy at i o 2019 but the company just disclosed that
4:32 a small number of its g suite customers had their passwords stored in plain text
4:38 on the company's servers the blunder was caused by a faulty
4:41 password recovery feature implemented in 2005 that's a long time ago which has
4:46 since been removed and there's no evidence of improper access to the
4:50 affected passwords so the issue has apparently been fixed and google says
4:54 no consumer gmail accounts were affected but do we believe them
4:59 dewey i'm switching a huawei mail that's smart
5:03 the new Windows 10 may update is rolling
5:06 out although as part of microsoft's new cautious update strategy you probably
5:11 won't get it unless you specifically go check for updates and choose to install
5:16 it the update includes a new light theme
5:19 dark theme is so passe a new light theme the sandbox virtual
5:24 machine tool separated cortana and search functions new features for the
5:29 xbox game bar you ought to be 21 to enter
5:33 and most importantly the ability to pause
5:36 updates so you have to update to avoid future
5:40 updates you were so close microsoft tesla recently also updated its
5:45 autopilot software to allow lane changes without driver input so consumer reports
5:50 did a little testing end they were a little uh unimpressed
5:55 claiming tesla vehicles with the new update cut off other cars did not react
5:59 to brake lights or turn signals and improperly passed cars in the wrong lane
6:04 that's that's everything wrong that you can do they described using the new
6:08 system as being like supervising a child or a nascent artificial intelligence
6:13 oh i didn't know elon musk was in the car for these tests boom roasted oh i
6:18 see what you're saying there that's extraneous now the epic game store's problems persist
6:23 with reports that users are being blocked from purchasing too many games
6:27 in quick succession oh what a nice problem to have
6:33 of course people are doing this because the store doesn't have a shopping cart
6:36 system like steam where you can buy multiple games at once and not only that
6:41 a reddit user reported that after requesting a summary of the personal
6:44 information that epic has on them the company accidentally sent it to another
6:49 random person they apologized and the random person
6:53 swore they deleted the info so it's all good
6:57 no it's not epic how many epic fails can we endure
7:01 we're just humans several more probably and ford's vision
7:07 of the future of package delivery involves real-life pit droids from the
7:11 star wars prequels it's a lot of peace okay not exactly but they do have some
7:16 similarities to the digit robot which would arrive at a person's home folded
7:21 up in a van with a package the robot then unfolds itself picks up the package
7:26 delivers it to your door and then jumps back in the car and takes off like i
7:30 bought out of hell this would be a great option for robot delivery particularly
7:35 in the nicest white picket fence neighborhoods where riley grew up
7:38 because because if it's anywhere else these things are definitely going to get
7:42 pushed over and stolen or at least invited to tag football games
7:46 and it's time to push over this episode right right over the edge into the abyss
7:50 down into the void where my soul resides it's over folks
7:55 i personally guarantee that if you subscribe to techlinked and hit the bell
