0:00 synergy 2 is available now and makes sharing a keyboard or mouse between two
0:04 systems so simple that anyone could do it check it out in the link in the
0:07 description down below we're here at fantext checking out a setup that has
0:12 two power supplies shared into one system that's so simple anyone can do it
0:15 or one power supply shared into two systems so simple that anyone could do
0:20 it fantax has teamed up with csonic to make these power supplies and they're
0:24 two different ones for the two different applications let's start with the revolt
0:28 pro this is the one you'll be using if you want to use multiple power supplies
0:32 on the same system that isn't just two you could theoretically go beyond just
0:36 the two we have here but i suspect the vast majority of people will stick with
0:40 just two power supplies now how does this work you may have seen the power
0:43 supply combiner and splitter that fantax has released in the past they've
0:47 essentially built that functionality into these power supplies individually
0:51 so the revolt pro has your motherboard connector a whole bunch of CPU and PCIe
0:55 connectors a whole bunch of SATA and molex connectors and then down below
0:59 these rubber stoppers there's another motherboard and another CPU pin input
1:04 connector that you would plug another power supply into it doesn't technically
1:07 have to be a phanteks power supply although i do suspect that they would
1:10 probably prefer that but you could use whatever power supply you want and it's
1:14 able to share some of its power up to i believe 600 watts through this main
1:18 power supply but it's also able you're able to use the other cables from the
1:22 other power supply if you want to plug in more molex's or more graphics cards
1:26 whatever else you need and there's failover protection so if you are able
1:30 to power both systems off of one power supply that is connected into each other
1:34 say you go with the 1000 watt version and you have a pretty beefy system or
1:38 the 850 watt version and you have a fairly mid-tier average system that
1:42 people are building these days one entire power supply could go down and
1:46 your system won't shut down another cool thing about this that i like is if
1:50 you're building a system that you need two power supplies for say austin in
1:53 scrapyard wars season three or if you're mining or if you're just doing something
1:59 crazy with computers and you need multiple power supplies you don't have
2:02 to mess around with bridging the 24 pin connector with the green wire and the
2:06 black wire and making sure that you switch both the power supplies on at the
2:09 exact right time so that you don't have part of your system powered up and the
2:12 other part not powered up now everything's plugged into each other it's really simple you have one power
2:17 switch everything's just fine it'll work but moving on from there we have the
2:21 revolt x which is kind of the opposite it splits instead of joining on this one
2:26 you have labels for system one where you have motherboard CPU connections SATA
2:32 molex PCIe all that kind of stuff and then there's system two where you have
2:36 motherboard and CPU as well this is also great but for completely different
2:40 scenarios this enables you to run say two systems in one box you could have
2:45 your main system that you do everything on on your day to day then you could
2:48 have your streaming box or a workstation or a test system or whatever else on the
2:52 other side this also makes it so that say you have two workstations next to
2:55 each other you could run them out of the same box with two systems inside the
2:59 same box split monitors onto each side and then you're at higher efficiency
3:03 this is a 1200 watt platinum rated power
3:06 supply and if you look at efficiency curves down on the lower end if you're
3:10 not using that much power say both the systems are idling on two separate power
3:14 supplies you're at low efficiency on both of the power supplies this will
3:18 make it that you're going to climb the efficiency curve a little bit make it so those idling times which is actually a
3:23 pretty high percentage of the time you're using your or you're not using your computer i guess when you're asleep
3:27 and whatnot if you don't turn your computer off or even when you just walk away from it if it's idling it will be
3:32 more efficient than other possible solutions you get one power supply that
3:36 isn't at a higher price than it would be if it didn't have this internal
3:39 functionality it's at quite competitive price for other power supplies at the
3:42 1200 watt range same with the revolt pro that we mentioned earlier it's not
3:46 necessarily higher price than anything else in its competitive range and it
3:49 looks really good i like this grille on the top and you're able to gain this
3:52 functionality you could use these things you could use the revolt x 1200 watt as
3:57 a single power supply for a single system you could use the revolt pro 850
4:01 or 1000 watt as a single power supply for a single system you're paying
4:05 essentially the same amount and you're gaining functionality to possibly use in
4:08 the future say you want to grow on your system you want to add a graphics card
4:12 or two or do some other crazy stuff and you have the revolt pro well you could
4:17 just get another power supply link it in you have more wattage you have more
4:21 connectors everything's kind of handled for you it's nice and smooth so you go
4:24 with the revolt x and you want to just add another whole computer you had a
4:28 workstation beside you you had an employee your girlfriend wants a computer something like that you already
4:33 have the power supply you just plug it into the other system and you're done
4:37 you don't have to buy another one that's pretty cool a trusted power supply brand like csonic
4:41 coming together with fan techs to add really cool functionality to their power supplies and make everything nice and
4:46 simple and easy to use is really cool if you decide to go with something like the
4:49 revolt x and have two systems you might need some software to link the keyboard
4:54 and mouse as well over the system see what i'm doing sponsor spot there we go
4:58 synergy 2 is out they've simplified a whole bunch of stuff with the new release there's no longer the server
5:03 client settings that you have to set up just all your systems will work together
5:07 it's also able to communicate over more complicated networks that synergy or
5:11 synergy one used to have problems with back in the past so you have to worry
5:14 about that stuff anymore there's a new ui there's ssl encrypted connections
5:19 it's it's much more simple even able to access your computers before you've
5:23 logged into them if you have all this stuff shared over which is nice so you
5:26 can move the stuff over log in from there everything's nice and good to go
5:31 if you want to check it out check out the link in description like the video if you liked it dislike if you disliked
5:35 it stay subscribed for all the rest of our ces 2018 content i did not suspect
5:39 we'd be doing this many power supply videos but everything's been really cool so far so yeah stay tuned i'll see you
5:44 next time
